- reshiram!emmet can detect lies, even his own

- he can lie but he feels pain from doing so

- everyone knows emmet and ingo are the legendary dragons. everyone is worried

dialogue:

Person: oh? Subway boss Ingo isn’t with you? Where is he?

Emmet: ingo is not here today. He will be back very soon though!

Emmet: he is taking a small vacation. He will be back. Do not worry

Emmet: he is taking a small break

Emmet: he is making an unplanned stop. he will not be gone for long

Emmet: he is alive elesa! I know it! He will return! I know-

Emmet: ingo is- he has to be- why can I not...

twin dragons au-- wherein ingo is zekrom and emmet is reshiram-- but when ingo gets eeby deebied he somehow gets stuck in a half-dragon-half-human shape

(Sneasler, on her way to check in with the pearl clan settlement, comes across a very strange and very unconscious dragon man. There is Something about him that seems powerful. divine, even, much like her lineage's blessing from arceus. but more importantly, new skrunkly. she drags (metaphorically) him to the pearl clan and practically forces them to take care of him.)

pearl clan is VERY scared and suspicious of him for a bit. given his lack of memories, and his. creature-ness. but his whole appearance, his warm and kind (albeit odd) personality and mannerisms, and the fact that Sneasler was so attached, ended up convincing them he's some gift from the almighty sinnoh or something.

(which. if you look at it. isn't necessarily far from the truth, given the fact he is very much a legendary pokemon. even if he doesn't remember. and is also rather human shaped.)

meanwhile, back in nimbasa; emmet has a verrry weird and verrry bad day.

(it takes him a hot moment to realize ingo is missing. given his being preoccupied on the more immediately noticeable issue as well as the fact that ingo had supposedly gone out to run some errands)

I noticed a bit of a pattern, dragon type Pokémon ( barring desert/completely aerial species) tend to like caves, tunnels and other sheltered areas. Maybe the reason the twin dragon boys like the subway is because not only trains but dragon instincts like the cave vibes the place has.

Oh, that’s a great idea! I like that a lot. I imagine that regular dragons are big fans of spaces where they can control who enters and who leaves, which makes securing their stuff and the safety of their family easier. Maybe dragon type Aspects feel the same instinctive safe feeling underground.

some clarification concerning reshiram!emmet’s lie detector abilities:

- he can tell if someone lying when face to face. when someone does, it gives him an internal ping of sorts

- knowing someone is lying doesn’t tell him how it is a lie, just that what they’ve said is not completely truthful

- this is not full proof. if someone truly believes they are telling the truth, even if it’s not factually true, emmet will not pick it up as a lie

- lying is based off knowledge. he can’t tell if someone is lying or telling the truth if they don’t know the answer to something (ie. he can’t have someone list off random things as fact until what they say reads true if they don’t know the answer to said question already)

- emmet himself can lie, but doing so makes him uncomfortable to the point of pain. he can also tell if he is lying to himself subconsciously

Ok but in the twin dragona au how would the nimbasians react to Ingo just. Disappearing (he got eeby deebied)

They're the only ones to truly understand the gravity of the situation. One of their dragons is gone and they can't even tell anyone, else the other one gets stolen away as well.

The rest of unova is still worried about their Subway Boss, but they don't understand the terror that seems to have nimbasians in a chokehold.

when subway boss ingo went missing unova was loud about it.

broadcasts, newspapers, articles, and headlines all appeared overnight.

it was different in nimbasa. it was quiet there.

they did not panic. but there was a tension in the air. like the calm before storm.

the rest of unova spoke of ingo’s disappearance with worry. nimbasans knew better.

they stayed silent out of fear.

do having the dragons as part of them make this version of ingo and emmet fight more? i can see the constant back and forth between the dragons sometimes playing out between them

they fight more but only on this kind of stuff

I also imagine the local love messing with tourists. Oh you saw Emmet breath fire? Eye problems. You should get that checked out: says a grandma who saw him as a dragon one time

nimbasans watching tourists go out of their minds when everyone reassured them that the subway bosses are very normal when they could have sworn they saw subway boss emmet heat up his pizza by blowing a steady flame on it:

in the twin dragons au: is it common knowledge in universe that the twins are the dragons?

for the residents of nimbasa, it is! for tourists, no. its not exactly a secret but they don’t advertise their identities. think of it as a “your friendly neighborhood dragons type deal” with how they keep it on the down low because they respect their privacy

I can imagine Zekrom Ingo getting struck by a powerful electric attack on the subway platform because of an angry passenger or something and everyone's like 'oh no!'

But Ingo just reprimands them with barely a blink (and looking almost more relaxed? Lol) as Emmet just nonchalantly pats the flames off Ingo's uniform

KSKSKS the subway bosses gains the reputation of being unflappable badasses of a legendary degree and it’s not even because of their legendary pokemon statuses

the tasty snack aside, the angry (and verrry confused) passenger is promptly escorted out

So Ingo has a Chandelure and it's a fire type, and Emmett has joltiks and electric types. The opposite types for the brothers, could it be so they are always together even when separated?

YES!! Exactly! As they were originally one being, it feels right to be near the other (they can vaguely feel the presence of the other within a certain range). Having their aces have the same attributes as the other makes them feel much more comfortable!

The hoarding tragedy continues when he returns to the present bc now he can hoard trains and sweets but not sneasels :(

bold of you to assume that lady sneasler wouldn’t give ingo 8+ sneasels when he went to the future so that he could continue her bloodline and legacy in the future (and so that her kin could continue to watch and be watched over by her warden for years) hoard number 3!!!!

I find it amusing that in Twin Dragon AU, the one with the Joltik hoard is not the electric type. Did Emmet's hoard get started by picking hungry Joltiks off of his tasty delicious static-filled brother

- the joltiks at home feed off ingo (zekrom) at times; this aids in lowering their high electricity bill

- he lets them because he’s nice but it drains him if there are too many at a time

- ingo has a constant static charge to him

Does Emmet ever feel overwhelmed when he senses people lying around him?

I imagine that being in crowded areas may lead to him sensig lots of lies every day.

Oh definitely! Whenever someone lies in his presence, it’s sort of like a pinging noise he hears faintly in his subconscious. He’s since learned to tune these out (since people lie allll the time, as he can even sense white lies) but in overcrowded areas, he’s prone to getting overwhelmed and getting major headaches :(

Dragon submas twins make my brain go brrrrr! I have a question though. When you flirt with them and they get all blushy. Do there dragon features start to show? Their horns, eyes glow, sharp nails, prominent fangs, and all that stuff? Or does it take more than that to bring those features up? I'm genuinely torn and have no clue.

It would take a bit more pushing for them to show their dragon features I think: high levels of adrenaline are what usually does it!

Though because of how naturally warm bodied Emmet is, if you fluster him enough, when he blushes, he blushes verrrrrry hard! (Maybe puffs out a bit of ash and smoke at a particularly unexpected flirt)
