if y'all don't stop crosstagging disability awareness with pro endo bullshit I'm going defcon 4
seeing a good post about ableism and then the creator is pro-endo like uhhhh okay maybe take your own advice
my hot hot hot take is that pro-endo traumagenics shouldn't be making comic blogs or social media accts about DID. sounds harsh but why are you making a whole account centered around a disorder you don't understand? having it does not mean you understand it. you can't spread awareness about a thing you're ableist towards
I dislike that people who are recovered and not disabled by their symptoms anymore will use the term "non-disordered" due to the implications. They will also act confused and shocked when you point this out
System communities need to get normal about littles who are sexual trauma holders
System communities need to get normal about littles who have other âadultâ roles
System communities need to get normal about abuser introjects
System communities need to get normal about RAMCOA/OEA survivors
System communities need to get normal about systems whoâs trauma wasnât parental abuse and/or sa (this is not me saying that people who did go through that are invalid, but that theres a lack of resources or support for different types of trauma)
System communities need to get normal about factives
BTW, DID isn't only about alters
If you look into it, the right definition would be "I'm took overwhelmed so I need someone to replace me" disorder
Also it can be:
A "This thing stresses me the hell out so I no longer will remember it even if I need to" disorder.
A "I don't know who I am most of the time" disorder
A "My trauma is a rotting wound that never heals" disorder
A "I never learned healthy ways to cope so I wake up with scars I don't remember having" disorder.
A "forget everything" disorder
A "Hightened risk of suicide/alcoholism/drug abuse" disorder
A "other parts of my self hate my guts and sabotage me (and themselves too in process)" disorder
A "I'm not sure whether those memories are real or a dream" disorder
A "I thought I was saying the truth but people say I'm lying" disorder
A "did I actually do it or just thought about it?" disorder
A "Being near some people or reading something even briefly mentioning/implying my trauma makes me spiral" disorder
A "I dissociate all the time" disorder
A "how the hell did I end up here?" disorder
A "the world around me doesn't feel real" disorder
A "I'm so depressed I can't get out of bed and haven't showered in weeks" disorder
And strangely enough, you can't have all that without repeated childhood trauma.
So many pluralpedia terms are just traumagenic repackaged in an endo-friendly light.
âPTSD-genicâ boy do i have news for you!
having system friends irl that don't engage with syscource online is so funny, cuz you'll be explaining willo shit, what it means and the like and they'll look at you like this (which yeah, fair reaction)
Hi! This is my take on an anti-endo / âsysmedâ flag. I personally use sysmed to describe myself because
A. Endos throw it around like its an insult, but yes, I do view a medical condition as something medical, what about it?
B. I wanted to make a cool flag.
The purple stands for intelligence and wisdom, and the yellow is for healing, trauma recovery and solidarity between the community.
The caduceus is a symbol of medicine (which is why there is a Rod of Asclepius version!) the gears represent systemhood!
Stamps, userboxes and no symbol below!!
i fucking hate endogenic posts trying to make themselves look high and mighty by being "accepting" and pretending that 'system' is something you can identify as.
being a system is not an identity. it is not something you can "become". it is not like being queer. it is not like being alterhuman.
Guys. "Polyfragmented OSDD" doesn't exist. That is an oxymoron.
Because Polyfragmentation itself is a complex kind of fragmentation and OSDD cannot be that complex by definition, or it would be DID. Sure OSDD can also have some complex patterns, but it cannot be in the "Polyfragmentation" area, that's just not how it works. Polyfragmentation itself is also on a spectrum so could it look like OSDD? Yeah, I'd figure it could, but can it be polyfragmented? Nope.
It's important to me that you know this.
"you can have a cdd without trauma" then why dont you tell me exactly how a child's brain would develop a dissociative disorder void of repeated trauma without saying "just because". give me an actual, realistic explanation that makes scientific sense and is backed up by multiple sources with legitimate and credible research and studies that arent just tumblr and carrd links. if youre going to make this claim so confidently then surely you have plenty of legitimate evidence to back it up, right? surely you've put hours into research to come to this conclusion, right? surely you arent just making shit up to get away with faking a trauma disorder online, right?
"I just find it hard to believe some people who claim to be systems. why do all their alters have strange names and unique appearances and weird mannerisms?" queer people are disproportionately at risk of experiencing childhood trauma. autistic people are disproportionately at risk of experiencing childhood trauma. there are countless studies on this if you want to hear it right from the source. childhood trauma is the driving factor behind a massive majority of DID/OSDD system formations. I trust that you can connect the dots here!
if you intentionally choose to disregard peoples' existences based on their appearance or behaviours, you have biases that you absolutely need to deconstruct before people like me can ever feel safe around you.
you can start by saying nothing about how you "just can't believe it" when someone you don't know exists as a system where you can see. you can keep going by trusting the people in your life when they share extremely vulnerable information about themselves.
telling someone that you're part of a system feels like exposing your soft underside. I've cried from terror almost every time I've had to reveal it to someone I care about, and I don't cry easily. if someone tells you they're part of a system, they're placing a monumental amount of trust in you.
please don't break that trust.
actually, another thing!!! you are seeing systems who:
1. actually know that they're systems (this is rare. being online makes resources on figuring it out WAY more accessible) 2. happen to exist in the same online space as you, the tumblr user reading this 3. are, as a result, usually younger and/or autistic and/or queer, which are all factors that can influence individual alters' identities.
so of COURSE you think we're all like this. you're looking at one damn tree instead of the whole forest!!! there are systems who are 60 years old and never had the resources to figure out what was going on. there are systems who are 30 and barely use social media for personal reasons. there are systems who are 20 and don't tell anyone because of the cruelty they've faced every time they try. there are systems who are 15 and are SO relieved to have answers to why everything felt weird and wrong their whole life, so they shout it from the rooftops. your limited interactions with systems in specific online spaces does not represent the majority of systems on earth.
even if it did represent the majority of systems on earth we STILL deserve to be treated like people. this should not be something I have to beg for!!!!!
"Endogenic systems have zero terms that aren't stolen" BE SO FOR REAL WITH ME. Hey. Hey. Where does the term system come from. Where does the term alter come from. Where does the term part come from. Where did the idea of systems come from. Could it be that.... the only reason endogenic systems exist is because they saw CDDs and wanted to make them non-disordered? Genuinely look me in the face and tell me that if CDDs NEVER existed, endogenic systems would have existed. You guys literally stole the ENTIRE CONCEPT OF A SYSTEM and stripped it of everything except for "haha fun alters". I don't wanna hear about your pussy ass EnDoS dOnT hAvE a SiNgLe TeRm ThAt IsNt StOlEn motherfucker you stole an entire disorder and turned it into a roleplay đđđ
"i dislike endogenic plurals and don't want them interacting with me"
"what about people with CDDs who dont remember their trauma!!! what about disordered systems who dont know theyre traumagenic and use endogenic labels!!!"
well then they wouldn't be endogenic, would they? they'd be traumagenic
i see a lot of pro/endos give sociological research papers are "evidence" that they're real, so i wanted to explain that if you're trying to prove something about how the brain works and functions, especially alters, sociology is NOT the correct field of science, that is what PSYCHOLOGY is for
while they're similar and sometimes taught in duo courses in schools, they aren't the same.
Psychology is the study of the brain and how it works
Sociology is the study of people and how they interact
if there is a sociological research paper on endo systems, it's not proving their existence with anything actually relevant to the question, it's simply explaining how the communities work and how people within them interact with each other
this is coming from someone who took both courses, they're very different when you actually study them a bit
