I haven’t made a New Year’s resolution in quite a few years. This year I decided to do fun resolutions.

🍲 Try out a new recipe at least once a month.

🌮 Go to a different restaurant once a month.

🚗 Day trip to a museum or gallery at least every other month.

💌 Send a random card to each of my small circle telling them to have a great day and I love them.

🎥 Go see 3 movies in the theater. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to a movie theater.

The sweetest and most unexpected act of kindness made me realize

how much I miss my Dad

how much I miss my pup Nikki

how much I miss my kittie LillyMae

how extremely fatigued I am of work, of the hum drum of my everyday life, of politics, of news

I sat and cried releasing tension, frustration, pent up grief.

I needed this act of kindness more than this person will ever know.

My Dad passed away 12-3-2022. I am struggling with grief, with isolation, with loneliness, with the Holidays, with self realization. The reality of well-meaning people saying “if you need anything, I’m here” is it’s only meant if it’s not an inconvenience. I am just as guilty. I get it…everyone is busy, especially this time of year. Work, family, holiday obligations…I get it. So I’ll put my brave face on and struggle and grieve alone in private.

I went for a walk yesterday. The first walksie without you. I took one of your favorite routes. I made sure I had upbeat music to distract me. But honestly, it wasn’t enough. The tears came. I couldn’t help it. I’ve never felt more alone. I miss you everyday, my sweet pup pup. Love you always. 💖💖💖
