Open starter Location: Poor Unfortunate Soul

It felt like forever for Nyx for the third shift security guard to show up and replace her at work. She didn't hate her job. It gave her a sense of pride, duty, and purpose. That didn't mean she wanted to live there. Fast forward a few hours and she was tucked away at the corner of the bar, finishing the last bit of her drink. She flagged the bartender down for another just before someone sat beside her. She glanced over at them and then at the various other unoccupied barstools. Her drink was set in front of her and she didn't hesitate to grab the glass and take a sip. Nyx let a short time pass before she directly looked at the person next to her, whose presence was bothering her for no reason other than they could have sat anywhere that wasn't next to her. She was enjoying her solitude that night and the vibe they brought was really fucking it up. "Is there a reason you had to sit next to me when there are plenty of open seats elsewhere?" She rose a brow as she questioned them. "I mean, seriously, don't you think that's strange?"

Maximus swerved another jab, holding his fists up in their gloves to block whatever came next. He huffed, feeling wildly out of shape as he danced on his toes.

The loud screech of the door captured his attention for a moment, his eyes flicking away, and then he was falling, landing flat on his back on the rubber mat of the practice ring.

Max surveyed the ceiling, trying to pull air back into his lungs, a chuckle building in his throat. With a shuddering gasp, he looked to his sparring partner.

"Well, I certainly look like a rookie, huh?" He wheezed.

Kim kicked the door shut behind her, heading toward the kitchen in a rustle of shopping bags laden with groceries.

"Sit your butt down, I'm making you my mom's famous chicken noodle. I swear to God it cures everything," she chattered, dropping her armful of bags on the counter.

She began to rummage through the cupboards, humming to herself.

"Where are your saucepans?"

Haku tilted their head again, contemplating the abstract piece. Something about it was giving them pause, to the point where they hadn't even noticed they were losing time.

It was well into the evening, the gallery finally having emptied around them. Haku looked around, as if waking from a trance, to find a pair of eyes on them.

"Ah, I apologize," they said, standing. Slender hands slipped into pockets, a smile crossing their features.

"I must have missed the closing announcements."

Hype over something as simple as the weather shouldn't be allowed after four cups of coffee, but Wilbur didn't care. The rain soaked his face as he stood outside, feet tapping against the puddles underneath them. Suddenly the rain stopped falling on him but continued all around, "Oh." The cloud that had been directly above him had moved, not too far away but far enough that it wasn't on him anymore. "Come back."

"quinoa salad !" they don't realize they're interrupting the silence of the waiting room— well, register that there was silence in the waiting room, until eyes are on them. they're grinning sheepishly, a mask of embarrassment, something more socially acceptable than the shamelessness they usually carry "the, uh, the answer. quinoa salad." they point to where the tv in the corner of the room is playing wheel of fortune with a hand wrapped in a startlingly crimson stained white towel. tiger accident. happens everyday.

Evermore homed a lot of interesting people. 'Interesting' being a term that casted a very wide net here. Tambry knew she fell into a certain corner of that net with her phone and her vlog, but that didn't bother her one bit. She was just as shameless as always, and that included her farming the occasional stray resident for content. The black and pink haired girl was going on about her day when somebody was doing something that caught her eye. Observing quietly for a moment, she soon lifted her phone slightly, making sure the person was centered in the frame as she recorded.

Strictly speaking, Kit knew he shouldn't spend as much time away from the security of his castle as he did, the whole prince thing considered, but he couldn't help himself. It felt so stuffy behind those doors and the world, at least their small version of it, was out there for him to explore. Which was why he constantly found himself at the diner whenever he was looking for new ideas. "Can I ask you something?" He questioned, turning to the person closest with a warm smile. "Are you a romance person? When it comes to books or movies, I mean."
