UK gig poster lad, Luke Drozd, is putting on a show of 13 years of screen printed gig posters. That’s a lot of poster, more than 70 apparently. It should be a goodun. Here’s the blurb:
Friday 12th - Sunday 14th May 2017
91 Peckham High Street
London, SE15 5RS
Opening event: Friday 12th May, 6 - 9pm
Exhibition continues Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May 12-6pm
For the last 13 years Luke Drozd has been designing posters. Mostly for bands and musicians, sometimes for art events or comedians, but always posters. Many of these were made as limited edition screen prints; part advert, part artefact.
This exhibition looks back over that body of work, exhibiting this archive of around 70+ screen printed posters together for the first time. A mid-career grand folly that includes work for the likes of Adam Buxton / Adam & Joe, Andrew Bird, Belle & Sebastian, The Black Keys, Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, Dinosaur Jr, Graham Coxon, The Handsome Family, The Melvins, Michael Rother, The National, New Order, Spoon, Stewart Lee, St. Vincent, Tortoise, Queens of the Stone Age, Yo La Tengo and many more.
This exhibition is generously supported by British Underground, Awesome Merchandise, Northern Monk Brewery and UK Poster Association.
