that's IT!!!! see my very niche version of a two-brains separation au. i had to make one about the mouse. it's my job i'm the squeaky guy now

the premise is: in the miss power special, when miss power is about to shoot lasers in the doc's face... what if wordgirl Didn't show up in time to stop her? almost everyone who witnessed that assumes dr. two-brains didn't survive (because really, he shouldn't have,) but since squeaky's brain is left pretty much unharmed, it's had to take over completely and go into hiding. and it's trying to fix this from the shadows. Yeahhh

honestly one of my favorite things about fanfic is when you can see the canon influences come out in really subtle ways. like a canon line thats mentioned once as a throwaway is suddenly the entire premise for a fic or it influences the characterization or something. its just so cool to see how people weave their ideas around a source material, especially if its not a detail i'd thought about before
