i recently noticed that introductions and such are a normal thing to do? And either you put them in your description or as a post, and I change my description a lot soo here we are for anyone interested. I’ll keep this post up for a few days to see what happens, but if I start to get uncomfortable I might delete it.

Hi! I’m ExpiredKitty! I post about tsc and- not really other things? I mean I have other interests but I mainly post about tsc and the wicked powers

I started doing tumblr mainly because I knew literally nobody irl who knew this series and I was hyperfixating so hard that I was driven to desperation and was like “screw it” because I needed a place to share my thoughts with people who know what I’m talking about. I actually downloaded tumblr because of tsc- I never would’ve gotten it before that! Though I’m not quite sure what will happen with this account once tsc ends

I think this is pretty obvious, but my favourite character is Kit Herondale! Some other favourites I do have though is Raphael Santiago, Alastair Carstairs and Magnus Bane. My favourite ship is really obviously Kit and Ty (it’s my pfp after all). I love ranting abt any of these topics so if you’re down to discuss, I’m down- just hit me up or tag me or whatever and I’ll be happy to add my opinion on whatever or just discuss or debate things!!

A bit about myself, my pronouns are she/her, I’m a minor, I live in Australia though I do have another ethnicity.I love reading, MBTI (yes I have all the MBTI’s of the TSC characters listed),and playing the sport I’m currently doing! I don’t really share much about myself or talk about myself much since I value my privacy on the internet

Breaking the fannon image of TY!!

1. Ty, despite preferring logic, is actually influenced a lot by his emotions. He’s not a robot and when he’s under a lot of stress his emotions tend to overwhelm him.

2. Ty can actually be very petty and competitive in a funny way. When dru accused him of hiding from their aunt he said ‘strategic retreat’ and he canonically gets into fights and pulls Dru’s hair when they play board games 😭

3. Ty is quite attached to those he cares about. I saw someone say once that Ty was a bit looser in his attachment to his family but I’d argue Ty is MORE attached. When people he care about are away from him he doesn’t verbally say it but he almost shuts down a bit

4. Ty does have an issue with black and white thinking and this can make him impulsive in some points. He mainly prefers to think things through but sometimes this black and white thinking can cause him to limit his perspective

I applaud your effort into making this it must’ve taken so long- there were characters listed who I could’ve sworn I’d never heard the name 😭🫶

Anyway here are my top 10 characters!

breaking the fanon image of ash BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT! (Might do one for Dru, Ty and Kit idk)

1. Ash knows what a car is and probably has some familiarity with modern devices- maybe even more than characters like Dru and Ty who were raised in the Shadowhunter world. In Thule they solely relied on guns (so it’s likely he has some vague knowledge at least about the mechanics), and apparently Jace would find video games for Ash to play when Ash got bored (so he knows how to use technology). Sure in tlkof it’s been roughly 2-3 years in Faerie, but he wouldn’t suddenly have a lobotomy and forget everything 😭

2. Ash is not a psychopath or a kidnapper or anything. Due to repeated exposure he’s more desensitised to certain things yes, but he doesn’t actively plan anything malicious. Anytime he’s done something remotely bad it was due to the adults around him influencing him to do so

3. Ash is honestly kind of impulsive in his own strange way. We see it when Julian and Emma come to find him and he immediately calls for the riders, or when he just decides to save Dru on a whim and give her a fey item or whatever. Like Ash kinda just wings it a lot of the time (get the pun? Wing it? I’m so funny hahahahahHhHaha) and does what idk spiritually connects to him in the moment?

4. Ash is actually quite thoughtful and selfless when you look into his character. He was willing to sacrifice his way back to his own dimension for Janus, brought a piano for Janus in hopes he would like it, and even when Janus wanted to leave him Ash never objected, respecting his wishes. And when Dru kept stumbling into Faerie his first instinct was to protect her from anybody who would harm her. It’s clear Ash struggles with verbal confirmation of love but his actions speak louder.

5. Ash does a small pompous obnoxious side (probably). I doubt it’s huge but I can imagine he has a bit of an ego that needs to be toned down (Dru and Kit will handle that). But it’s not like crazy big

6. I don’t know why I even added this but Ash is the type of person where if you were in school with him and he finished his homework and you asked to copy he would like at you like you were stupid and just walk away without saying anything 😭

(Unless your in his inner circle then he will still side eye you but let you copy)

I wonder if kit almost associated his friendship to ty with how useful he was to ty? We know that kit has issues where if he does not have a use or cannot change himself to fit into what others want, he does not believe himself worthy of love (we can thank Johnny Rook for that).

Kit first believes Ty seeks him out so that Ty has somebody who can assist him to solve mysteries (‘you want some kind of Watson to your Sherlock Holmes?’) and believes Ty sought him out solely on the fact he gives useful insight of the criminal world. When Livvy dies, Ty become distant before once again seeking kit out because he needs kits help (which to someone like can be perceived as him being ONLY sought out when useful). Kit reflects how if he refuses, he knows he will lose Ty (if he refuses to offer usefulness, he will be cast aside, though it’s never confirmed nor denied whether Ty would’ve done this). So at Lake Lyn, when Ty ignores his pleading and confession, this subconscious mindset is only strengthened, as it seems the moment Kit refuses what Ty wants from him, he is rejected (of course this is not what Ty intended at all, but in Kit’s mind, it could be perceived like this), which is why Kit believes Ty never cared about him, and only cares about what Kit can give him.

And in tlkof, when Ty seeks out Kit, it will be because Kit is the only one Ty can reach out to in whatever situation he is investigating/involved in, indirectly strengthening his belief that Ty only cares for his usefulness, and for Ty to acknowledge him he must be useful.

Does anyone remember that scene in TMI (City of Lost Souls, specifically) when Clary walks in on Sebastian and Jace being casual is the kitchen with eachother, talking and joking like best friends? What if we get a scene in twp where Clary walks into the LA/NY institute kitchen and she sees Ash and Kit joking and teasing eachother and she just freezes, getting flashbacks of Sebastian and Jace
