Scribbling down the rest of the notes and observations from her Pokémon’s last battle, Abigail read them over again. There was a large advancement in both defense and special defense skills in most and if not, all of her team. They were able to withstand super effective moves that would have surely KO’d other Pokémon. A feeling of pride in herself and her Pokémon’s growing strength swelled in her stomach. As she walked, her Weavile, Vixen was at her right side, looking around the city they were in. She liked cities more than routes, simply because they had an actual room to sleep in in cities. The Weavile wasn’t used to staying in a tent yet and she probably would never be either.
However, the Pokémon’s senses picked up that they weren’t alone and darted away from her comrade’s side to scout around. Abigail’s head jerked into the direction Vixen took off to as she blinked her eyes in shock. Her Pokémon really was quick and being in such a close proximity to her was a bit startling. Stuffing her paperwork into her bag, Abigail didn’t even bother to keep up with her Weavile, who was know clinging from house to house, tree to tree. She merely trailed behind her, making sure she can still see her as Vixen sped off. What caught the Pokémon’s eye was a small fire, illuminating two figures by it. She watched the flames crackle in awe before dashing over to it, but kept her distance. Even with her strength, a Weavile wasn’t one to get accustomed to fire.
Now, with the light from the fire glowing around, Vixen was able to make out the figures that circled around the glowing flames. It was a woman with a feline PokĂ©mon. The Weavile had remembered seeing Abigail experiment on one back at the base but she never got to be so close to one that wasn’t be used for testing purposes. Her dark eyes went from the two to the berries near by them. She felt her stomach contract with a new found hunger and Vixen frowned to herself.Â
"What’s gotten you so antsy?" Turning around, Vixen cheerily cried out her name as Abigail came to retrieve her. Looking from her Pokémon to the woman and Persian by the fire, she looked down at her Weavile. She really didn’t need the Pokémon to be harassing someone who wasn’t a trainer on this mission so she motioned for Vixen to come to her. Her direction returned to the two by the fire. "I’m sorry about her, it’s been a rough day and she probably got excited you were out here."
Evelyn raised a brow in interest as the Weavile scampered over to her. Persian hummed, alerting his trainer that a woman was approaching. The feline was ready to attack if necessary, but the girl gave her the double-pat signal that everything was fine. The other girl's face was familiar, so she welcomed her with a small smile. She was a scientist -- or Evelyn believed so. Her memory was a little hazy with all the sudden orders, but things were coming back to her.Â
"No worries." She answered, hand waving them closer, and chucking a few berries towards the Weavile. "I'm sure I've seen you around." She stated while reaching for a small bag and pulling out a loaf of french bread. Pulling off a piece, she offered it to the other girl hoping she'd make at least one friend on this trip. If she couldn't get along with a Contagion, then how could she manage to even get close to the other kids?Â
Persian leaned forward, back in the air, sighing as he stretched. He muttered his name before plopping unceremoniously onto the grass with his head on Evelyn's lap. Hands absently rubbed the coat as she looked towards her group member and Pokemon. The Admin couldn't really determine her thoughts of them yet, but considering the only words leaving her lips were a small apology, Evelyn figured the woman was kind enough to befriend.Â
"I'm Evelyn Aiello." With the simple introduction done, she tore herself a piece of bread and chew absently on it. The inside was soft and floppy like a Buneary, so she stuck it with a twisted coat-hanger and let it toast on the open flames. "It's better toasted." She said, shrugging with her arms resting on Persian's back as if it was a table. The feline didn't mind, and the Admin inhaled with a kind of content she hadn't felt in a whileÂ
