The most annoying people in The 100 fandom are the ones that blame Maya entirely for Jasper's depression. There were literally so many factors to this and people act like he didn't even try to change too. It's always the same two arguments: "He turned out this way for a girl he knew for 2 weeks" and "He acted like he was the only one that lost someone" when literally neither is true. He got better, then met Shay, who gave him new hope, but immediately watched her die again. And he very well knew that others were suffering too (thus why he tried helping Octavia when she was grieving Lincoln in Arkadia etc.). He did in fact not feel seen or understood by the people that tried to help him, which was admittedly a bit off. Either way I just feel like he was a realistic depiction of what happens when you send a teenager down to earth to die, when they have not matured through trauma like the others did. Yes everyone had it absolutely horrible during this time, Jasper just handled it differently.

I hope someday people in this fandom will understand that he was not an asshole, but rather a traumatised child, who didn't know how to deal with the situation. It's completely normal to react to death like that, especially considering that Jasper got ptsd from being speared. I don't even know how some people completely ignore that with him, just to blatantly hate on him. Yes he was a comic relief character and it was tragic that he changed this way, but given that he is comic, it just implies, that he is less mature and unable to handle things like the others did. I hope this somehow makes sense 💔. I truly think the hate for Jasper is also deeply rooted in the misunderstandings people still have with mental illness and traumas today. It's still (unfortunately) common in today's society.

I had to yap about this, because the way Jasper is being hated on annoys me. Yes he did some assholish things, but most of the time that is not what he is blamed for and people instead just minimise his complex character merely to losing Maya. I just dearly wish he was not so misunderstood by a lot of people out there. It is fair to dislike and criticize a character, but at least base it off something more logical, than a short love story he had in a completely new scenario (where he was also put into the role as the leader, when he never did anything like it before).

What cracks me up about this episode is the random people and their reactions to Bellamy being so desperate to find Clarke. They haven’t seen the kids in four, five months and so much has changed. And then there’s Bellamy, the cadet from the Ark, desperate to find the golden princess. It’s so funny to me, because these people don’t know the origin of their relationship? And then first that Earth Skill teacher witnesses Bellamy’s smile as soon as he talks about what a nerd Clarke was on the Ark and he probably makes a note to himself ‘Cadet Blake and Clarke Griffin: friends. What an odd combination.’

And then the episode goes on and Bellamy gets more desperate and we have people as Monty’s mom and Pike(?) witnessing his utter devotion to Clarke.

And Pike literally has to stop him from running across a field, probably getting himself killed, just to get to Clarke. And he adjustes his note: ‘There’s something more going on there than friendship.’ Because yes, friends also want to find their friends, but not in the way Bellamy wants to find Clarke.

Monty is Clarke’s friend. “I want to find her too.” And that’s the exact difference, he knows it’s smarter to go to the cave and wait for the Ice Nation to pass; he still has the ability to think his actions through. But Bellamy goes beyond that. He can’t let Clarke die. He can’t explain the whole reason himself, other than that they need Clarke. He needs Clarke. And he thought Roan would kill her, so to hell with his own safety: his princess comes first.

And when Bellamy went undercover for Clarke (again) Pike probably freaked out about what an idiot he is and Kane and Monty probably looked at each other like ‘nothing new tbh’.

And then when Bellamy lost Clarke they all just go

You can literally see her go ‘Poor guy. So close to saving his girl only to be ripped apart again.’ Because let’s face it. If you fall in between their relationship in a moment like that, there’s no way you think they’re just friends. The logical thing to think is probably ‘fuck they’re so in love’. Bellamy’s reaction probably reminds Monty’s mom of what she went through the first months after Monty’s dad died a hero’s death. The fact that she couldn’t do anything about it crushing her, just as it was crushing this boy as well.

Kane has known for ages that Bellamy loves Clarke. Hell, it probably got more and more clear in the three months that we’ll never get to see. But the thing is; Bellamy probably doesn’t even know himself. He knows he needs Clarke, but up until now it wasn’t clear to him how much. The thought of losing her kills him, and he’ll die trying to keep that from happening.

And the same thing goes for Clarke. Roan isn’t a fan of the title Wanheda, and her legend being told as if she were some kind of God (’looks like the great Wanheda is human after all’). But Clarke is still a fighter, and Roan knows it. Yet when he has a knife to the boy’s throat, she shows the same desperation that Bellamy showed all through the episode. And she’s scared to death. She wasn’t scared for her own life when Roan first captured her, but she’s scared now. Bellamy represents her old life, who she used to be, he represents her home, her sanity. And more importantly: Bellamy is one of the most important people of her life before Wanheda. And she begs Roan not to kill him, and with one look Roan knows that the 18 year old girl behind Wanheda loves this boy, and that she’ll be true to her word if he doesn’t kill him.

I’m sorry but if you still think Bellarke is purely ~platonic~ you seriously need to look up what that means, because while their relationship might not be romantic, it sure as hell isn’t platonic either.

My laptop ran an update while I was sleeping last night which would've been fine except that the fan pad it sits on has rgb lights that fire up whenever the the computer first powers on, so in the middle of the night my computer finished its restart sequence and this happened:

"Why do you sleep in the same room as your computer/why don't you turn it off all the way before bed?" I usually use it to play audiobooks because it's easier for me to fall asleep that way.

"Why do you have gamer lights?" I needed a cooling pad for my laptop and they came baked in.

"Why do computers update in the middle of the night?" Because it's usually less annoying than having them try to update during the day while you're using them. Usually.

"This happened to me too." We are siblings-in-arms, separated by time and space but bound together by a shared suffering (getting flashbanged by technology in the middle of the night).
