Jungle Cruise/Great Movie Ride Theory
Hi, everyone! Before I get into this theory, I would like to let everyone know that this is just my theory, so it is not confirmed. Along with this, if you repost this, please credit me using this tumblr account!
AWOL Airwaves
So, any hardcore Disney fan has heard of Skipper Albert AWOL at AWOL Airwaves. If you haven’t, don’t worry, I’ll explain it.
Basically, instead of having a loop of music in the queue for the Jungle Cruise in Walt Disney World, the Imagineers decided to use a faux radio loop called AWOL Airwaves. The radio host, Skipper Albert AWOL is often heard cracking jokes and addressing important info for the Skippers.
As random as this tidbit of Disney Info may seem, it’s important to know what AWOL Airwaves is.
Great Movie Ride and Jungle Cruise
Another important piece of information is the relationship between the now closed (sadly) Great Movie Ride and the Jungle Cruise.
In a scene copying the movie, Casablanca, two animatronic figures are saying their goodbyes in front of the front half of a plane.
Notice that you cannot are the tail end of the plane. That is because the other half of it is utilized on the Jungle Cruise.
My Theory
So now that we know the connection between the Great Movie Ride and the Jungle Cruise, I’ll get into my theory.
After repeatedly listening to the Jungle Cruise Loop, I noticed another connection between the two rides.
Skipper Albert AWOL says, “The DBC is proud, and financially pleased, to welcome a new sponsor to the AWOL airwaves. It’s Aero Casablanca. As an introductory offer, all Jungle Cruise personnel will receive discounted fares on Aero Casablanca’s Belgian Congo River tour. All flights must be booked at least two minutes in advance of takeoff and stays in the Congo region must be for a minimum of 25 years. Fly the skies of Aero Casablanca. The airline no one comes back on.”
Here’s a script of the loop for further proof.
How does this relate to the Great Movie Ride? The faulty airline named ‘Aero Casablanca’ is, in my opinion, a sneaky reference to the other half of the plane on the GMR.
Remember, the movie that the scene utilizing the front half of the plane is based off of is called Casablanca.
I think that someone wanted to hint at the connection between the two rides and Aero Casablanca was born.
Hopefully this made sense! Please reblog to get this theory out there!
