also i find it deeply funny that in tsc andrew is just kevin’s pet goalkeeper and kevin’s pet monster and “that creepy little goalkeeper” when he takes up soooo much space in aftg in literally every fucking scene. even when he isn’t physically present he’s taking up space on the page because neil won’t stop thinking about him. then u get inside jean’s head and he’s like yeah aaron minyard is uninteresting outside of his outstanding murder charge and andrew is also there
cannot stop thinking about how, from jean’s pov, neil is a Creature. an insane little man. jean expresses physical attraction or at least physical appreciation towards many of the characters in this book, and despite the foxes’ insistence that neil is good looking, to jean neil is always just… a weird and slightly unsettling presence. a strange and arrogant creature with no leash on him. an uncanny force of nature.
“He needed to know what Nathaniel was saying in this historic moment.”

Me Before You (2016)
Am I the only one that found the book… underwhelming.
"you're beauty never ever scared me" but make it about a boy who sacrificed himself to a dreamt forest, has psychic abilities and can literally make a thorn appear on his father's hand to protect himself and create a circle of protection around himself to not get killed by a building collapse and his boyfriend who can bring things he dream to life, including real people, has fought literal demons and is powerful enough to be compared to god
thinking about how one of the main themes of tdt is the price of being yourself. like literally every character is facing choices and dilemmas dealing with facing the risk of what it takes to become oneself vs becoming the self you think you’re supposed to be. like:
declan: the price of staying safe and invisible vs the price of being seen.
ronan: the price of fitting in to a world not designed for him vs the price of owning his power.
matthew: the price of being the perfect golden child he’s always thought himself to be vs the price of discovering what he really is.
hennessy: the price of continuing to run and hide from trauma vs the price of facing herself.
jordan: the price of living on the sidelines as just another part of hennessy vs the price of becoming her own person.
carmen: the price of following what she’s been taught to believe is right vs the price of listening to her internal conscience.
adam: the price of being liked for a fantasy vs the price of being known for his true strenghts and vulnerabilities.
even the visionaries as a metaphor for the terror of becoming. they literally oscilate between ages and can either create explosions with their changes or pay the price of letting themselves slowly die for the sake of keeping others safe and comfortable. and the main “villain” of the lace not being a villain but an amorphous thing that is literally just a metaphor for trauma and the things you fear about yourself. bryde simultaneously being someone ronan desperately wants to be and completely fears. like. I could go on and on. It makes me so fucking FERAL
House of the Dragon + in memoriam: Harwin Strong
what you don't get is science exists because people can love. medicine exists because people love each other enough to want each other to live long healthy lives. astronomy exists because someone loved the stars and the planets enough to track them through their ever changing position in the darkest night. science exists because humans are curious little creatures and we want to know the world around us and understand it like it does us. we know stars and planets worlds away, we've sent cameras worlds away, all because we love the universe, and we also put love in those satellites!! we sent the sound of a 100 languages, lovely messages, the sound of rain and a laugh, all out there just in case there's someone in the universe looking for us like we do them, and so that they know that they were never alone, and we sent them the most simple loving things we could find.
science exists because people can love
i love you people who hold doors i love you people who let others pass on the driveway i love you people who make funny faces at babies i love you people who pick up litter i love you people who say please and thank you i love you people patient with service workers i love you people who share an umbrella i love you people who are casually kind
I can’t stop thinking about the fight scene in the Shadow Realm. That scene ate so much up.
The black and white only ever briefly interrupted by the lightning from Stormbreaker, Mjolnir, and Thunderbolt. Gorr using EVERY BIT OF HIS POWER to fight three of the greatest warriors in the universe. His prior monologue which had me on the edge of my seat, terrified. THOR ODINSON. KING VALKYRIE.
DOCTOR JANE FUCKING FOSTER.
MY GOSH DO I LOVE THAT SCENE
you know what i love the most about thor love and thunder? it feels like it’s the first mcu project in a while where no one cares about the cameos or the multiverse or whatever, it’s just taika waititi doing his thing and everybody is still unbelievably hyped for it
hey, if you didn’t like thor love and thunder: that’s fine. that’s okay. i however had an absolutely blast the entire time
