There aren't any two people matching each other's freak the way that Jude and Cardan do.
the way they freak is more concerning
Can you do this fanfic? what if Madoc after stabbing Jude actually took her to the camp. He keeps her well guarded and well watched, And Cardan has to try to bring Jude back to him, all the while Madoc begins to try to turn Jude against Cardan
ofc!
Cardans an idiot

"Cardan," she whispered urgently, dropping to her knees beside him. His eyes fluttered open, pain and surprise flickering in their depths.
"Jude," he rasped, his voice weak. She could see the deep gash on his side, the blood soaking through his clothing.
"Stay with me," she commanded, tearing a strip from her own tunic to press against his wound. Her hands trembled, but she forced herself to stay calm. She had to save him. She couldn't let him die.
He groaned, his hand clutching hers weakly. "Who...?"
"Don't speak," she ordered, her voice sharper than she intended. "Save your strength."
Jude glanced around the dimly lit corridor, alert for any sign of the attackers. They had been bold, striking at the heart of the palace. But she couldn't think about that now. She had to get Cardan to safety.
With a grunt, she hauled him up, draping his arm over her shoulder. He was heavier than she expected, his body limp and uncooperative. Every step was a struggle, but she didn't stop. She couldn't afford to.
"We're almost there," she lied, her voice strained. "Just hold on a little longer."
Cardan's breath was ragged in her ear, each exhale a painful reminder of how close she was to losing him. She pushed open the door to a nearby chamber and half-carried, half-dragged him inside.
She lowered him gently to the floor and scrambled to find more bandages, anything to staunch the bleeding. "You're not dying on me," she muttered, as much to herself as to him.
His eyes met hers, a flicker of his usual arrogance in their depths. "As if I'd give you the satisfaction," he managed, a ghost of a smile on his lips.
She bit back a retort, focusing instead on binding his wounds. She wasn't sure if she was doing it right, but she had to try. For once, she had to trust herself.
Minutes felt like hours, but finally, the bleeding slowed. Jude slumped back, exhaustion washing over her. Cardan's eyes were closed, his breathing shallow but steady.
"You're going to be okay," she said, her voice softer now. "You have to be."
For a moment, she allowed herself to believe it.

âHow many times are you going to ask?â I rolled my eyes and spread the baking sheet on the pan, smiling at Cardan who watched me from the kitchen counter with a playful glint in his eyes.
âCome over here,â I grabbed Cardans hand and placed him into front of me, helping him knead the dough. âIsnât this fun?â
"I'm afraid to say no because if I do, I'm afraid I won't have fun tonight,â Cardan says, his tone teasing as we continue kneading the dough together.
I give him a look. I don't know what it is about him, but his smile warms my heart. He is my heart.
Cardan throws flour at me. I pretend to be offended and catch him before he gets me more dirty. "Hey!" I exclaim, trying to hold back a laugh.
He cups my face and kisses me softly, his touch gentle and reassuring. His lips linger against mine, a silent promise of affection and warmth. "You know you love it," he murmurs between kisses, his breath warm against my lips.
Cardan hoists me up onto the counter, removes my blade from my thigh, and pulls me close, kissing me firmly. We linger there in each other's embrace, the moment feeling timeless.
Cardanâs Little Shadow
I had never seen the palace kitchens so chaotic. Faerie chefs dashed about with gleaming knives, enchanted vegetables peeled themselves, and the scent of spiced wine hung heavy in the air. Amidst the flurry, a tiny, furry creature whimpered from a basket hidden in the corner.
âShh,â I whispered, crouching beside the basket. The puppy, with its oversized ears and bright eyes, looked up at me innocently. âYou need to stay quiet until tonight.â
The Bomb had helped me sneak the dog in through the lesser-used servantsâ entrance. âYou know this is madness, right?â she had said, her usual amused expression more pronounced.
âCardan will love it,â Iâd replied, though truthfully, I wasnât entirely sure. But I had a feeling that despite his usual disdain for most living things, Cardan might actually find some joy in this small creature. If not, well, it would still be amusing to see his reaction.
Hours later, the grand hall was filled with laughter and music. Cardan, draped in his customary finery, held court with effortless charm. His golden eyes flicked to me across the room, curiosity evident in their depths. I avoided his gaze, knowing heâd sense something was up.
âJude,â he called, catching me just as I was about to slip away. âYouâve been avoiding me.â
âJust busy,â I lied smoothly, trying to keep my tone light.
âBusy plotting, no doubt,â he teased, but his eyes were serious. âWhat are you hiding?â
âFollow me,â I said, unable to hide my grin any longer.
We wove through the throngs of courtiers until we reached the quieter corridors of the west wing. The puppy was still in its basket, looking up at us with wide, trusting eyes.
âClose your eyes,â I instructed Cardan.
He raised an eyebrow but complied, a smirk playing on his lips. I lifted the puppy and placed it gently into his arms.
âOpen them.â
Cardanâs eyes snapped open, and his expression was priceless. For a moment, he simply stared at the tiny dog now wriggling happily in his grasp. Then, unexpectedly, he laughedâa genuine, delighted sound that made the puppyâs tail wag even faster.
âA dog?â he said, incredulous but clearly pleased. âJude, you brought a dog into the palace?â
âHappy birthday,â I said, unable to stop smiling. âI thought you could use a loyal companion.â
Cardanâs eyes softened as he looked at the puppy, who was now attempting to chew on the lace of his sleeve. âWhatâs his name?â
âI thought Shadow would be fitting,â I replied. âHeâs small, dark, and will probably follow you everywhere.â
âShadow,â Cardan repeated, testing the name. He looked at me, his usual mask of sarcasm and detachment slipping just enough for me to see the gratitude underneath. âThank you, Jude. This is⌠unexpected.â
âGood,â I said, stepping closer and reaching out to pet the puppy. âI like keeping you on your toes.â
âAs if I could ever be complacent around you,â he murmured, his tone softening.
Shadow yipped, drawing our attention back to the present. Cardan chuckled, a sound that felt almost foreign in the echoing halls of Elfhame.
âCome on,â I said, tugging lightly on his arm. âLetâs introduce Shadow to his new home.â
âDo we have to go now?â Cardan grabbed my arm, stopping me from leaving.
âCanât I get something from you?â Cardan smirked, he laced his fingers around mine.
âCardan, people are waiting for us.â I smiled.
âWhy does it matter?â Cardan traced circles on my back, his fingers slowly moving up to my neck.
âNot now, Cardan.â I whispered.
âWhy not?â He leaned closer, I didnât resist.

âCanât escape the dreams, love?â
Every night is always the same. Screams from the same person, nightmares coming from the demons haunting her sleep. Me? I sit there and watch.
Standing up from the bed, I lean down and kiss Ella's forehead, whispering soothing words to reassure her. "It's okay, Ella. You're safe now. It's me, Aaron, your husband."
She clings to me, seeking solace in my embrace, her tears soaking into my shirt. Gently, I lift her into my arms and carry her downstairs to the couch. I settle her there, kissing her once more before sitting beside her, holding her close until her breathing steadies and she falls back into a fitful sleep.
Just as I begin to relax, the doorbell rings, jolting me back to reality. With a sigh, I glance at Ella, still asleep on the couch, before rising to answer it.
Opening the door, I find Kenji standing there, his expression a mix of concern and frustration. "What the fuck, man? You can't just leave me hanging like that," he snaps.
I sneak a quick look at Ella before turning back to him. "She's having nightmares, Kenji. She's been through so much in the last month or two!" I almost shout, the frustration boiling over. "You need to back off."
Kenji's eyes widen with anger and confusion. "I didn't know! You could've at least given me a heads-up, Warner."
I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself. "Just... give us some space. She's dealing with a lot."
Kenji's expression softens as he takes a step back. "Fine. Just let me know if there's anything I can do."
With a nod, I close the door and return to Ella's side, determined to do whatever it takes to ease her pain and bring her some measure of peace.
Scouts the name
Peeta and I stood in the cozy kitchen of our home, a fluffy golden retriever puppy sitting between us, wagging his tail excitedly. The puppyâs big brown eyes looked up at us, seemingly curious about the discussion we were having.
âIâm telling you, âBuddyâ is a perfect name,â Peeta insisted, folding his arms across his chest. âItâs friendly, easy to remember, and fits his personality.â
I shook my head, smiling at his earnestness. âBuddy is cute, but itâs so common. I think we should give him a name that stands out a bit more, something unique.â
Peeta raised an eyebrow. âLike what?â
I glanced down at the puppy, who was now pawing at Peetaâs leg. âWhat about âScoutâ? Itâs from âTo Kill a Mockingbird,â and itâs adventurous and has a friendly vibe.â
Peetaâs expression softened, and he looked at the puppy thoughtfully. âScout, huh? I like it. Itâs got a nice ring to it, and it suits him perfectly.â
I smiled, feeling a sense of satisfaction. âScout it is, then.â
Peeta grinned and crouched down, lifting Scout into his arms. âWelcome to the family, Scout,â he said, giving the puppy a gentle pat.
I leaned in, joining the embrace. âYeah, welcome home, Scout.â
Scout barked happily, his tail wagging furiously as if he approved of his new name. As Peeta and I stood there, holding our new furry friend, I felt a warm sense of contentment.
Suddenly, Peeta leaned in and kissed me softly, a gesture filled with love and affection. I melted into the kiss, feeling a surge of warmth spread through me. When we pulled away, he took my hand and led me to the couch.
We sat down together, Scout curling up at our feet. Buttercup, our old cat, sauntered over and jumped onto Peetaâs lap, purring contentedly. Peeta rubbed his back gently, and he nestled into his shoulder, soon falling asleep.
As we sat there, surrounded by our beloved pets, I couldnât help but feel grateful for the love and happiness that filled our home. With Peeta by my side, and our furry friends keeping us company, I knew that everything was exactly as it should be.
The Name Game
I sat cross-legged on the plush, white carpet of our living room, watching, amused by Kenji and Aaron running their mouths. âI am not naming my child after a Disney character!â Aaron shouted.
âWhy not? Rapunzel is a beautiful name!â Kenji shouted back.
âSheâs fictional, Kishimoto! Damn it, youâre insane!â
I got up and stood by Aaron, rubbing his back. âNazeera!â I called.
âNo! No, no, no, no. J! Donât call her down, please, please, please,â Kenji pleaded.
âToo bad, Iâm down here already,â she smirked as she walked down the stairs.
Aaron pressed his hand to my stomach, life fluttering wildly inside me. Kenji and Nazeera continued to argue, and Aaron kissed my head.
Nazeera kissed Kenji to shut him up, then lifted him onto her back. âWe agreed on the name Lorelei, and if itâs a boy, Eric,â Nazeera shouted on her way up the stairs, carrying Kenji on her back.
âThat was fun to watch,â I laughed.
Aaron kissed my head again. âIt certainly was.â
Hidden Secrets
The room felt suffocating, the air thick with the weight of my unspoken truth. I sat alone, my hands trembling as I clutched the potion vial, its contents a silent testament to the life growing within me.
Every fiber of my being screamed for release, for the freedom to confide in the man I loved. But fear held me captive, trapping me in a web of deceit that grew more tangled with each passing moment.
A knock at the door shattered the fragile calm of my solitude, sending a shiver down my spine. With a heavy heart, I rose to answer, the ache in my chest a relentless reminder of the burden I carried.
The healer stood before me, her expression a mask of concern as she took in my pallor and trembling form. Without a word, she ushered me inside, her touch gentle yet firm as she guided me to a nearby chair.
As she worked her magic, soothing my symptoms with practiced ease, the silence between us stretched taut with unspoken questions. But before I could summon the courage to speak, the door burst open, revealing Cardan's stormy expression.
His eyes narrowed as they landed on me, a silent accusation hanging between us like a shadow. "What's going on here?" His voice was sharp, cutting through the tension that crackled in the air.
Before I could respond, the healer stepped forward, her presence a welcome distraction from the turmoil that churned within me. "Your Majesty, Lady Jude is unwell," she explained, her tone measured as she addressed Cardan. "She's experiencing symptoms that suggest she may beâ"
"Enough," I interjected, my voice strained with the weight of my deception. "It's nothing, just a passing illness."
Cardan's gaze softened, his concern mingling with relief as he crossed the room to stand beside me. "Jude, why didn't you tell me?"
I forced a smile, the lie bitter on my tongue. "I didn't want to worry you."
But as the words left my lips, guilt twisted like a knife in my chest. How could I deceive him so easily, knowing the truth would shatter the fragile bonds that held us together?
But for now, I pushed aside my doubts, burying them beneath layers of denial as Cardan enveloped me in his embrace. With the healer's assurances echoing in the silence between us, I closed my eyes and prayed for sleep to grant me temporary respite from the tangled web of lies that threatened to consume me whole.
The healer's presence lingered a moment longer, her eyes flicking between Cardan and me, before she quietly excused herself, leaving us alone in the dimly lit room. The door clicked shut behind her, amplifying the oppressive silence that settled between us.
Cardan's hands were warm against my shoulders, a stark contrast to the cold dread that clung to my insides. "Jude," he murmured, his voice barely more than a whisper. "You can trust me. You know that, don't you?"
I nodded, unable to meet his gaze. "Of course," I lied, the words hollow and brittle.
He guided me to the bed, his movements gentle but insistent. As we sat side by side, the space between us felt like a chasm, filled with the weight of unspoken truths. I could feel his eyes on me, searching for answers that I wasn't ready to give.
"Are you sure it's just an illness?" His question hung in the air, heavy with unspoken fears.
"Yes," I replied quickly, too quickly. "It's just a headache, some fatigue. Nothing serious."
Cardan's brow furrowed, his worry etched into every line of his face. "You've been pushing yourself too hard. You need to rest."
"I know," I said softly, the guilt gnawing at me. "I will."
We sat in silence for a moment, the tension between us like a coiled spring. I could feel the pressure building, the inevitability of confrontation looming ever closer.
"Jude," Cardan began, his voice a mix of frustration and concern. "Why do I feel like you're hiding something from me?"
I looked up at him, my heart aching at the sincerity in his eyes. For a moment, I considered telling him the truth, laying bare the secret that had been consuming me from the inside out. But fear held my tongue, and I shook my head.
"There's nothing to hide," I said, the lie tasting bitter on my lips.
He sighed, running a hand through his dark hair. "I don't believe you," he admitted, his voice pained. "But I won't press you tonight. Just... promise me you'll take care of yourself."
"I promise," I whispered, the words feeling like a betrayal.
Cardan stood, pulling me into his arms and holding me close. His embrace was warm, comforting, and it made the deception all the more unbearable. "Get some rest," he murmured against my hair. "We'll talk more in the morning."
As he left the room, I sank back onto the bed, the exhaustion finally overtaking me. The healer's potions had dulled the worst of my symptoms, but the turmoil in my heart was far from soothed. I closed my eyes, praying for sleep to grant me a brief reprieve from the tangled web of lies I had spun.
But even as I drifted off, I knew the truth would not stay hidden forever. The day would come when I would have to face the consequences of my deception. Until then, I clung to the fragile hope that somehow, some way, I would find the courage to reveal my secret and trust in the strength of the bond that held us together.
The next morning, the sunlight streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow over the room. I stirred, feeling the remnants of my fatigue weighing me down. My mind was a tangled mess of fear and regret, and the secret I harbored loomed like a shadow over my heart.
As I sat up, the door creaked open, and Cardan entered with a tray of breakfast. His expression was softer than the previous night, concern still evident but tempered with a determined gentleness.
"Good morning," he said, placing the tray on the bedside table. "I brought you something to eat."
"Thank you," I murmured, avoiding his gaze as I reached for a piece of bread. The silence between us was heavy, the unspoken tension still simmering beneath the surface.
Cardan sat beside me, his presence a comforting weight on the bed. "Jude," he began, his voice steady but firm. "We need to talk."
I knew this moment would come, but that didnât make it any easier. I swallowed hard, nodding slightly as I prepared myself for the inevitable confrontation.
"I need you to be honest with me," Cardan continued, his eyes searching mine. "What is really going on?"
My heart raced, the words I had rehearsed in my mind faltering on my lips. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what I was about to do. "Cardan, Iâ"
Before I could continue, the door burst open, revealing Taryn. Her eyes were wide with alarm, her expression frantic. "Jude, Cardan, there's an urgent matter that needs your attention."
Cardan stood immediately, his concern for me momentarily eclipsed by the urgency in Taryn's voice. "What is it?"
"An attack on the northern border," Taryn said, her voice tight with worry. "They need your guidance."
Cardan's eyes flicked back to me, torn between his duty and his desire to protect me. "Jude, are youâ"
"I'll be fine," I interjected, forcing a reassuring smile. "Go. We'll talk later."
He hesitated for a moment, his hand lingering on mine before he turned to follow Taryn. The door closed behind them, and I was left alone once more, the weight of my secret pressing down on me like a physical force.
As the minutes stretched into hours, I paced the room, my mind racing with the possibilities of how to handle the situation. The fear of discovery gnawed at me, each moment feeling like a countdown to the inevitable revelation.
Finally, as the sun began to rise, Cardan returned, his expression weary but resolute. "Jude, we need to finish our conversation."
I nodded, my resolve hardening as I prepared to face the truth. "Cardan, there's something I need to tell you."
His eyes locked onto mine, the intensity of his gaze almost too much to bear. "Go on."
I took a deep breath, but the words refused to come. Instead, I deflected. "I've been feeling overwhelmed," I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "The pressures of ruling, the constant threats... it's been getting to me."
Cardan's expression softened, his worry evident. "Why didn't you tell me sooner? We can share this burden, Jude. You don't have to carry it alone."
"I know," I whispered, the guilt gnawing at me. "I just... I didn't want to seem weak."
"You're not weak," Cardan said firmly, taking my hand in his. "You're the strongest person I know. But even you need help sometimes."
I nodded, forcing a smile. "Thank you, Cardan. I'll try to be more open with you."
His fingers tightened around mine, and he pulled me into a gentle embrace. "Promise me you'll take care of yourself," he murmured against my hair. "I can't bear to see you like this."
"I promise," I said, the lie bitter on my tongue.
As Cardan held me close, I felt the crushing weight of my deception pressing down on me. I had skirted the truth once more, buying myself a little more time. But I knew that eventually, the truth would come out. Until then, I could only hope that I would find the courage to face it and trust in the strength of our bond to weather the storm.
Cardan's embrace was warm, his breath gentle against my hair. For a moment, I allowed myself to sink into his presence, to draw strength from the steady beat of his heart. But the fear and guilt gnawing at my insides refused to be silenced.
The next few days passed in a blur of court duties and fleeting moments of rest. Cardan was by my side whenever possible, his concern a constant reminder of the secret I kept hidden. Each time I looked into his eyes, the weight of my deception grew heavier, yet the words to confess eluded me.
One evening, as the moon cast a silvery glow over our chambers, Cardan and I sat in silence, the unspoken tension thick between us. He reached for my hand, his touch sending a shiver down my spine.
"Jude," he began softly, his eyes searching mine. "I know something is still bothering you. Please, let me in."
I looked away, my heart pounding. "It's just... everything feels so overwhelming. The pressures of ruling, the constant threats... I don't know how to cope."
Cardan's grip tightened, his expression pained. "You don't have to face this alone. I'm here for you, no matter what."
Tears welled up in my eyes, the urge to confess nearly overwhelming. But fear held me back, and I forced a smile instead. "Thank you, Cardan. Your support means everything to me."
His eyes narrowed slightly, as if sensing the half-truth in my words. But he nodded, accepting my answer for now. "We'll get through this, Jude. Together."
As he pulled me into his arms, I closed my eyes, the guilt of my deceit weighing heavily on my heart. Sleep came fitfully, haunted by dreams of what might happen if the truth were revealed.
In the early hours of the night, I woke to find Cardan still holding me, his expression peaceful in sleep. The sight filled me with a bittersweet ache. How much longer could I keep this secret from him? How much longer before the weight of my deception tore us apart?
Determined to find some clarity, I slipped out of bed and wrapped a cloak around my shoulders. The night air was cool as I made my way to the castle gardens, seeking solace among the shadows.
Lost in thought, I didn't hear the footsteps behind me until it was too late. A hand touched my shoulder, and I whirled around to find Cardan standing there, his eyes filled with concern.
"Jude, what are you doing out here?" he asked, his voice soft but firm.
"I couldn't sleep," I admitted, my voice trembling slightly. "I needed some air."
He studied me for a long moment, his expression unreadable. "Is there something you want to tell me?"
My heart raced, the urge to confess battling with my fear. But once again, I hesitated, the words caught in my throat. "No," I said finally, the lie tasting bitter on my tongue. "There's nothing."
Cardan's eyes darkened with a mix of frustration and sadness. "I can feel you pulling away from me, Jude. Please, let me help."
"I don't know how," I whispered, tears threatening to spill over. "I don't know how to let you in."
He took a step closer, his hand reaching out to cup my cheek. "Start by trusting me. Whatever it is, we can face it together."
The sincerity in his eyes nearly broke me, but still, I couldn't bring myself to speak the truth. Instead, I leaned into his touch, hoping that somehow, he could feel the depth of my love despite the lies.
For now, the secret remained mine to bear, the burden growing heavier with each passing day. But as Cardan pulled me into his arms once more, I clung to the fragile hope that one day, I would find the courage to reveal the truth and trust in the strength of our bond to weather the storm.
The night enveloped us in its suffocating embrace, the tension thick in the air like a heavy fog. Cardan's arm draped around me, his touch both a comfort and a reminder of the secrets I held within.
"Jude," his voice broke through the silence, his tone a mixture of urgency and frustration. "We need to talk."
My heart pounded in my chest, the weight of my deception pressing down on me like a leaden weight. "Yes," I whispered, my voice barely audible in the dimly lit room. "We do."
His gaze bore into mine, searching for answers I couldn't bring myself to give. "Tell me what's going on," he demanded, his tone tinged with desperation.
I swallowed hard, the lump in my throat nearly suffocating me. "I... I can't," I choked out, tears stinging my eyes.
Cardan's grip tightened, his frustration boiling over. "Damn it, Jude," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "I can feel you slipping away from me. Tell me the truth."
My resolve crumbled under the weight of his intensity, but still, I couldn't bring myself to confess. "I'm sorry," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I can't."
Frustration flashed across Cardan's face, his anger simmering just below the surface. In an instant, he surged forward, pinning me against the wall with a force that stole my breath away.
"Enough lies," he spat, his voice laced with venom. "I can feel something isn't right. Tell me what's going on, Jude."
I opened my mouth to speak, to finally reveal the truth that had been tearing me apart. But before I could utter a word, his hand shifted to rest on my stomach, and the world seemed to freeze. Silence stretched between us, thick and heavy with unspoken words.
But then, nothing happened. Cardan's brow furrowed in confusion, his hand still against my stomach. âWhat was that?" he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
Panic surged through me, but I forced myself to remain calm. "I don't know," I lied, my heart pounding in my chest. "Maybe... maybe it was just indigestion or something."
But Cardan wasn't convinced. His gaze bore into mine, searching for the truth. "Jude," he said softly, his voice tinged with concern. "Are you sure you're okay?"
I nodded, forcing a smile. "Yes, I'm fine," I lied, the guilt of my deception weighing heavily on my shoulders.
For a long moment, Cardan studied me, his expression unreadable. But then, he seemed to shake himself out of his reverie, his grip loosening slightly as he pulled away. âAlright," he said, his voice heavy with uncertainty. "If you say so."
As he moved away, a wave of relief washed over me, but it was short-lived. The truth still hung between us, a heavy burden that threatened to tear us apart.
As we lay together in the quiet of the night, I couldn't shake the feeling that our lives were about to change in ways we couldn't yet imagine. And though I longed to confess the truth, the fear of losing Cardan held me back.
But as the night wore on and sleep finally claimed us, I knew that the truth could only remain hidden for so long. And when the time came, I could only hope that Cardan would forgive me for the lies I'd told.
Days passed, each one heavier with the weight of my secret. Cardan's concern grew with every passing moment, his eyes searching mine for answers I couldn't give.
I tried to deflect his questions, to bury my fear beneath a facade of strength, but the truth was a heavy burden that threatened to consume me.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, I felt a familiar wave of nausea wash over me. I stumbled from the room, desperate for a moment alone to gather my thoughts.
But before I could escape, Cardan appeared in the doorway, his brow furrowed with concern. âJude, are you alright?" he asked, his voice filled with worry.
I forced a smile, trying to hide the turmoil churning inside me. "I'm fine," I lied, my voice wavering slightly.
But Cardan wasn't convinced. He moved closer, his gaze searching mine with an intensity that made my heart race. "You're not fine," he said softly, his hand reaching out to cup my cheek. "Please, Jude, tell me what's wrong.â
Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, threatening to spill over at any moment. I wanted nothing more than to confess the truth, to unburden myself of the weight that had been crushing me for so long.
But the fear held me back, a suffocating grip that refused to loosen its hold.
"I..." But the words refused to come, trapped behind a wall of fear and uncertainty.
Cardan's expression softened, his touch gentle against my skin. "You don't have to face this alone, Jude," he whispered, his voice filled with a tenderness that made my heart ache. "Whatever it is, we'll face it together."
For a moment, I wavered on the edge of confession, the truth hovering just out of reach. But then, with a heavy sigh, I pushed it away, burying it beneath layers of denial and deceit.
âI'm sorry, Cardan," I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes. "I can't... I can't tell you."
His gaze held mine for a long moment, a silent plea for honesty lingering between us. But then, with a resigned sigh, he pulled me into his arms, holding me close as I sobbed against his chest.
âWe'll figure this out," he murmured, his voice a soothing balm to my frazzled nerves. "Whatever it is, we'll face it together."

As we stood together in the fading light, the weight of my secret still heavy on my shoulders, I couldn't shake the feeling that our lives were about to change in ways we couldn't yet imagine.
And though I longed to confess the truth, the fear of losing Cardan held me back.
But as the night wore on and sleep finally claimed us, I knew that the truth could only remain hidden for so long. And when the time came, I could only hope that Cardan would forgive me for the lies I'd told, and that our love would be strong enough to weather whatever storms lay ahead.
In the tranquil embrace of the castle garden, Cardan and I found ourselves seated on a stone bench, surrounded by the fragrant blooms that adorned the lush greenery.
Yet, despite the serene setting, a storm of emotions brewed within me, threatening to shatter the fragile peace.
âJude," Cardan's voice broke through the stillness, his concern evident as he looked into my eyes. "What's wrong? You seem... distant."
I forced a smile, though my heart was heavy with the weight of my secret. "I'm fine," I replied, the lie tasting bitter on my lips.
But Cardan wasn't convinced. He drew closer, his touch gentle yet probing as he reached for my hand. "Tell me," he urged, his voice soft but insistent. "I want to understand."
A sharp pain pierced through my abdomen, causing me to gasp in surprise. Instinctively, I doubled over, clutching at my stomach as waves of agony washed over me.
Cardan's arms enveloped me, his concern palpable as he held me close, his hand rubbing soothing circles on my back.
âJude, what's happening? Are you... dying?" His voice trembled with fear, his eyes wide with alarm.
I shook my head, tears pricking at the corners of my eyes. "No," I whispered, my voice barely audible amidst the pain. "But I want to."
For a moment, there was silence as Cardan processed my words, his expression a mixture of confusion and anguish.
And then, as if guided by an unseen force, I took his hand and placed it against my stomach.
At first, there was only stillness, the garden holding its breath as we waited in anticipation.
And then, like a flutter of wings, a gentle movement stirred beneath his touch, a silent testament to the life growing within me.
Cardan's eyes widened in disbelief, his hand trembling against my abdomen as he searched for words. "How... how far along are you?" he whispered, his voice filled with awe and wonder.
I hesitated, the weight of my confession heavy on my shoulders. "Four months," I finally admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
As the realization washed over him, Cardan's expression softened, his eyes filled with a mixture of joy and regret.
He thought back to the past four months, piecing together the moments we had shared, the secrets I had kept hidden.
And in that moment, amidst the tangled vines and fragrant blossoms of the castle garden, our hearts beat as one, united by the promise of love and the hope of a future filled with endless possibilities.
