The Hunger Games Valentine's Podfic Exchange sign up is now open for authors!

We're doing things a little bit differently this year in order to (hopefully) make balancing the numbers on this easier. For the podfic exchange, we're looking for authors of Hunger Games fanfiction who would like their work to be made into a podfic. As an author, you will only need to fill out this form, wait, and then hear one of our podficcers make a podfic of one of your works!

If you would like to be an author and a podficcer, fill out this form and then wait for the next form to sign up as a podficcer which will be posted in one week. Also for anyone feeling shy about this, please know that last year we had way more podficcers than authors initially sign up. So many people in the fandom were incredibly excited to give back to authors, so please don't feel shy about signing up, because we will only take as many podficcers as authors that fill out the form.

This is open to all fanfiction of characters, pairings, and OCs in THG/TBOSAS/SOTR. The only limitation is that podficcers will only be expected to record a podfic of 3k words or less. This could be a one-shot, a chapter from a longer work, or an excerpt from a chapter.

A never reaped AU where Peeta becomes Mayor of District 12

Katniss trading squirrels and strawberries to Peeta at the Mayors mansion

This could go a bunch of different directions but the version stuck in my head is the reverse trope of ‘nice guy who only hates me’

Katniss can’t understand why Peeta is so detached and terse during their trades. The man is nice to everyone, even Gale thinks he’s a decent guy.

She decided that it’s because she never thanked him for the bread, but when she goes to thank him he cuts her off and demands she leave.

She stops trading at the Mayor mansion altogether until Gale tells her after his Sunday trade that Peeta has requested fish on Tuesdays and she’ll need to sack up and bring it because he’s working.

She goes and his housekeeper manages the trade and requests strawberries for the next day. She goes back - each day the housekeeper always manages the trades and requests something different for the following day (this is good though because even though she can’t stand (is hurt by) Peeta, she really NEEDS the coins from his trades.)

She gleans from Gale that he is still trading directly with Peeta on Sundays and it irks her. So one week she spies on Gale and watches as they trade and then watches as Peeta and Gale head off to an abandoned hut on the outskirts of town where they meet up with another person she can’t see.

Katniss barges in to discover Gale, Peeta, and Haymitch Abernathy *doing rebel things*

Katniss joins the cause and Peeta is not happy about it, which only strengths her resolve.

Yadda yadda yadda

The mayor’s mansion is bugged and Peeta was trying to protect her by keeping her at arms length and not involving her in the sedition, while also supporting her through trades. He doesn’t hate her at all and neither does she.

Katniss and Peeta probably begin an affair
