carterdewinter:
“Ignoring the fact that optimism is a lie, how the fuck is telling people to guess optimism?” he asked, not really following her logic with that statement.
“It just seems to be a common trait I notice. I don’t know, forget about it. Whatever.” Eva knew where she was going with that, she just didn’t want to embarrass herself by trying to carry it out.
rileyheartfield:
“I’m afraid I haven’t seen it” Riley replied, glancing around as she spoke. “I can help you look for it though”.
“That sucks, I guess.” Eva muttered, her eyes downcast. “Okay. Uh, I left it right over here. I walk up over there to get a pen and It’s gone.”
marissxhunt:
“Well — thank you.2 She smiled across to the other woman. “It’s appreciated.”
“Yeah. I didn’t really like them anyway.” She nodded. “Hopefully you like them more than I do.”
joxdoherty:
“Me too. I always wanted to be as cool as her but I don’t think that’s possible. For me, at least. Very uncool in every single way,” she muttered while looking around in the hopes of spotting the book in question. “Well, then we’ll look for it. Books can’t run away.”
“I really don’t think anyone can be as cool as her.” Eva laughed, searching in corners and looking under shelves. “Maybe someone stole it. That would suck.” She sighed, hands on hips in defeat. “Hopefully It’s still here.”
joxdoherty:
“The one by Amanda Palmer?” Jo’s face lit up as she heard the voice asking about one of her favourite books. “I haven’t seen it, I’m sorry, but I will gladly help you to look for it. When did you last have it? Or remember seeing it?”
“Yeah. I love her music.” Eva smiled, biting her cheek as she listened to the other woman. “It was over here. I went to grab a pen a few minutes ago and now I can’t remember where I put it.”
marissxhunt:
“Do you want me to buy you anything else?” Marissa asked with a raise of an eyebrow. She nodded her head as she continued to speak .”Are you sure?”
“No. It’s fine. I can afford some chips on a Software Designer budget.” She smiled, looking down at her lap. “I assure you.”
james-reynolds:
“I can’t say I have, but we could look for it? It can’t have gone far.” James gave the woman a friendly smile.
“We? Alright. Sure. Uh, that’s cool. It was over here when I lost it, hopefully we won’t have to look for too long.” Eva sighed, already starting to look the room over.
hiddenprinceray:
Ray shuffled around and looked for the book in question and found it on the floor. “What’s it about?” He asked as he juggled books on democracy and Marxism.
“Thanks. Uh, it’s a memoir, self help kind of thing. It isn’t everyone’s type.” She looked at some of the titles the man carried and was slightly daunted, but also intrigued. “Now that I’m thinking about it, it might not be yours.”
ladybridgetstewart:
“The art of asking what?” Bridget joked, giving a small laugh as she went over to see if she could see the book anywhere. The sighed of Eva biting her nails made the girl feel a bit weird, she dipped into her bag and pulled out some hand sanitizer for her, passing it over. If she was going to chew on her nails they might as well be clean in the redheads opinion.
“The Art of Asking. How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help. It’s a pretty cool book, I guess.” Eva shifted her posture. “It’s a self help book. Good read.” She gave an awkward smile, looking anywhere but the other woman’s face. She knew she wasn’t being polite, which was irking her to the core, but she really wanted to find her book and end this conversation. Her gaze drifted to a bottle of hand sanitizer, courtesy of Bridget. “Thanks, I guess.”
“I think I dropped my book over here. The Art Of Asking. White cover. Have you seen it?” Eva smiled awkwardly, fighting the urge to bite her nails. “I was right in the middle of it. I would hate if I lost it.”
“So moral of a story, don’t fall asleep around twins because you will end up looking like a raccoon afterwards” he said with a light laugh, “be honest, does this really look that bad?”
“I don’t think I would fall asleep around anyone with immediate access to a writing utensil.” She smiled awkwardly. “You look hilarious. It’s something you should work with.”
“Are you done with that food?” Marissa asked, not waiting for their reply before she reached over to take a chip from the other persons plate. “I know - I know. That’s totally rude of me but i - I’m so hungry. i’m sorry. I’ll pay you back.”
“Uh, yeah. It’s fine, go ahead. I wasn’t really feeling it anyway.” Eva laughed, passively scoffing it off. “It isn’t rude at all – all. You don’t have to pay for anything.”
