Instead, Lupin just keeps running, giving up on his complicated weaving to just run dead straight. The obstacles had been a futile move, anyway— there was no point in continuing to try to use them.

After all, all that matters now is wasting time; making himself a worthwhile distraction while Pampam rushes back to base. If they're really lucky, they'll even make it back without the stolen treasures being re-discovered and confiscated.

It's only when the sound behind him changes, getting alarmingly close alarmingly quickly, that he looks over his shoulder.

She's quick. Far quicker than he expected her to be.

Lupin doesn't even know why a ranger of all things is the one chasing him down— is the Almian police prescence really so poor that they've got no choice but to sic the pokémon protectors on him?

He skids gracelessy into the lush entrance of Vien Forest, using the thick trees and fallen logs as (hopeful) barriers between them. At any rate, it buys him the second he needs to grab his ill-gotten gains from his pocket, flinging them upwards and into the grip of his trusty Aipom's tail.

(He just hopes his relentless pursuer didn't see him do it.)

Ree’s feet dangle as they watch the sun set over the cliff side. Lupin is settled next to them. Their Aipom is on their head, and she’s breathing softly, eyes closed.

It’s been fun. It’s always fun when Lupin comes to town. Ree swallowed and doesn’t look over to their friend.

He's trying for levity. He doesn't quite manage to hit it, the attempted joke falling flat instead.

Ree might not be looking over to him, but Lupin is staring directly at them, his dark eyes roaming every scar they've accumulated. He's been in enough close calls of his own to be able to recognise the new wounds from the old, each mark on their skin another notch on the mental timeline he's building.

Unlucky, they say? No... That's not it. It's just people being bastards, picking on a young target because they're too shit-scared to bark at the big dogs.

Does your muse like to be pinned down, or to pin their partner? / meme.

I believe I've mentioned this before, but just in case: Restraint is a massive Lupin kink. It's just one that's particularly hard to satisfy, because he can slip free of pretty much any traditional bondage. Ropes, chains, handcuffs, satin ribbons and belts cinched tight... Nothing can hold him. And he knows that, which takes away the point of the fantasy.

But human hands? Someone able to actually react to his struggles and adjust their grip accordingly to make sure he can't get away? That's hot!

That's exactly the kind of thing that feeds directly into his fantasies, as well as often having the bonus of forcing the two to remain in close proximity. He loves being pinned, and (in situations where he is playing the role of a brat) often makes it his mission to goad his partner into doing it.

On the flip side: He's not against being the one doing the pinning, but realistically it won't be long before those hands are wandering towards more interesting places. He can get a little impatient.
