The place has everything I love:

costumes that somehow evoke both cartoon characters and showgirls

flashy makeup

batty old ladies who collect fairy tale memorabilia

synchronized swimming

manatees

giant seahorse statues you can sit on

small-town, working-class girls living their dreams

female friendship

public (semi-)nudity

Dear Michele,

I miss summer when a park bench and a peach ring-flavored Four Loko were all we needed to have a good time.

Now that its cold outside, we have to meet in bars and pay for drinks like respectable people.

Let's make a list of affordable adventures!

We could:

see the Origami Christmas tree at the Natural History museum (wearing Christmas-y outfits, of course).

go shopping at the 99 cent store for Christmas-y accessories

take a tour of ladies nights/free shows/supermarkets with free samples.

befriend more people with spacious apartments and invite ourselves over for parties!
