the core of veritas ratio's character is the pursuit of truth and reason - so it's profoundly disappointing that his english voice actor chooses to align with and support charlie kirk, whose entire platform is built on the opposite.

the cognitive dissonance is staggering, and it tarnishes a character deeply important to me for numerous reasons - though, this is an important time to reiterate to people that a character is not their voice actor and vice versa; so here is a reminder to the fandom to keep that in mind and not harass fan accounts, cosplayers, etc.

still, disappointment is not nearly enough to cover my thoughts on the matter. it's incredibly, devastatingly, ironic above all else - especially given the fanbase being largely being parts of minorities (not to mention the basic human rights) that kirk was vehemently against.

taking a break from social media only to come back and destroy your own career, alongside calling your fans, friends, and community who supported you "a good run" is indescribable. instead of taking the criticism and reconsidering your stance, doing research, taking it to heart - doing virtually anything - he decided to simply give a disgusting response, and used religion as a means to throw everything at the everyone's faces.

yes, people should perhaps show more caution when it comes to liking celebrities and the like, but that does not mean it isn't still heartbreaking when someone who seemed like a decent human being is shown to be someone else. he gained a platform and trust - which was then broken - and that still deserves to be mourned.

above all else, veritas ratio's character has not changed - and i will continue to enjoy the scholar who loathes those who do not wish to learn, ignorance, and is consistently shown to be against the oppression of minorities. he is not defined by the views of one of his voice actors, and enjoyment of him should not be stunted by this event; despite how difficult it is to accept this new information, and how it's personally unfathomable currently that this will fully mentally sink in for me, eventually.

my suggestions to make persona 5 royal good (atlus, take into consideration for a future p5 remake):

- akechi romance route

- more akechi scenes

- longer akechi confidant activities

- ability to show up wherever akechi is randomly

- extra two hours of akechi cutscenes (minimum)

- option to take akechi into reality from your computer screen
