I feel like I really should make "snail or smudge" a tag... thoughts? (In this case, I can already reveal that this smudge is a snail!)
[Start ID: A massive man in dark clothes and a hat is sitting on some rubble. He is speaking to an especially small snail. End ID.]
The first chapter cover with a snail on it! And what a character it is, truly a special snail!
[Start ID: Three people are sitting in a cluttered radio booth. The table in front of them is littered with scripts, a mixing table, a grammophone, and waterbottles. On the right is a big woolly anthropomorphic pig with headphones; they are wearing a shirt saying "DJ". In the middle is a young man with a knit hat and a scar under his left eye; he is reading from the notes. On the left side, there is a calamari person holding up notes and vinyl records. All three of them are wearing headphones. Right above the middle of the table, a snail is suspended in the air. It sits in a microphone-basket contrabtion. It's shell is dome-shaped and covered in polka dots. It's face is sticking out at the frond, talking excitedly. End ID.]
I think Revolutionary Army snails should join the later seen steampunk look. Wouldn't that be fun?
[Start ID: A man with headphones, a hat looking like a dog's head, and a cape is talking to a shadowy figure. In front of him, a big snail can be seen sleeping on the table next to a stack of wanted signs. End ID.]
I love this snail's expression! A very content baby
[Start ID: A man in the foreground with headphones, a hat looking like a dog's head, and a cape is talking to someone off-screen. In front of him, a big snail can be seen sleeping on the table next to a stack of wanted signs. End ID.]
Multiple snails spotted!
[Start ID: A group of people is sitting around a large donut-shaped desk, doing paperwork. Most of them are wearing hats, and have matching shades. A man in the foreground has headphones and a cape. In front of him, a big snail can be seen sleeping on the table. There's a shadowy figure next to him. In the background, another snail can be seen sitting in front of a man with a Hawaiian shirt. End ID.]
Quiet down, Genzo! You'll wake up your little buddy
[Start ID: A man is standing next to a big, sleeping snail, yelling angrily. He is wearing a peaked cap. His face is covered in scars, and he has a big handlebar moustache. Behind him is a picture of a pretty woman with a tattoo on her shoulder, posing like a movie star. A second woman with a matching tattoo is standing in the foreground, her back to the reader. The snail has a matching handlebar moustache. It's shell has three dark lines running across it's back, following the curve of the shell. There's a big dark ring around the dial in the side of it's shell. End ID.]
I love seeing people matching their snails to their aesthetic!

It’s partially cut off by the panel border, but tattoo alert!
Oh, I've also spotted a snail I've missed in this! In my defense, it is very tiny and cozy hidden in a messenger bag.
[Start ID: Many people are cheering in fron of a stage, their fists raised. On the center right, two arms can be seen with black gloves and matching tattoos, cut off by the bottom of the panel. On stage, a person sits on a large duck. He is speaking into the receiver of a snail like a microphone. The snail is tucked into a messenger back; only it's face can be seen. End ID.]
Emotive snail!
[Start ID: Out of a little cup-like vessel comes a small black snail. It’s eyestalks and mouth poke out; its cone-like shell is opened like a lid. It has buck teeth. It's mouth is opened wide, laughing. Next to is an abandoned notebook; a lady is walking away from it. End ID.]
Oh, the black snails really are tiny! I wonder if they can switch from stationary to wrist-watch?
[Start ID: Out of a little cup-like vessel comes a small black snail. It’s eyestalks and mouth poke out; its cone-like shell is opened like a lid. It has buck teeth. It is reporting the contents of an off-screen conversation to a lady whith a small speaker stuck in her ear. She is wearing a bikini and is writing down the snail's reports. End ID.]
I really like the tiny receiver that can be plugged into one's ear; it really goes to show that the black den dens can be very subtle listening devices.

Now this is interesting! The black den den mushis are not only portable, but there are stationary ones as well like this one!

A sneaky, sneaky snail
[Start ID: Three men are sitting on pieces of rubble and talking to each other. The one on the right has long hair and sunglasses. The one in the middle is wearing a navy uniform and a bandanna. The one on the left has shorts and a straw hat. Hidden under a piece of rubble in the foreground is a big snail, listening in on them. It has dark polka dots all over it's shell and prominent lips. End ID.]
Now this snail is a star!!
[Start ID: Two men are talking to a snail. They both are wearing dungarees with a big star on them. The man in the background has goggles and a full beard. The man in the foreground is clean-shaven, but has a leopard print jacked. He is holding a snail and speaking to it excitedly. The snail has a star on the back of it's head, and a row of stars on it's back following the curve of the shell. End ID.]
I wonder if snails just naturally grow hair and facial hair, or if it is accessoiries.
[Start ID: A man with sunglasses, speedos, and open Hawaiian shirt and a gold chain is sitting on a sofa, speaking to someone offscreen. On the coffee table in front of him are a coffe pot and two mugs. There's a large snail on the table. It has horizontal stripes going all over its shell in ribbony bows. A lock of hair is curled between its eyestalks on its forehead. It is just waking up with a start, yelling out. End ID.]
