Does anyone know more about Dreamtime? It’s an indigenous way of describing spacetime and the spiritual universe from what I recall. Anyways, I wrote a poem to share about my feelings about it. Hope you enjoy

Dreamtime:

“Self-less-ness.

It’s silly to think this was everything I have ever feared.

You have a way of painting the world like how it makes me feel.

I can’t help but think now that this is place was a prism.

And that light was what made reflexive judgement.

In all the possibility of space, the energy for everything that ever was and could be.

You think, therefore I am.

E. Omnia, ergo sum.

Dream•time

I’m always learning about you,

And I want so desperately for you to see yourself in me.

I’m grateful for all the things I never even thought I could achieve

but only because you dreamed it for me “

And captured radiation;

Where it was much too bright,

And much too dark,

For the crooked fruits and all they would espy;

Taking special notice

Of the drosophila

hanging themselves casually on the vine.

Lake Tekapo: Lake Tekapo is located in the South Island of New Zealand, roughly 3 and ½ hours away from the cities of Christchurch and Queenstown. It is 83 km-square, and is fed by the Godley River in the Southern Alps and glacier melt. The most distinctive feature of Lake Tekapo is its vibrant cerulean blue milky waters. This bright coloration and cloudiness is caused by the abundance of rock flour suspended in the water. This powdered rock was created when large glaciers moved through the basin, grinding up rock into dust. The average depth of the lake is 69 meters, and the lake sits at an elevation of 710 meters above sea level. You have hardly ever seen cut flowers featured on my blog, but today was another gorgeous sunny day here in Glasgow and I had the pleasure to spend the afternoon at the Botanic Gardens with Jane Tomlinson, coordinator of the community project Dear Green Flower Farm, picking sweet pea blossoms and talking about plants. 

The story of this extremely popular annual species is long and quite interesting: native to southern Italy, Sicily and a few other south-eastern Mediterranean islands, its wild form was first described by Sicilian monk Franciscus Cupani, which sent seeds to correspondents abroad in 1699, when some reached England. It was only in the second half of the XIX century though, that the available varieties rapidly multiplied at the hand of Scottish horticulturalist Henry Eckford, making it such a cherished plant in British gardens. The beautiful colours and strong, sweet scent have made this plant a big favourite ever since.

The seeds of a related species, L. sativus, are registered as an official traditional product of parts of central and southern Italy, where they are known as cicerchie, but they are toxic if consumed in large quantities and cause a condition which is called lathyrism after the genus. The same goes for sweet peas, so enjoy the blossoms and stick to the edible pea, Pisum sativum for consumption!
