Jeon Jeong-guk Appreciation Post (WIP)
I started becoming a low-key army when I first heard the song âButterflyâ (Iâm addicted to sad songs soâŠyeah haha) for the first time. From there, I started to listen to other BTS tracks (I really liked Boy In Luv so much haha) and I found most of them to be really catchy. I think the best thing about their songs are the lyrics. Each song is not only substantial but it is also based on the membersâ personal human experiences. BTS discusses inner turmoil, social conflicts, and other societal issues in a way that most people tend to avoid. Despite the huge linguistic barrier (I donât know how to speak Korean, let alone understand Hangul haha Iâm so sorry), the familiar emotions that their songs convey transcend any type of language and this shows us how music can truly connect people regardless of ethnicity, gender, or race. I personally think this is why many people appreciate them so much - they show their humanness through their music. I love them for this.
Being already immersed in enjoying their music, I started to watch some meme edits of their videos online. I remember laughing so hard at one BTS crack video compilation (at that time the only member I knew was Hwarangâs Kim Taehyung haha) and I loved it so much I had to save it in my phone. After that I got to know the other members as well and I immediately fell in love with each of their quirky personalities. I learned how they got pieced together and how they were able to debut on June 12, 2013. I discovered the trials and hardships they had to go through before & after debut which made me feel somewhat âinspiredâ as to how dedicated and hardworking they are in everything that they do. Watching their struggles made me realize that there are some lessons in life that you can only learn through persistence and suffering. All seven of them deserve the fame and success that theyâre getting right now.
Among the seven members, one of them has particularly stood out to me personality-wise. I donât know if itâs the fact that we both share the same mbti type (heâs an INFP too) or Iâm just drawn to people who share the same set of behaviors as I do (Iâm not saying Iâm exactly like him; Iâm not as talented as he is, but I am introverted and SHY AF so really I just see so much of myself in him that it makes me happy knowing there is someone else out there who thinks and acts like me somehow). This nice human being is no other than Jeon Jeong-guk (We both have the same initials to our names âJJGâ hahahaha now Iâm just being silly nyahaha sorry) and I actually made a fan art of him (I posted it on my bedroom wall as inspiration hihi):
