Since "assigned (gender) at birth" terms were created by and for intersex people, might I suggest "socially raised (gender)" for intersex and perisex folks?
For example, I would talk about "my experiences as an assigned female at birth to transgender man" but I am not intersex, so I would talk about "my experiences as someone socially raised female to transgender man".
A lot of trans people are excluded from the "opposite" category's experiences as a form of malgendering. My example would be how I am excluded from "female" spaces because I am a trans man. Just because I'm a trans man doesn't mean I didn't live through socially "female" things. Identifying as a man doesn't stop the systemic prejudice I face. So, these terms could help trans people talk about such experiences easier.
Anyways, just an idea for more inclusive language so perisex trans folks aren't stealing intersex terms. Of course, I'd say intersex people can use these terms too!
SRF = socially raised female. SRM = socially raised male.
Would the transfem counterpart to Androsexiness be Misosexiness or Femsexiness? And would non-binary be Enbysexiness or Neusexiness?
This is a very important conundrum
You are absolutely right, this is a very important conundrum.
For transfems both of those would probably be great options, but we also could have Gynesexiness.
Following the Latin word andro in androsexiness. But to be completely honest, i’m not the most comfortable deciding which ones of these words would be most appropriate, as I’m not transfem. I think at the end of the day if this term ever would get popularized(I hope it does), I think it would be down to the individual trans person to choose which word fits their experience the best. Anyways you ladies are purely wonderful and I love you so much
What I am most certainly comfortable talking about though is the words for non-binary people. I probably would end up mostly using Neusexiness. Mostly because I know other non-binary people that aren’t the biggest fan of the word Enby. I would probably also add the words Nullsexiness or Mutisexiness, for agender/gerndernull and Mutigernder folks respectively. Now, i’m still looking for a word for genderfluid folks, so if anybody has any proposals, I’m glad to hear it!
I really do like how this community has turned someone insulting transmasc by using the word Androhysteria in relation to transmasc talk about their oppression into “yeah trans people of all genders are really fucking sexy”, I love that we do this.
So far we have:
Androsexiness: the unique way that transmasc individuals present (each one in their own way) their sexiness in relation to their transmasc identity
Misosexiness/Femsexiness/Gynesexiness: the unique way that transfems individuals present (each one in their own way) their sexiness in relation to their transfem identity
Enbysexiness/Neusexiness/Nullsexiness/Mutisexiness: the unique way that non transmasc/fems individuals present (each one in their own way) their sexiness in relation to their trans identity
Intersexiness: the unique way that intersex individuals present (each one in their own way) their sexiness in relation to their intersex identity
TDH trans people might find this a useful tool to describe their own sexiness. We are so often fetishized in the eyes of the cisarchy, this could potentially be a very good way for us to reclaim our sexual autonomy, free for the patriarchal/cisarchal regulations on what and what is it sexy. I hope somebody finds a use for these terms, I am WAY to ace to appear sexy. Not saying that ace people can’t, I just can’t.
Wondering what a gender-related word or acronym means? Check out The Transgender Dictionary! See a definition (or something else) that looks like it could use some editing? Spot a typo or formatting error? Send me an ask with some feedback! (Asks are the best way for me to keep track of things to edit/change.)
I don't know everything, and am mainly working on this on my own. I really appreciate everyone who has helped out or pointed out things that need some tweaking. I don't know everything, and am still learning myself.
This site is an ongoing work in progress. I prefer to have unedited information available rather than no information. Again, though, if anything is egregiously wrong, please let me know.
So, people who fall under the trans masculine umbrella, how do you prefer to refer to it?
Trans masculine (two words)
Transmasculine (one word)
Trans masc (two words)
Transmasc (one word)
Depends on context
I fall under the umbrella but don’t like using this term
Unsure / other (explain in notes)
Results / not trans masculine
(Feel free to expand on your preference in the notes!)

Like I said before this isn’t my usual content but I felt the need to make this for a few reasons:
To educate people who might not be familiar with the terms
To show our representation in media
(This one & the next are kinda personal) I recently came out to some of my family as trans, and while they have taken it well, they don’t understand what being trans really is. So this is me organizing information in an accessible way
I’m nervous about publicly coming out and this makes me feel better about it
Please note that this does not contain all terms & information, as that would be a long post. I am also not aware of all trans representation in the world but I tried to include as many as I could
