AITA for “getting rid of” anyone that comes by my cave?
Please excuse the bad English, I am mainly familiar with Ancient Greek. I am the sole survivor of my trio of sisters, children of Ceto and Phorcys. It is my duty to preserve the story of me and my sisters, as for the countless centuries I have been alive, not a single poet gets it down right, always making up some twisted version. I am the only one who knows what my sisters were truly like. Medusa’s death by Perseus caused my sister Stheeno to die from heartbreak. I found a new cave to live in and since then I have killed any mortal who treads around my cave. Here’s the dilemma: many of them may have meant no harm. Like, there was a good batch that came to retrieve my head, yes. But according to some, they were just passing by or meant no harm. Of course, I don’t know whether or not to believe them. But I’ve been told that many innocents have died by my hands. Medusa was always fascinated by mortals, she liked their desserts. But I need to stay alive to preserve me and my sister’s stories. But I feel like I’m doing Medusa an injustice, and Stheeno wouldn’t want me to be in so much pain. So, am I the asshole?

You feel the ghost of a hand on your shoulder. There is nothing there, but you feel comforted.
~ She was originally playing with sticks outside the daycare when she felt the hand. She looks around, assuming it might’ve been Micheal, but when she see’s no one, they just shrug. ~
Mio dolce did this so…
Queer Role Call!!
Reblogging this to all my not-straight anons!
~ Looks like while she was running, she crashed into someone equally as teary eyed as her. Falling over, she’s temporarily snapped out of whatever state she was in. ~
~ They fall over, and the impact of running into Briseis hurt, so now they’re crying even harder. Their knees are a bit bruised now. ~
~ When she sees the child, she softens. But only for a moment. She stands and pulls Euryale to her feet without warning, before taking out her marble knife. Looking down upon Ginger Ale, she feels horribly sorry. But in her head, she thinks this is right. ~
Are you stupid? Get back home, now. You’re lucky I’m nice enough not to- not to..
~ She hesitates. ~
You’re lucky I’m nice enough not to get rid of you now. Go on, run home now.
~ In her head, if she scares the child enough, they’ll be cautious in the future. And cautious children are safer then reckless ones. She remembers.. she remembers Chrseis. She remembers how I told her of how I was captured. Reckless. I was stupid and reckless. ~
~ She shrieks at the sight of the knife and runs Al home like they intended. They run as fast as they can, tripping a few times more. Finally, they reach the daycare and burst inside, getting to his room and climbing onto the bed, hiding under the covers. ~

maybe we should go back home!
~ She nods as she runs, not realizing that she’s about the run straight into someone else. ~
~ A child no older then eleven is walking through the forests, looking for something. Upon noticing Tyrant, they hide behind a tree, but stick their head out to look at him. While he may have no memory of what he did to their home, they certainly are a bit cautious of strangers. She stares blankly at the vampire. ~
- @euryale-thegorgon
{He turns to look at the child, taking a deep breath.}
...Can I help you with something?
{They're just sitting on the ground next to a pile of flowers.}
~ They look at xem strangely. Not saying anything yet. Just.. staring. No one has taught them that this isn’t an appropriate way to interact with people. Finally, after an awfully long time of awkward staring, they say something. ~
Your hair is nice looking.
Mm. Thank you.
{He stares at the flowers, paying little attention to the child.}
~ With equally as little regard for Tyrant, he walks up to the flowers and picks one, looking at it closely, before walking back behind the tree. ~
Mm. Thank you.
~ Were they copying what Tyrant was saying? ~
{Their expression turns to annoyance when he picks the flower, but they don't have the energy to say anything about it.}

~ They get a bit excited when xe asks. ~
I named myself after my home!!
~ I think she forgot to actually answer the question. ~
That's nice, but what is your name?
{They now turn their attention to the child.}
Euryale! Heehee
~ They spin the flower around and laugh. If only he knew who he was talking to. ~
{His eye twitches when he hears the name, but he decides not to discuss it further. After all, this child didn't really look like the gorgon he killed.}
That's a lovely name. My name is Tyrant.
I know! My home was so cool. Before they died. Tryant. Tyrant. Tyrant. Tyraaant.
~ They say the name a few times over, giggling as they do. ~
So you named yourself after your home...
Your home was named Euryale?
{Xe begins putting the pieces together now, but still keeps calm. He doesn't want to hurt them if he doesn't have to.}
Mhm! I lived on her head. There were more of me, but I was the only one that didn’t stay a snake.
~ They throw the flower into the air and watch as it glides down. ~
{They inhale sharply.}
Ah.
{He decides to instead focus on the flower gliding down. His face doesn't show any emotion.}
Why’re you named Tyrant? That’s a fun name. Tyrant. Tyrant.
~ They pick up the flower and throw it up again. ~
Oh, I just kind of came up with it. It's been my name as long as I can remember.
I had an old one that I was given by my parents, but...
{He glances at the ground.}
I didn't really like it.
Ohh, I see. I didn’t have a name before my home died. I didn’t need it! I think my home and his sisters came up with their names too.
~ They stop for a moment to look at him. ~
Do you know where people go when they die?
~ Jeez, that was morbid. ~
{He inhales sharply again, looking back to the pile of flowers.}
No, I don't.
Aw. My home became flowers, but I’m not like my home. When I get older I’m going to die and I wanted to know if I would become flowers too, or if I would go somewhere else.
~ He begins to run in circles around the tree, throwing the flower up and down like a ball. ~
{A tear runs down his cheek, but he quickly wipes it away.}
I see.
I see. I see. I seeeeee!
~ They giggle as they repeat the words. She doesn’t understand how upset they’ve made Tyrant. ~
Are you a god?
Ah, no. But I am immortal...for the most part.
Ohhh, you’re like my home and their sisters then!
~ They run over and sit next to Tyrant. ~
Tyrant Tyrant Tyrant Tyrant Tyrant!!!
~ It seems like the like to say the name. ~
{His expression turns bitter.}
I have nothing in common with your home.
Really? Okay! Tyrant Tyrant Tyrant
~ She giggles as she takes another flower and spins it around in her hands. ~
My new home is really cool too!!
That's nice.
{He watches them take the flower. It hurts, but xe says nothing.}
My home really liked flowers. Do you like flowers? I like flowers. I like the big ones that grow on rocks, more flowers!
~ She hands Xem the biggest flower they can find. ~
Big flower for you! It’s pretty, right?
Yes, I like flowers.
{He takes the big flower.}
Thank you.
{They lay it on the pile with the other flowers.}
I think you’re very cool, Tyrant. Tyrant Tyrant Tyrant. If you like flowers then I think that’s makes us similar! Even if you aren’t similar to my home. Maybe you’re similar to my new home! Where’s your home?
{He inhales again. They're getting really annoyed.}
I don't have a home.
Oh, do you want a home?
~ They can sort of tell he’s getting a bit upset now, but they don’t really know what to do. Or why he’s getting upset. ~
No. I don't.
Really? That’s cool. You’re really cool, Tyrant. I want to be as cool as you. How do you do it?
Thanks.
{He stands, fists clenched and shaking.}
~ They stand up with xem, taking hold of their hand, giggling. ~
Where are you going?
~ They realize that his hands are clenched like a fist and instinctively let go. They don’t know why. They look up at Tyrant. ~
....Just got tired of sitting.
Can I show you something, Tyrant?
~ They don’t even wait for an answer. She takes Tyrant’s hands and pull him along through the forest. Not far away, meowing can be heard. She points up, to a cat stuck in a tree branch. ~
I don’t think it should be up there.
{He starts breathing heavily and starts frantically climbing the tree on instinct.}
RUFFLES?! RUFFLES IS THAT YOU?!
{It's obviously not his dead cat, but after what he just went through, he's still clinging onto some kind of hope.}
~ He gets scared by the yelling, moving back immediately and watching Tyrant climb the tree. ~
What..?
{He pays no attention to the kid anymore, tears streaming down his face. He quickly reaches the tree branch and grabs the cat, frantically climbing downwards.}
I have to save you this time, Ruffles... I have to...
{Xe reaches the ground and finally realizes it's not Ruffles. He gently sets down the cat and wipes away his tears.}
...Sorry about that.
~ She looks at him, a bit scared. She’s never seen an outburst of emotions like that before. He’s crying now. ~
Wha-what??
...It's a long story.
{They do nothing to comfort the child.}
~ They just stare at him and.. bolt in the other direction. They didn’t know what was going on so they decide to find their new home again. ~

~ They look at xem strangely. Not saying anything yet. Just.. staring. No one has taught them that this isn’t an appropriate way to interact with people. Finally, after an awfully long time of awkward staring, they say something. ~
Your hair is nice looking.
Mm. Thank you.
{He stares at the flowers, paying little attention to the child.}
~ With equally as little regard for Tyrant, he walks up to the flowers and picks one, looking at it closely, before walking back behind the tree. ~
Mm. Thank you.
~ Were they copying what Tyrant was saying? ~
{Their expression turns to annoyance when he picks the flower, but they don't have the energy to say anything about it.}
So, what's your name?
So, what’s your-
~ They get a bit excited when xe asks. ~
I named myself after my home!!
~ I think she forgot to actually answer the question. ~
That's nice, but what is your name?
{They now turn their attention to the child.}
Euryale! Heehee
~ They spin the flower around and laugh. If only he knew who he was talking to. ~
{His eye twitches when he hears the name, but he decides not to discuss it further. After all, this child didn't really look like the gorgon he killed.}
{Xe begins putting the pieces together now, but still keeps calm. He doesn't want to hurt them if he doesn't have to.}
Mhm! I lived on her head. There were more of me, but I was the only one that didn’t stay a snake.
~ They throw the flower into the air and watch as it glides down. ~
{They inhale sharply.}
Ah.
{He decides to instead focus on the flower gliding down. His face doesn't show any emotion.}
Why’re you named Tyrant? That’s a fun name. Tyrant. Tyrant.
~ They pick up the flower and throw it up again. ~
Oh, I just kind of came up with it. It's been my name as long as I can remember.
I had an old one that I was given by my parents, but...
{He glances at the ground.}
I didn't really like it.
Ohh, I see. I didn’t have a name before my home died. I didn’t need it! I think my home and his sisters came up with their names too.
~ They stop for a moment to look at him. ~
Do you know where people go when they die?
~ Jeez, that was morbid. ~
{He inhales sharply again, looking back to the pile of flowers.}
No, I don't.
Aw. My home became flowers, but I’m not like my home. When I get older I’m going to die and I wanted to know if I would become flowers too, or if I would go somewhere else.
~ He begins to run in circles around the tree, throwing the flower up and down like a ball. ~
{A tear runs down his cheek, but he quickly wipes it away.}
I see.
I see. I see.
{His expression turns bitter.}
I have nothing in common with your home.
Really? Okay! Tyrant Tyrant Tyrant
~ She giggles as she takes another flower and spins it around in her hands. ~
My new home is really cool too!!
That's nice.
{He watches them take the flower. It hurts, but xe says nothing.}
My home really liked flowers. Do you like flowers? I like flowers. I like the big ones that grow on rocks, more flowers!
~ She hands Xem the biggest flower they can find. ~
Big flower for you! It’s pretty, right?
Yes, I like flowers.
{He takes the big flower.}
Thank you.
{They lay it on the pile with the other flowers.}
I think you’re very cool, Tyrant. Tyrant Tyrant Tyrant. If you like flowers then I think that’s makes us similar! Even if you aren’t similar to my home. Maybe you’re similar to my new home! Where’s your home?
{He inhales again. They're getting really annoyed.}
Thanks.
{He stands, fists clenched and shaking.}
~ They stand up with xem, taking hold of their hand, giggling. ~
Where are you going?
~ They realize that his hands are clenched like a fist and instinctively let go. They don’t know why. They look up at Tyrant. ~
~ A child no older then eleven is walking through the forests, looking for something. Upon noticing Tyrant, they hide behind a tree, but stick their head out to look at him. While he may have no memory of what he did to their home, they certainly are a bit cautious of strangers. She stares blankly at the vampire. ~
