They said I had to love myself before I could love someone else. But what if he was the first one to teach me that love is not fireworks, but rather a steady burning flame?

Supporting my best friend as she starts her therapy journey has really helped me reflect on how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown since I first started therapy. It’s crazy to feel this self-confidence and certainty about myself that I would never have achieved without it.

It’s crazy how pets are the angels, the teachers of pure love. Their life is short. When it’s their time to go, it’s not complicated like a human’s. When humans pass, mourning is intertwined with devastation, legalities, stress, or complications. Although absolutely heart wrenching, I’d argue even the death of a pet is beautiful because they allow you to just feel sadness. The purest form of sadness. The kind where you have space to sob and feel the emptiness but know that it was all, all absolutely worth it.
