hello! i'm aki (any pronouns), and i'm super excited to be here and sic my girl, jung yura, on all your muses. :)
i’m still hammering out her full profile as she’s a very new muse, but there’ll be enough information and some rough wanted connections below the cut for your perusal. hit the heart if you’d like to plot, build a connection, or just yammer about some headcanons! dc is also available upon request if that's easier.
* ── you were fated to TEACH here, JUNG YURA. the OLD STORIES willed that you would bear FABLE MANIPULATION and arrive in time. i knew i would find you someday. whenever i came upon MISMATCHED TEACUPS SET FOR TOO MANY, HEARTY LAUGHTER BETWEEN STORIES, & INK STAINS ON LACE SLEEVES, i thought of you. because of your EXUBERANCE & CANDOR, and despite your INTEMPERANCE & WHIMSICALITY, i always knew… we are bound, you and i.
overview. yura’s presence is often heard before it is seen; the skittering of little paper constructs rounding a corner, the delicate clink of porcelain teacups brushing together, or her bright, unreserved laughter drifting down the corridor. she is, by all accounts, a merry witch, one who delights in theatrics and holds fast to a lifelong belief that magic should, above all else, be fun.
as a professor, yura has little patience for rigid thinking, favoring the unorthodox in both execution and imagination. the impractical is simply another possibility waiting to be tested, and the ridiculous is welcomed with open arms. while she may not be the most exacting mentor, she is the one students seek when they need a receptive space to wander the stranger corners of their abilities. exploration is always encouraged, and she is quick to reward those who find solutions by way of the unexpected.
outside of lessons, yura is often found near the quieter edges of the school, accompanied by her small entourage of fable constructs. should one stumble upon her impromptu tea parties, she is more than happy to offer an extra seat at the table. the tea is always excellent, the desserts peculiar but delicious. in exchange, she has only a small request: a story; a childhood memory, an embarrassing mishap, a strange dream from the night before. it hardly matters what kind. yura listens to them all with equal delight.
(very) brief history. born an only child to two human parents, yura grew up in an otherwise mundane household. though her childhood was quiet and often lonely, she tends to remember it fondly. most of her days were spent tucked away at a library her mother worked at, nose deep in fairytales and other worlds. when her attempts to connect with children her age fell through, yura turned to stories for companionship, her imagination becoming both her refuge and playground.
over time, something within those stories began to answer her in return. the earliest manifestations of her power were miniscule and fleeting; paper animals that barely stirred and tiny figures that lingered just long enough to leave her wishing for more.
perhaps drawn by the faint magical signatures forming around the library, a visiting witch was the first to recognize what yura was becoming. the invitation to attend the boarding school came not long after. to yura, it felt less like leaving home and more like stepping directly into one of the stories she had always loved.
yura set out for the world after graduation, eager to see how her abilities might behave beyond familiar grounds. much to her discontent, however, the outside world never quite lived up to what she was hoping for. when the opportunity arose for her to return—this time as a professor—she was more than delighted to accept. the school offered what she adored most: a constant stream of new beginnings. new students, new personalities, new stories waiting to be told.
fable manipulation. yura's primary ability. she's able to manifest constructs shaped by storybook logic and archetypal roles with varying degrees of autonomy. these creations behave according to loose narrative conditions set by their witch rather than direct control. while they naturally act on their assigned tendencies, yura can issue specific commands which the constructs follow in their own ways. she usually favors smaller, harmless manifestations, treating them like little companions suited for mundane tasks and everyday assistance.
she is equally capable of conjuring more physically imposing entities when needed. these may take the form of human-sized figures such as knights, attendants, or steeds, serving protective or practical purposes. however, these summons require greater concentration and are typically maintained for shorter periods, their presence more deliberate than her usual entourage.
in very rare instances, she is capable of conjuring significantly larger constructs, closer to monsters in nature. these manifestations currently require substantial magical exertion and are highly unstable, difficult to maintain, and prone to dissolving inadvertently.
possible connections.
her familiar PLEASE. i do have an idea for what i imagine her familiar to be like, but i am very much down to wing it and find them through plotting and testing chemistry!
her students, duh! honestly, yura is lowkey cuckoo bananas as a professor, but she's also one of the more lenient ones. very encouraging woman. if your muse needs a mentor figure who'll clap and cheer when they bend a few rules or not mind at all no matter how many times they fail, she’s more than happy to be that safety net. or maybe they just wanna join a fun elective class with no pressure because she will be handling one (when i finish working on that curriculum).
unofficial tea party guest list. students, fellow professors, familiars, everyone's welcome to sit at the table! even better if they're willing to spend hours chatting. she loves a good yap.
someone who gets under her skin. yura's a hard one to upset or even annoy, but oughhh... there's nothing that pisses her off the way austerity does. if your muse is an absolute stickler for the rules, let's make them fight. <3 or maybe your muse finds yura to be the unpleasant one instead.
accidental muses, kinda... what's a creator without her muse? and by muse, i mean one of her little constructs resemble your muse a little too much, appearance-wise. she will absolutely say it's just a coincidence, but you know. maybe your muse can take it as a compliment that they inspired her, or they can also be absolutely mortified.
my brain is crickets now, but i would love to brainstorm for something better because this list is looking rough as hell. <3 let's get crazy with it, i'm down for anything!
