if merthur wasn’t really subtext in the show, and we’re reading too much into their bond, I genuinely wanna know what the writers were aiming at with the placing of the piece of merlin’s jacket over the city of camelot on the map. this can’t be a coincidence and us reading too much into things. the camera paused on the city of camelot’s name on the map and agravaine placed the cloth directly over it, there’s no meaning I can think of other than that the whole city equals nothing to arthur without merlin, that his entire kingdom pales in front of that burned piece of merlin’s jacket, the only thing arthur had left of him.
