I just want it documented somewhere that in 2019, on instagram dot com, i coined a stupid ass term "genderpiss" that i posted about in the "zepeto queer discourse" format of the time. I defined the term as like, some sort of punk, rebellious, trashy version of genderfluid. It wasnt a serious post but it wasnt satire either, i was just joking "haha my gender is piss" type shit.

Unfortunately i got bullied in mass for it so badly that i had to delete the post. Some larger content creator literally made a "call to action" for people to come insult me and shit. Nowadays i see people making that kind of joke all the time so i suppose i was ahead of my time.

I'm pretty sure i could still find the original jpegs on my computer or something if i can be arsed.

In 2023, i didn't finish my redraw, so this year i decided to take the sketch back and finally finish it, but i ended up tweaking it so much that the 2023 sketch stands out as its own and so i included it in the overall comparison as well, even tho it's only an unfinished sketch.

Some years i do a Redraw of this 2017 piece i made of this character that was my oc back then. Still an oc technically, i just simply abandonned her storyline, she only exists within the context of the halloween redraw i do occasionally. (I think she may have been my first oc ever?)

I originally intended this piece to be a practice of lighting and colors, but by the time i had laid flat colors down, i was very unmotivated, as a result, a lot of it has flaws and isnt as "properly" done as i originally wanted it to be. But ultimately i wanted to have fun getting back into art and so i did not want to force myself and this is the final result. I still got to practice when it came to the colored sketch!

Honestly, very excited about the character safi, because i really wanna see more of max's personality in friendships/potential romances outside of chloe.

Yes in the og game we had kate marsh, but due to her situation, max was more of a "therapist friend" than a regular one, we also had warren but he wasnt all that interesting due to basically being flirty most of the time and not that presentin the game. And i wouldnt consider victoria, brooke or any other characters really friends of max, even by the end of the game.

So i feel like ive only seen max being close to chloe and chloe only and i would be so interested to see her close to someone else too and how she is with other people! Super excited about that.

Dont get me wrong, id be disappointed if chloe wasnt in the game but i really dont think they'll do that so im not worried about that.

Soooo, new life is strange game, uh?

I'm excited but i must admit, one thing is bothering me a lot and it's max's new design.

I feel like they tried to make her more conventionally attractive and i don't really like it? Some are really small details like her nose slightly being different, or where her features are placed and spaced. But some are very obvious like her jawline is more "feminine". It looks like they got rid of her eyebags/eye skin pigmentation. Her freckles used to be more realistic, she had a lot of them, not just on her cheeks but all over her nose and around her eyes, they were "splotshy" too. Now she has so little of them, theyre perfectly round and meticulously placed on her cheeks. It looks more like when instagram models draw them on with makeup than someone who actually has them.

Some people have said that that's because she aged, she was 18 and she's now 29 so obviously she was gonna change. But i dont agree with that cause you dont just get a whole new bone structure, especially your jaw, by aging, and if anything her freckles should have become more "chaotic" due to sun exposure over time, and her nose should have been slightly bigger as our noses keep growing with age.

Anyways, i'll stay hopeful and just keep in mind that this is a trailer, in trailers they often change graphics by adding blurs and show "flattering" angles of the characters. So maybe in game we'll get to see that she actually has more freckles, her nose or chin isnt smaller, maybe she has expression lines on her face...etc

But i don't know if i should really be hopeful considering its deck nine who worked on it... you know, the studio called out for having a misoginy and overall bigotted issues...

Btw i am diagnosed with prosopagnosia so my observations are approximative, here's pics that i looked at to reach these conclusions, feel free to tell me your opinions and if im wrong

My favorite page(s) of my (april) sketchbook! These are redraws from the concept art and the official artwork of this character, one of the sticky notes is a slightly modified redraw of an artwork made by hightonhelen on instagram! And the background is my first attempted at using gouache, referencing an ocean picture i found on google, but it doesnt really look like it in the end lol. Topping it all off with some stars and dolphin stickers because thats something i really enjoy doing in my sketchbook.

Sasha (or Anne as i prefer to call her, french version) is my favorite character design from the ace attorney franchise so far (as i am not done with the games yet), a quirky gender non confirming scene pirate? Yeah of course i was going to love her! And the case was fun to me <3

We're already aknowledging the phenomenon of people saying "afabs only", and at this point i think most of us can see how and why its transmisogynistic (and even transphobic as a whole as it impacts trans men too, but in a way thats less harmful to them than it is to trans women)

But can we talk about, and acknowledge, the new variant ive been seeing of "fems only"?

Because, to be honest, i can't even say it is transphobic as i never know what people mean by it. Like what part of somebody do you examine to classify them as fem or masc? Is it their identity? Is it their clothes? What they pass as? Their bodies?

And even if you could pin point only one of these, it would still confuse me to some extent. Like if you say you mean "fem" as in what kind of body they have, then how would you categorise different types of intersex people or different types of trans people? If you tell me you mean fem as in the clothes they wear/their presentation, then id have to ask why are you building a space that excludes butches and studs but includes cishet fem men? Whats the motive?

And i could go on with exemples of how taking each of these traits as the "examining point" is too binary to categorise everybody and how it seems to exclude in very weird and arbitrary ways. It just makes no sense. And thats without even mentionning the people who say they just "look at the person as a whole/look at all these traits", which would logically create some weird math.

What "fems only" feels like, is that any queer, trans, intersex or gnc person will be left wondering if it includes them or not and will most likely not even ask.

So to be honest, so far it kind of feels like "fems only" just means "in proximity to the norm" and feels like a "non problematic way" of pushing away anyone who challenges cisnormativity to some extent.

The other day i was bored so i drew something real quick and then reworked it a bit in digital so that its more readable lol

One thing i noticed about being trans that i think is so fun is that the way we use terminologies is kinda exclusive to us (at least thats how it works in my country/native language).

Like cis people tend to refer to us as either transsexual or transgender, but amongst the community we just say trans.

And it made me think it would be funny/cool if we had terms that are more specific in a similar manner. So i started "making up" my own terminology and instead of saying "transitionning transgender man" i started saying "testosteroned" and instead of "transitionning transgender woman" i started saying "estrogened".

And i think its really funny and silly and the whole community should start saying that. And just like the word "trans" its more convinient cause its shorter than "transitionning...etc" like its just hormoned from now on.
