Armour
Emptiness. Unlike this word, the real feeling is nearly indescribable. Feet not touching the ground Under false pretences, the smile hangs around There’s no point me pretending I can feel a thing Waiting to see what the next day brings Because what if it doesn’t come Then I’ll be the one apologising No guilt felt if I was lying.
The promise of fresh rain Running down the sides of my face But today, not so Instead like a suit of armour, I bare no insides No swords collide Just a question of time Where and why Have my Emotions left me? What you see from the outside Is not what is on the inside.
