TAJ thoughts (pt. 3)

Frigg/Hanna is really cool, and I like her character; and she breathing life back into Michele

Anders is a great character, tbh. He really cares for Dawn, and his family, and he still has limits when it comes to his Bragi powers--and also doing them for good, & he's a complex character. He can be a terrible person sometimes (a lot) as well, but he does care too.

Gaia Earth Goddess origins--but I wish that Idunn's essence didn't go into her, as she had to fight the urge to be with Bragi (Anders) which Gaia didn't want, but instead be with Axl. And I love that she decided that she wanted to travel  & see the world, instead of trying to continue to fight an inevitable destiny--and take matters into her own hands and live the life she wants.

Yess, to Colin getting the justice he deserves, and I love that Michele kicked him in the groin, and Mike defeating him and calling him a loser. And, Ty turning his arm to ice. :DD Colin's so horrible to everyone, and it was terrible to hear him talk about Dawn like that... >

I really liked the ending of TAJ, and that Odin revived Michele, and that even though the mortals no longer remember the now mortal Gods/Goddesses--I loved how Ty gave the video to Gaia that she and him made beforehand--and also Zeb meeting Axl again. And it doesn't seem forced, but natural instead, for both meetings, and a promise that things could develop once again between them.

“Regrettably,” she began, a solemn resonance to her words, “You died." 

There was a lot of guilt weighing on Hela’s words to her previous vessel. Her problems, bad as they had been, were not near chaotic as recounted amongst those who would watch them spiral until Hel became Eva. 

Being Hel would always come at a detriment to those whos body she inhabited.

A small smile wore across lips bare of  Eva’s disdain, "Fortunately, you unknowingly earnt my favour. And I brought you back, as you once were."

“Yeah, I thought as much, when Agnetha locked me up in the freezer.”

Eva had highly doubted that she could survive that long period of time in Ty’s freezing ice carving room. Nevertheless, this didn’t seem like either Heaven or Hell to her, as she glanced around to ascertain her whereabouts.

Uncertainty flickers in her eyes, at her mirror image’s next words.

“You...you brought me back? How? Are you Hel, or somethin’?”

            "You really are a grumpy,             grumpy gills. aren’t you?”

      Apparently just the one injury to his genitals wasn’t enough for one day, because he didn’t seem to be getting the message.

“Yeah, I guess I am, but just don’t be rude again, alright?”

She wasn’t in the mood to put up with people annoying her today.

      ” Family that, funnily enough, doesn’t extend to         family by marriage. Or goddesses. “   He added         the last bit impatiently, trying to get  the point across         as quickly as he could, lest he spend one second         longer than he had to tracking down his brother         who couldn’t bother to answer his phone when         it was actually important.                              ” Did he say when he would be back ? “

"And why not?"

The words came out of her mouth, laced with a touch of venom.  She should have a right to know what they were to talk about, especially if it involved talking negatively about her.

"Soon...like in a few hours, or somethin'."

"I imagine this is quite disorientating for you." Hel said. She still looked a mirror image of the woman who stood before her, but her voice was calmer, more regal and precise. Before, her presence was only felt in times of duress or great emotion on Eva’s behalf. But now, the room did not carry the same weight as it had all the days before. The shadows were longer, the light was brighter and the air breathed harshly. It would take Eva a while to even fully see Hel, as she was, without the guise of a vessel. "For that, I am sorry."

The colour slowly started to return to Eva's cheeks, and she takes a deep shuddering breath. Her body jolts in surprise, at seeing the exact image of herself standing there, although the other one seemed not completely corporeal.

"W-what happened? 

It felt like a immense presence had left her, like a great weight had been lifted from the depths of her soul. 

She remembered Agnetha locking her up in the ice carving room, and she having no way out--and, finally, after many hours of trying to fight her way out to escape, she had slumped up against the back wall, awaiting her inevitable demise.

"And, déjà vu, much?"

         The Doctor, Last of the Time Lords, Predator, Oncoming Storm, anticlimactically fell to the ground with a rather pathetic totally dignified groan.

      “—what the hell was that for?”

   not that he didn’t deserve it

Eva crossed her arms, glancing down at him lying on the ground.

"It's for being a prick, that's what. There's no need to be rude to me, we hardly even know each other."

She felt a twinge of satisfaction, at successfully, kicking the stranger in the balls.

"You don't know the half of it. Who are you, anyway?"

     ” Family things. ”   His eyes make a slow sweep        across the parts of the house directly in his line        of vision — looking; assessing. Glancing back        at the door for only a second  ( as if Ty would        come through at that precise moment and        rescue him from the awkward pause between        him and the goddess who was decidedly not        Frigg   ), he sees it as still as when he’d shut it        behind him.  ”Did he say where he was going?        It’s kind of important. “

"Well, I'm part of the family too, now. If you haven't noticed."

She noticed Anders' eyes sweep the house, and shifted her posture a little, a slight uncomfortable with the pause.

"No, he didn't, actually. Unless you'd like to wait here, until he gets back."

That wasn't a particularly exciting prospect to look forward to--Anders staying here for any amount of time, but she wanted to get to know what he wanted to talk to Ty about.

"My brother will hunt me down and stop me." She snorted, even though the brother she was speaking of was all the way back in America and she never told him where she was going. "Uh, not really, but your voice is nice."

"That's kind of harsh. Does he not like you drinking, or something? You should do what you want."

"Thank you." Her smile grew wider. "I'm Eva, by the way."

" Ella Wells, pleasure. Now, what kind of flowers are you looking for.? I actually have, some trees; some plants and other green life. Actually I have everything nature prone here.”

"Good to meet you too, I s'pose.  I'm Eva. Hmm...not sure, actually."

Her eyes trail to the many vibrant and colourful plants and flowers, so full of life and fervour. Such a contrast to what her powers could do, when angered.

"What would you suggest?"

GAIA ❤❤ I really like that she speaks out against the fates, and wants her own destiny, and she is awesome and kind and sweet, and... :D

 TY/DAWN <3 They're so adorable together, and both characters are incredible. 

And Axl is becoming another favourite character too, and Gaia/Axl is also cute.

and I didn't expect Natalie to show up to the door with a crossbow! The God Hunters are really interesting (i want to know more about them, and how Anders alerted them of his presence, in Norway.)

& although I did make a post on my Aslaug blog about s1 a few days ago...I'll say it here too, along similar lines to it::

The Almighty Johnsons is an unique, interesting and brilliant take on Norse Gods/Goddesses in a modern setting, in a very real, uncensored, extremely light-hearted/comedic and yet also dramatic, serious manner. And I love how these genres all blend together really naturally & the actors/actresses are fantastic, and bring out their characters really well.

TAJ thoughts

I really miss Eva/Hel tbh. D: She was an incredible & layered character--with both good and not-so-good intentions, and coping on her own, with no knowledge of her powers and what was happening to her. And she tries to be really strong regardless, wanting to pave her own path in life, & not wanting people to judge her--especially with her music being where she can express herself, and I like how Eva & Axl seemed to become friends, and Axl could see how horribly her dad was treating her, and was kind to her. And, I wish there were more scenes of them talking & continuing being friends in s2~

I really love the relationship developed between Ty and Eva. They truly seem to understand each other's darkest deepest desires, and insecure and dark thoughts, and she & him both feel like they can unleash all their inner pent-up fury and frustration, to each other. I can also see how unhealthy the marriage was the longer they were in it, but also see 2 people with a similar temperament & trying to cope with their destructive powers together, and trying to make the best of their marriage. And they both understand how it feels to be abandoned by their parents. Also, in that first look they shared at the party, they felt this pull of attraction, a connection.  And I also thought their chemistry was really powerful and electrifying.

I can understand Agnetha''s reasoning of killing Eva, although I really wish she hadn't, and Eva didn't deserve death. ;_;  It was a really drastic action && it was horrible to watch her kill Eva, and although they most likely wouldn't be able to talk reason to each other, there could have been a group intervention of sorts with everyone present (including Eva) (although, not Colin...), and/or more talking between Eva and Ty. 

And I really wish more words were exchanged at the funeral pyre...although... seeing Ty's face ;____;

...And I also completed s2 yesterday, so my next post will have more of my thoughts, tbh.

        He shifts, shoving his hands into his pockets         and trying not to look too pleased with himself.         It doesn’t take a genius to see his presence is         …unwanted, for lack of a better word, at least by         the dark cloud in front of him  ( and knowing he’s         the sole reason for interrupting some plan is         oddly satisfying ). 

     " Boy, nothing gets past you, does it? Is he here? "

She rolls her eyes, not in the mood for Anders' games right now. She then pauses, at his question if Ty was here, and she frowns slightly. She recalled Ty had said to her that he'd be back soon, but didn't specify where he was going.

"That's just 'bout right. And, no, actually. He's out, but should be home soon. What did you need to talk to him about?"
