25k Training Week 6
Monday - 2 miles easy
Tuesday - 2 miles easy
Wednesday - 2 miles easy
Thursday - 1 mile recovery
Friday - 1 mile easy
Saturday - 10 miles (trail) - Only got 4 miles in. Heat index was 104F most of the day.
Sunday - 1 mile easy - legs were sore from Saturday
The next few weekends are a lot less busy, so I will have morning time to get my long run in. Summer is here!
The last of the runners are coming through. What a fun morning!!
I have 10 miles today. 2 are done, but might just do 4 now and 6 this evening
So, spectating a marathon Sunday. I need to make some signs
Where our house is on the course, it's pretty much all downhill to the river. So I was thinking of making a sign that says "It's all downhill from here!"
Any other suggestions?
Also, going to hand out frozen grapes, I think.

25k Training Week 5
Monday - 3 easy miles
Tuesday - 3 miles hills
Wednesday - 2 miles easy
Thursday - 1 mile recovery
Friday - 2 miles easy
Saturday - 4 miles hills (trail) 1 mile, spent most of the day on my feet
Sunday - 10 miles (trail) No excuses, didn't want to do 10 miles. Opted for 6 miles instead.
2 busy weekends in a row suck when it comes to getting my training in. Next weekend will be better.
We spent all day at a convention out of town yesterday and I really did not want to do my 10 mile long run. I am compromising and running 6. Next week is a "cut back" week, but I'll do a 10 mile run then. We have nothing going on next weekend, so I'll be more likely to want to run. Now, to see if anyone wants to do my long run with me on Saturday.
I know I should be doing some cross training too. The algorithm fed me some jump roping videos. So I ordered a jump rope. Should be fun!
25k Training Week 4 Done
Monday - 3 easy miles - soleus pain (right leg) again....
Tuesday - 3 easy miles - much better run! soleus discomfort about 2 miles in, but quickly went away
Wednesday - 2 easy miles - no soleus pain/discomfort!!!
Thursday - 1 recovery mile + soleus strengthening exercises
Friday - 2 miles easy
Saturday - CRFD Memorial 5k with Monkey! Monkey PR'd!!!
Sunday - 10 miles trail 3 miles - No excuses, just didn't want to run 10 miles.
No soleus pain Friday, but did for a little bit during the race Saturday. No pain Sunday either!
Spent the morning at the Renaissance Faire and now it's really hot. Long run was supposed to be today, maybe I'll run it tomorrow since I have the day off.
And sadly, I can't do my long run on the trail since my car is being a POS again and won't start. I think the starter finally crapped out. It had been giving me trouble for awhile and I thought I could wait just a little bit longer. Nope! So I'll run in the paved trail near our house, hopefully before it gets too hot.

Ran in my new Rabbit shorts today. I mean they're the same as my other ones, but a different color. They are so comfortable and the material is so soft. I will have to buy a pair in every color. The length is perfect for me, just long enough to not feel like they're riding up all the time.

25k Training Week 3 Done!
My first cutback week.
Monday - 2 miles easy*
Tuesday - 2 miles easy*
Wednesday - 2 miles easy*
Thursday - 1 mile recovery** + soleus strengthening exercises
Friday - 2 miles easy***
Saturday - 2 miles easy
Sunday - 7 miles long run
Going to attempt to do my soleus strengthening exercises every other day or as the soreness allows.
*My runs after Sunday, with my zero drop shoes, have had soleus pain. Which is weird. I had no pain what so ever on that long run with my new shoes.
** Only discomfort today, probably since it was only a mile.
***Just discomfort today too, but less than earlier in the week!
Sunday's run was rough and so very slow. My solar plexus was hurting when I ran, so there was a lot more walking than I wanted. But I finished with NO SOLEUS PAIN!!!!
Monkey has another scout campout this weekend, so I figured I would do my 7 mile long run tomorrow after breakfast. We'll go get coffee and breakfast at our favorite coffee shop and then I'll run home. Perfect 7 miles home. Then long run will be done and I can read the rest of the day and hopefully beat the storms.
So, yeah. Opting to run later. Just exhausted this morning. We had some bad storms last night and up where Monkey was camping. I was a nervous wreck most of the night worrying. It's what I do best! But a run later will be good heat training...or that's what I keep telling myself. Also, thinking about it, I really didn't want to have to run through downtown. I don't feel as safe as I used to.
