“ Er… Yeah. Th—Though, I’m considering rechallenging the League, so… Uh… ” Which should be more surprising : a. ) the fact that he knew and recognized her, or b. ) that Hikari didn’t know how to respond, even after getting that question for, what — four years ?
“If you didn’t gave the guts to keep it the first time, what makes you think you deserve it in the first place.” Of course he knew who she was: when you want strong opponents, sometimes you had to look, and once he heard the shortie turned down the crown, he looked past her.

“Ain’t you the one that turned down the Sinnoh Championship?”
[mini starter call: mutuals only most likely one liner or about that, can turn into longer idc]
⊰˚❁ ▌⋮ ❝No more talk about death. I’d be able to have too many parties if you were gone and I need a little brother around to remind me not to have too much fun.❞ Daisy gave a cheeky smile and winked toward her brother. She was only teasing. Truthfully the brunette had no clue what she would do if her brother just slipped from her life suddenly. She refused to entertain the thought further, shaking it off completely.
She glanced back to her brother, a hand resting on her hip. A light laugh and the shake of her head passed. ❝As much as I adore each new addition to our family that you bring, and you know I really do, we need to do some house cleaning…or begin looking into some more land. I’m sure a successful trainer such as yourself and with the profits I make from grooming we could buy some more land outside of pallet town. Just imagine bro, Arcanine and eevee everywhere. Pretty majestic, hm?❞
Now to this, whether or not she was joking or being serious, not even she could tell.
Did Daisy even remember how to have fun anymore? Maybe. Tea and massages weren’t very fun, and neither was daytime television, which, if he remembered correctly, was some of the only things she ever did as a pastime. Maybe he should pay more attention, especially to the fact that his pokemon always looked happy, well groomed and very much played with.
“If it’s really getting too cramped, I guess I could take some to hang out with me at the gym?” Technically the area around was for him to use, so long as he didn’t make any large modifications without league approval. It did get a little lonely, and some of the Pokemon might like playing on the spin panels he had installed.
“That would be cool!” Whether she was joking or not, he didn’t care. Lots of eevee were never something to joke about, “We could host races that people could bet on, and have classes on breeding and Pokemon care, and I could battle, and you could groom and it would be pretty cool!” But that would mean, well, actually moving, which he didn’t want to do.

⊰°˖❀⋰ After having gotten lost for at least the fifth time in the crowds at the festival the two were out, she jumped when she felt her hand taken into her friend’s. Looking up at Green her flushed for a moment, and her pace picked up to follow promptly behind the male. [or at least she attempted to, her little legs needed to step a few more times in order to equal his stride.] When they were where the crowd was not as dense and where they could, well, breathe, she beamed up at him as he continued to hold her hand. Her tiny hand gave his hand a squeeze in case it was one of those moments where he had forgotten that he was holding her hand. She began to tease him.
❝Green, not falling for me, ne?❞
He hated losing people.
Crowds, in the store, anywhere, really. The second he lost tabs on his partner, a sting of discomfort would shoot through him. What if they got snatched by some creep, his mind would jump to, eyes skimming frantically over heads to find the familiar raven tuff. Short people were a problem. So it made sense for him to just take her hand once she was located (again), grasp firm as to say ‘you dumbo, stop getting separated’.
He didn’t realize he was still holding it until he felt the pressure, glancing down some only to brighten at the question.
“What? No,” he forced out far to quickly, ready with a joke at the drop of a hat, “if I fell for you, you’d get squished, you doof.” Still, his hand stayed in his, a small reassurance between them to let him know she would be there no matter where he looked (which, at the moment, was up and away ever so slightly to stop her from seeing the embarrassment on his face).
╰ ❀ ╮ It wasn’t the first time in her life Rose had felt as if she were living underneath some rock in Pewter City.
Though the blonde had assumed those times were dead, buried into embarrassing childhood moments she didn’t want to revisit.
His initial silence drowns her in an uncomfortable sensation, makes her limbs antsy, makes her heart tick tick tick as she presses her weight downwards onto her toes, not once looking back towards him until he does that. That. That. The moment she feels his hands grace her own she twitches. Only slightly. Her force of will keeps her from pulling back hard as if she were singed. There’s a hitch in her breath, but she turns it into a faux yawn.
Don’t. Don’t. Don’t. Casual. Not now.
She exhales deeply, working up a smile no matter how insincere and rehearsed and awkward… Tiny, delicate fingers grasp his palm as vigorously as the weak things can manage.
If she pretends he’s someone else– Her gaze drifts down to his hands as if she’s distracted. Silence overtook her until the offer was on the table– quickly spurting out with a blush evident: “D-do they c-come in vegan?”
To think she’s so awkward with this and she wanted a kiss of all things.
“I mean– I can…” What is she? She’s never this inarticulate. “I’m more than happy to pay f-for my own!”
“Vegan?”
It’s an echo of confusion, the brunette only having heard the word a few times. What was a vegan again? Extreme vegetarianism? Something like that. “I...dunno? Maybe?” Thinking back to all of his candy related purchases, he couldn’t recall any sort of label that said such. “I mean, there’s probably some store that would sell them, it would just mean looking a little more. Don’t know til you try, right?”
Green was never the best with women, as much as he claimed to be, mind shrugging off all the awkward body language signals he could pick up on as her just being nervous to go with him. He didn’t blame her, he was kind of a big deal, after all.
Narcissism doesn’t get you a girl, genius. Focus.
Smiling some at the light squeeze, the gym leader figured it was a signal to let go. Maybe? Whens the last time he held hands again. Shaking his head, he couldn’t help but laugh a little, “Don’t be silly, of course I’m buyin’. I offered, right? Would be rude otherwise.” Turning some, he made a vague motion to follow, “We can check the convenience store first; see if they got your ‘vegan’ thing, and if they don’t I’ll see what I can find on my phone.”

❝Oh? A race? Well, that is alright with me but I will have you know I am on the track team at my school. This shall be a fun little challenge.❞
It had certainly been quite some time since the mimic had been able to have such fun with another, and to think it was a stranger whom she had only met a few times before. Moments like these were what life was made for, these instances of joy that made it all worth its while.
A trip to another region was in the works as well, albeit the imitator had also come to realization that she had no way of contacting the boy in order to plan the details out a little further. That little situation could be handled at a later time, for the moment, winning this little race was the imitator’s main priority. A hand pointed in the direction where the stand was located, a beaming smile upon roseate tiers before turning to the jade hued male.
❝The stand is over that way, so are you ready? One– - Two– - GO!❞
And off she ran without a moment’s hesitation.
Track team? Maybe he should have assessed his opponent better. Not that he thought it would matter, though. She was a girl, and everyone knew that guys were more fit for physical exertion. Having spent so much time racing with Red climbing through mountains and woods and generally being active, he figured it was a safe bet to place on himself. No way in hell was he going to lose to her.
And then she took off.
“H-hey!” Well that was hardly a warning, half tripping over himself to start. Breath in through the nose, out through the mouth, running with ones arms, all of it was drilled into the male by gym teachers long ago. Always with the top times and bragging rights, he should have had it in the bad.
There was just one problem: He got lazy as he grew older. Sure, he was good on speed, catching up to the flow of hair billowing behind the girl, but stamina was low. If he had to go much farther, he would be panting like a growlithe on a hot day.
A dismissive hand was waved in the younger kid’s direction. “Poppycock. It’d take a lot more than skill to catch her,” the mustache twitched more and more as Blaine spoke, “you’d have to have sheer dumb luck to even see her. I get the feeling she doesn’t show herself to just anyone, sonny. Probably why you’ve never seen her before, fufu.”
It’s not that Blaine completely doubted Green’s ability; no, he’d heard some stories that Samuel’s grandson was quite the force to be reckoned with, but Blaine just plain didn’t want Moltres to be caught. Everyone had heard the legends of the three birds that resided in Kanto. But they were that – legends to be revered, not just ordinary Pokemon to be caught and domesticated.
“Then it’s a good thing I’m not just ‘anyone’ then, huh.” The words were snapped, fire burning bright within him. At least it switched from anger to determination, scowl shifting into a smirk.
Caught in the moment, the hot headed trainer flicked a Pokeball off of his belt, tossing it up once before catching it, “You can make your own luck, old man, trust me. I’ve done it plenty of times, and no geezer or myth is going to stop it now. Sure, I won’t keep the thing, but you can bet that when I do catch her, I’m coming back to beat you to the ground a second time.” Blaine was weak to begin with, recalling his rather easy victory over his fire types with the help of his Sandslash. Fighting fire with fire was going to be a cinch.
“You would think running a gym would get me more street passes...”
Left to get a snack for two minutes and an eevee has already made themselves comfortable on his chair. Hello floor.
“Hey, you. Did you want a metapod?” Just kind of holds out the cocoon Pokemon. She didn’t seem to mind...or maybe she did.....how do you tell?

The hand made Hiroshi flinch for a moment before seeing that it was being offered to him rather than about to be struck by it, hopping onto the hand as he sniffed at it curiously. That was one of the downsides to shifting; everything looked like it was going to hurt you until proven otherwise.
“Well, most of the other Pokémon didn’t seem to mind me doing that!” He was about to use his stubby arms to point at a Starly nearby, but decided against it, realizing why it wasn’t scared as it could easily have him for supper like this. “Oh well, I guess you’ll have to help me find one then, right? You do the battlings and stuff!”
Oh no that was cute, he though to himself, raising the shifted man up to investigate closer. Yeah, he looked almost exactly like a normal plusle to him, not that the trainer encountered many. If only Red was around, he would be all over this. Maybe he should take a picture?
“Well, maybe Cincinno are more skittish than the ones you normally hang around with?” It seemed plausible: most normal types were good pickins’ for predator Pokemon, and going from a giant guy that could potentially make it unto dinner into a little bitty mouse would daunt even the bravest of them.
“You want be to catch you one?” A short pause, but more to think if he had anything he could use to catch weaker Pokemon than to answer, since it was going to be yes. “Yeah I think I can get you one. Uh....you know where it went or?”
“…………………………….Just a rock. Is there something wrong with that?”
“Not...really? I dunno, if people hand me random stuff, usually I can use them in a battle, like normal gems and stuff. ........... So it doesn’t do anything? At all?”
“Hey! This is for you. Here. Take this.”

►Green obtained a stone! Would you like to nickna- “Uh.... is it like a battle item or... just a...rock?”
