Did you know? #Oak was eventually changed to #Java when #Sun found that there was already a computer company registered as #OAK.

Java’s Magic: The bytecode
Java solves both the security and portability and magic behind this is byte code. The output of compiler is interpreted by JVM not as an executable code rather, it is a bytecode. Java run time system which is called Java Virtual Machine or JVM executes a highly set of instructions as bytecode. Java is an exception, because the outcome of the compiler of many languages is an executable code because of performance concern.
However, the Java Virtual Machine solves many complex associated with web based programs. For example: It is easier to run a Java program to a variety of environment because JVM interprets the Java code into byte code. Any Java program can be run on variety of different platform by only implementing the Java Virtual Machine for each platform. This help in enforcing the security because Java Virtual Machine prevent from generating the fallout.
Now, the question arises of response time of an application due to the interpretation of code into a byte code and not in executable by JVM for different platforms. However, the bytecode is highly optimized which enables Java Virtual Machine to execute the program at much faster pace than you might expect.

Why there is a need for Java? When C and C++ already exist.
Why there is a need for java when c and c++ already exist.
There is no surprise asking why there is a need for Java when C and C++ already exist. This article is a cornerstone and will surely answer all your questions and doubts. Java Programming Language was written by James Gosling along with two other person ‘Mike Sheridan‘ and ‘Patrick Naughton’. During the period they both worked for Sun Microsystems. It was originally named Oak. Very few know that most of the Java’s characters are taken from the two prior languages that are C and C++. Java inherits the object oriented nature from C++ and adopted its syntax from C. This section helps you understand the need and forces which derives the creation of Java. It is obvious that the preceding languages could not solve the fundamental problem. This is the foremost reason which gave birth to the creation of Java.
Let’s first examine the need for the prior languages like C and C++.
The nascence of modern programming language C.
Before the invention of C, there were programming languages which fails to solve the fundamental problem of the programming world to write fair, powerful, structural codes for large programs. For an instance, the codes written in BASIC are not highly powerful and structural though it’s easy due to which BASIC not fits for large programs. On the other hand, assembly languages produce highly efficient codes. But they are very difficult to learn due to which it is not easy to use them for writing efficient codes. The problem persists and the programmers had to make an option between languages that optimized one set of instructions.
As we examine FORTRAN with no doubt writes the codes for scientific applications, the programs written in FORTRAN are highly efficient but it lacks ability be used for system code. The problem with these languages are they were not designed on the structural principles. Due to which it is impossible to understand the program. Also there are programming languages like Pascal which are structured, but they lack on efficiency.
So, prior to the inventions of C, there was no language which solves all the above needs. In the beginning of 1970s, the world start witnessing the computer revolution. And the swift increase for software from various section of life outperforming programmers’ ability to develop it. Due to which the need of the hour was felt to develop a language which shun the entire fundamental program to match the speed of computer industry revolution. Dennis Ritchie, in 1970s gave birth to C language which shook the entire computer world. Because C carves out a niche towards building a new programming world. The need of a structured, efficient, high-level language that could replace assembly code when creating systems programs headed the way of C creation. And therefore C replaced the assembly code for system programs.
C was formally standardized in December 1989, when the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard for C was adopted.
Before the invention of C, a computer language mainly used for two purposes either academic researches or by bureaucratic committees. C broke all the myths because it was developed with the beginning of computer revolution. Thus creating ample opportunities for programmers to develop codes for variety of purposes. Thus, C matches the real world needs by producing programming job opportunities globally.
Indeed, C rapidly becomes the first and foremost choice in the programmer community. Similar, Java receives same legacy.
Join our free online course to learn: In the age of Internet, you don't always need a classroom, eUstaad design free online courses to learn in your space.
We - a few like minded people join hands to provide a platform where not only everyone gets online education for free, but also promoting equal opportunities for all so that they can change their lives too.
