You know those friends that just change your life completely? This one. My Yam. We were thick as thieves before ever meeting face to face and I haven't seen her in far too long, but it doesn't fucking matter and that's the best part. She's a scholar, an activist, an artist, and truly knows what it means to be a global citizen. She pays attention and she always speaks up. She puts herself in uncomfortable situations for the greater good and stands her ground. She also works her ass off. Feeling a bit cool to be able to call friend. I'm a big piece of human cheese so I call this The Totem Pole of Bliss. I'm so happy to call them tribe. First things first (not technically but whatever), WE LOOK AWFUL (except @ccardillo you're killing it), but holy shit I love these people so much. Life is weird and crazy and sometimes stressful, but it all stops (for a moment) on Sunday night. Together we eat a meal spearheaded by a designated roommate, we drink too much (me), eat really delicious plant-y desserts (thanks @jessiedit), dance, and laugh until we gotta turn down for Monday. If you're in SF on a Sunday evening, you're welcome and please come over! The wine is good and the music is better. And life is better yet. Hooray! To lifelong friends! (Fall 2014) Cole on our first date without his sister. He made this face he entire time. Tough crowd. He took the longest out of any kid I've watched (approx. a trillion) to warm up to me, even after we were spending every morning together. Eventually he stopped screaming bloody murder when I walked in the front door and we left the tale of unrequited love far behind us (no matter what he tries to tell you). Almost a year and a half later, he's one of my favorite humans on this Earth and I think he likes me pretty okay too...sometimes (at San Francisco, California)
