“ i think, ” she began. to be fair, she didn’t know what to think. camryn had a well played mask to hide how she was really feeling. since the moment that night, everyone running to their victory for that call home, she wasn’t the same, then again who was? that bloody shoe would haunt her, everyone on this island, with the same question: what happened to evie? it made her uncomfortable, worried. none of this was what they agreed to. this wasn’t a vacation. this was hell. “… i think arthur knows this, and doesn’t want to face charges for a girl going missing at his hand.”
“I don’t think anyone would want to face charges because someone went missing.” Evan wasn’t sure what else to say, so he shrugged a bit. “He’s going to automatically go onto a list of suspects that the police have. This is his place, he controls everything and I think he knows a lot more about all of us than he let’s us believe. He could be in on it. The police aren’t going to clear him though.”
emma could hear the sirens from the house, the flashing lights were enough to give her flashbacks of the car accident that she tried so hard to forget everyday. her heart pounded as she made her way out, headed toward what was going on.
emma made her way around to find her friends, ronnie, gabriel, anyone she could put a name to their face, she had to look at them make sure they were alright, something to put her panic at ease, she knew of the scavenger hunt but she didn’t want to participate, it was supposed to be a simple scavenger hunt. “what’s going on? what’s wrong?” she asked quickly, her voice breathless as she ran her hand through her hair. “why are there cops here?”
When Evan saw Emma approaching him, he shook his head. “I don’t know what’s going on. They won’t tell me anything,” he told her, his eyes moving over toward two cops and watching the communicate. Something was wrong and he could tell by the look on their faces. “They’re here to find out what’s going on. I wish they’d let me help, but I don’t have jurisdiction here.”
pierson didn’t sleep. he didn’t read. he didn’t listen to music. he laid on his bed with his eyes wide open simply glaring at the ceiling. he couldn’t get the image of evie’s bloody shoe out of his mind. the voice over the speaker .. who could that have been? was that evie’s murderer? he must’ve been watching them this whole time. something else pierson couldn’t shake was … was he still watching them? pierson sat up from his bed, afraid to move. he couldn’t be alone anymore. his thoughts were eating him alive. instead, he found himself in the kitchen. he moved slowly and carefully, the thought that someone could be watching him at that very moment still plaguing his mind. he sat at the bar stools with his bowl of cereal. slowly, he ate, hoping someone would come into the kitchen to save him from being alone.
Evan didn’t like what was happening on the island. This was supposed to be a vacation. If he wanted to be in the middle of a crime scene, he would have stayed back in NYC. It was hard for him to stay out of everything. His natural instinct was to try and help the police - but it wasn’t in his place. He wasn’t allowed to and not being allowed to bothered him to his core. “How you holding up?” he asked, walking into the kitchen and looking for something to eat.
adam’s jaw unhinged at the scene playing out in front of him. the coconut cradled in his arms plummeted soundlessly; the blaring sirens overshadowed every but ronnie’s wet sobs. everything seemingly happened in slow motion despite the fact that it lasted only seconds. the shrill howl, the weeping — the cops. the man’s stomach churned at the sign of the flashing lights. memories flooded his mind of being taken to the scene of his parent’s deaths, of the mangled car, of the ride to the hospital to officially pronounce them dead. adam’s breath became short and shallow as his knees folded underneath him. every cry from ronnie’s mouth morphed into blake screaming for their mother.
Ever since the cops showed up, Evan stopped acting like an undercover cop. He tried to stay out of their crime scene, but he couldn’t help it. He was told numerous times that this wasn’t New York and he couldn’t help. They were right, he didn’t have any jurisdiction. Evan noticed Adam, his eyebrows furrowing at him. He looked upset, but who wouldn’t be upset? Evan had a calm exterior but that was because he was used to this kind of stuff.
she couldn’t deny the eerie feeling that settled upon the island, though to venice ignorance was bliss. she’d always been an escapist, running away from her problems or drowning them in a liquor that’d cause her to mentally sail away. this habit carried onward to the island, consuming far more alcohol than her petite body could handle. juice pouch in hand — already cut off for the night — she’d approached the male who’d seemed far too sober to be at the bar. “maybe i’m just too drunk, but you’re not.” a small giggle escaped her lips as she bit down on the narrow yellow straw. “honey, we need to get you a drink, loosen up a bit.” words flying out of her mouth as her tongue tripped on syllables. she’d be impressed if he could even proper understand her, between the auctioneer speed and underlying giggles. “excuse me! bartender!” she shouted for what had to be the millionth time this night. “i need you to get this man the strongest drink you have.” she screamed, obnoxiously pointing in his direction. “and another capri sun!”
Evan tilted his head to the side and looked at her with a slightly confused look. She was drunk, but not too drunk to have a conversation with him and admit she was drunk. “I don’t like to drink much,” he told her, his hand lifting up and moving in a waving form. “Maybe you should follow my lead and not drink. A water would probably be good for you, don’t you agree?” he asked. When she yelled to the bartender, he shook his head. “I’ll be fine with just a water. Thank you.” Evan looked back at her, an eyebrow raising. “Do you mind not standing so close to me? It’s making me slightly uncomfortable and your screaming is not being very friendly to my ears.”
rowan had been at the bar for a good two hours now and he’s pretty sure he had consumed way too many mojitos. but in his mind, he deserved to get a little intoxicated. especially since at the moment, everyone was a little on edge due to evie’s sudden disappearance and rowan won’t lie, the whole situation left him with this uneasy feeling. so yeah, he definitely deserved a drink or two. maybe more. and so far, the beverages he had consumed did in fact manage to put him in a much better mood. to others, he probably looked like a proper fool – especially considering he had been giggling nonstop for the past twenty minutes. no one could blame him for being really happy, though. not when the last mojito he had was really good and the music playing was extremely catchy. he hummed along and turned to face the bartender so he could get himself yet another drink, but stopped when he noticed a familiar man sitting by himself. for some reason, said guy was looking around and scribbling away inside of his notebook, which rowan found rather odd.. and boring. “hey,” he exclaimed, standing up and making his way over to him. “whatcha doing sitting here all by yourself?” he asked, his lips stretching to form a ridiculous grin. “and why are you writing, dude? shouldn’t you be like… doing shots or something? that’s so lame. why come to a bar if you’re just gonna sit there with a notebook?”
Evan looked over at the other when they spoke to him. He wasn’t sure if he should tell him the truth or keep it to himself. Usually things worked out better when he didn’t say anything. For all he knew, the person in front of him could be involved in Evie’s disappearance. He didn’t think so but he also wasn’t planning on ruling anyone out anytime soon. “I’m just writing random things, nothing interesting.” Evan closed the notebook and placed it inside of his pocket along with his pen. “The bar’s not too bad, don’t you think? There’s a lot you can see from here and it’s somewhat relaxing. If you’d like to drink, don’t let me stop you,” he told the other, gesturing over toward the bartender who seemed occupied with making a drink for someone.
Trying to keep his mind off of everything that happened back home was getting harder to not think about. In the beginning, it wasn’t too hard. He had been able to shut off the detective in him for a few months. The moment he found out about Evie’s disappearance, it has all come back to him. So many of his cases running through his mind, but the that involved his friend was the biggest one. He didn’t know much about the girl, but he did know her disappearance made people on the island nervous. There were some much more bothered than others, but the disappearance still seemed to be effecting others in someway. Even though a lot of people seem to be moving on, he can’t help but wonder where she is. Did she leave the island and if so, how? Was she lost someone? Did someone take her? There were a lot of possibilities and a few people he considered “suspects” but it was too soon to tell. Evan sat down at the bar with a notebook in and pen in his hand. He was jotting down things he was observing, taking notes on other’s behaviors. Even if it had nothing to do with the girl disappearing, this was something he enjoyed doing. He liked studying people and trying to find a pattern of their behavior.
It’s Zo! Ready to hear about Evan?! I’m writing this half asleep, but I can’t sleep, so I’m writing it now. I apologize ahead of time if something makes zero sense. Also Evan is one of my favorite male muses and I’ve had him a while now, so please love him.
[ THEO JAMES ] - EVAN REYNOLDS IS A THIRTY-TWO YEAR OLD, CISMALE KNOWN AS THE GUARDIAN, AND THAT’S BECAUSE HE IS PROTECTIVE AND OBSERVANT AS WELL AS STUBBORN AND NOSEY. HE IS ENJOYING HIS STAY AT THE ISLE OF GEMINI, A LONG WAY FROM THEIR HOMETOWN OF NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK. HE NEEDED THIS VACATION TO GET THEIR MIND OFF PUTTING HIS FRIEND IN JAIL.
Now let me attempt to elaborate on him.
Evan has always had a huge passion for criminal justice. When he was little, he was always wanting to solve cases and help people out. He dreamt about being a detective but he knew he would have to start from the bottom. He first worked at a call center during college and then went to the police academy. After graduating, he officially became an officer. It took him a while before he became a detective, but the minute he did, he was thrilled and proud of himself.
He came to Gemini because of his passion for his work. It takes it seriously, sometimes too seriously. His friend was involved in drug dealing and Evan knew about it. He found out doing his work and he hated that he found the information. He struggled for weeks whether or not to tell his boss about it. He cared a lot about his friend, but he knew if they found out and he was hiding something, he’d get in trouble for withholding evidence. So, he turned his friend in and hoped he could talk to the DA to give him a deal or a lighter sentence.
He’s one of the most protective people you can meet and it helps a lot with his line of work. He is always wanting to protect people. If he sees something wrong, his first instinct is to evaluate the problem and see if he can help the person. If someone is hurt or in danger, he does everything in his power to fix it.
He thought that being on the island would be good for him, a way for him to get his mind off of turning in his friend. He thought he wouldn’t have to think about his job, but then someone went missing and he went into detective mode. He interviewed literally everyone he could find and he was coming up clueless. He got suspicious of Amelia (I know don’t judge.) because she had been really weird the night of the party. So he’s been keeping an eye out on that one.
He knows how to be stubborn and he is a very nosey person. He liked to know everything that is going on because it helps fill his hierarchy of needs. He feels protected and safe if he knows what is going on. Secrets are not something he likes. In his experience, secrets are what got people hurt, what got people put in dangerous places. So when he feels someone is hiding something or acting suspicious, he needs to know what it is.
He identified as pansexual, but is more of an emotional person. He doesn’t like casual relationships or flings. He’s the kind of guy who wants to settle down, get married, have a family - the whole shebang. He tends to fall for people easily but then he usually gets himself hurt because he is always so far ahead of his partner.
He is open for plotting with literally anyone, so just send me an IM!
