Hello everyone!! So the other mods and I have been thinking, and we've decided that we're going to be holding off on actually starting this group up until over the summer. We'll still be accepting apps until we officially have a date to close them if anyone is currently working on any, and we'll probably still be checking the blog every once and a while in case anyone has questions, but for now the group is on hold! We'll probably start working on it again sometime in June or July, so...see you then!

Out of curiosity, is there going to be a "monocreature" of sorts or a group mascot?

We can say right away that our main npc stars of the show will be humanoid beings, though any further details on them we’d like to keep a secret until the game starts!

are side-blogs allowed or do we have to have one dedicated to this group?

Merely because you used the word dedicated, I’d like to specify that this group is closed, meaning all posts on whatever blog you use are for ever after despair. No other roleplays on the side on the blog, or anything!

As for sideblogs, we highly discourage the use of them, merely because they’re inconvenient for everyone... the person with the blog, the rest of the students, and the moderator. However, if you feel like you absolutely must use a sideblog, you are allowed to use them.

Hello! other dancers are absolutely not excluded from entering! a flamenco dancer.. a ballerina.. a modern dancer... and many other dancing talents are all allowed! thank you for asking!

The students of Hope’s Peak Academy are the most extraordinary, most skilled high-school students in their field– the true hope of the future. It’s for this reason that they were the ones specially chosen to take over the roles of fairy-tale characters, hand picked and essentially adopted by their predecessors. Transported to another world, the world that these fairy-tales are history rather than fiction, and it’s now the duty of these sixteen students to carry out these fairy-tales that they’re now destined to complete and to accept the fates that they’ve been given.

But among the dissent between those who are willing to accept these fates and those who refuse, something more is stirring, and something more is at stake… something much bigger than just the stories themselves…

yep! ever after despair features a sprite icon roster, with a variety of expressions provided for each student!

For the prompt that asks whether they would be a Royal or Rebel, would you like an ooc explanation, or ic writings of the character actually coming to that decision?

That is an OOC explanation! However, if you feel as if it is easier to explain it through a drabble-like prompt, then by all means go ahead!

We just want a clear explanation in the end.

Hi! I was wondering, do the characters names have to be "punny" like in EAH or can they be actual real names?

When it comes to names, anything really goes as long as it makes sense for them to have that name! If you can find a place to fit a pun into their name that’s a-okay (and also A+ to you), but you’re not required to.

Are characters allowed to have a hidden talent or a fake talent to conceal the real one?

Yep! As long as you put on your app what the real talent is, it’s fine!

application update!

due to a question we’ve received from a few people, we would like to clarify something! we’ve also added a question to the application in order to express this further.

basically, it is important for your character to somehow have a relation to their fairytale ‘foster parent’. they can be similar in personality, backstory, talent... or something else, even! whatever you come up with! however – make sure to not make them a complete carbon copy to their parent... that wouldn’t be very interesting!

if you go check the student application, it should have the new question. however, to those that already started their app, here’s the extra question, in an easily accessible format! this would go under private information!:

Why was your character chosen to be ‘adopted’ by their fairytale parent?: Your character was chosen to represent a certain fairytale in Ever After High. Why were they chosen? This can be due to their talent, backstory, personality… Really, anything! Just make it clear that it makes sense for your character to be representing their 'parent.’

Would students be able to transform into other shapes depending on their fairy tales? A la Duchess and Hopper?

Sorry, but the answer to this is no! This is merely because we don’t want for students to be more overpowered than their fellow peers – transformation can definitely give someone the upper-hand, after all! This is also because the Hopes Peak students were handpicked, essentially adopted, to represent their fairy-tale! Their species wouldn’t change upon this happening, so the students stay fully human! As a note since it might be easy to overlook, the application does not require you to fill out all the prompts! You only need to do the required ones and one optional one out of the nine choices at the very minimum!

Also, to clarify, apps open on the 12th, they do not close on that date.
