Still Rosa stood, feet planted still in that defensive stance, but it was almost like she wasn’t there… she was breathing yes, said breaths coming out like a icey fog from where her mouth generally was, but in a state of… some kind of trance… the ice kept growing on her body especially over the wounds she had gained. Her blood quite literally freezing before his eyes, the ice seemed to act on its own as it focused on her wounds, clotting the wound to stop the bleeding. It was kinda mesmerizing in that sort of way when you’re watching something disturbing but beautiful in its own way.

Her skin was turning blue, however, the ice covering her skin so much that he could barely make out her eyes anymore. He imagined if he went over and touched her she would be solid. If he pushed.. maybe she’d shatter like ice on the rocks. He gets a sudden vision of her in bits, no blood spatter, just crumbled on the ground in bloody chunks of ice. He couldn’t see her visibly breathing anymore, but her eyes glowed… that frozen blue light, she was alive… somehow. Like a bug in a chrysalis of ice. She made no move as he healed himself, like a statue she stared at where he was, even if he moved out of the way.

The ice on the ground had stopped moving, apparently deciding whatever it was doing to her was more important than him. The ice continued to grow, layering on her skin like it was trying to smother her, or it least it looked like it, it was at least an inch thick over her skin now. It was slowly getting to the point where he couldn’t see her body.

The movement of ice against her flesh had been… startling, if that had been the appropriate descriptor. Watching how it crystallized, the drow could only guess that it had been producing a protective coat, evident by the way it shifted along her wounds.

Foolish, is what it was. 

He paid little mind to it, the intrusion of projected images making him exhale in annoyance. He already heard the voice of some being commanding him to kill. He didn’t need whatever her deal was on top of it. It only added to the vibration of aggravation that buzzed along his skin, a quiet hiss pouring from scarred lips at a particularly irritated wound he had grazed the wrong way. 

If this was bound to happen every time that they stumbled upon a situation that required her to extend her magic, then she would be more of a liability than someone of value. How did he end up in these positions exactly? Questions to ponder over more… quiet circumstances. As he finished wrapping his wounds, he glanced over at the human, unsure of what the expected move here was. Start a fire to melt the ice? Leave her to whatever… this was?

The most glaring issue was the risk of hyperthermia, once it had reached that state preserving warmth would be a priority. He didn’t want to deal with any of it, yet he kept a careful eye much to his own budding resentment.

Feeeeel like he’d be surprisingly knowledgeable about teas, like what does what how to get the perfect brew. I also think if you don’t drink it the “right way” he’d take the tea from you

To an extent this is actually surprisingly accurate! Nym-yraen's knowledge on tea's stems from the fact that some of the poison's that his mother would brew came from poisonous herbs, so knowing how to brew them and how they interacted with the drink was something majorly important.

He may not actively take it off you for drinking it wrong but he is either silently judging, or calling you an idiot (taste preferences aside, it would more so be if you prepare it wrong). He hates he knows this much about it.

I'm not sure if he's much of a tea drinker himself it's to be decided but he's probably at the point where questioning these things frustrate him and give him even more of a headache trying to work it out.

“Well, if you understand the goal, then you’d be smart to comply. It’s fairly simple, all things considered. And if you claim to be fluent in this form of game with one another, then I think it’s safe to assume you’re itching for the inevitable.” 

A roundabout way of saying that he would be getting nowhere with his current method of bartering, if he was reading the situation correctly. Infuriating, is what it was. Even more so as his blade threatened itself against the sooty complexion, tainted with scars and markings beyond his own comprehension; the sanguine delicacy that oozed itself from his infliction had contrasted so elegantly against the tone of the drow’s flesh. If it were any other circumstance, he would have stuck around to admire it longer– lest his hunger meddle a way into his inspection. 

Which, it normally took precedent. 

Each word that slithered itself from Nym-yraen’s mouth wrapped around the boiling anger that clawed along the column of his throat, threatening to spill with a toxic bite of his own rebuke. The speed at which his own defiled, vile lambasting tossed itself within his mind had been faster than any of his past agonies had tumbled themselves; he was certain that wasn’t entirely true, but at the moment, all he could feel was the immediate swelter of plain rage.

Though, if a game was a game, he would at least attempt to play it logically if there was no prompt outcome within his favor.

The narrowed penetration of his crimson fervor had pinned itself to his target, inspecting, searching for any clues within the contrasting tones of the drow’s eyes. Resolute in his pierce, the elf forced a silence between them that had ultimately been brief; a mild respite of swift introspection before action.

Between them had already existed little space– the press of his form had been more tactical than consuming, though he’d shifted himself forward now. A hasty press onward, colliding himself with the height of the drow as the blade slotted with little care against the column of Nym-yraen's throat as they toppled. Both legs came to straddle around either side where he could, even with struggle. It wasn’t meant to be pretty. “Are you implying that there are other ways to pry it from you? I’m open to suggestions, though I have to admit that my patience has been pressed just a little too thin thus far.”

“It’s so adorable, watching that clever mind tick away at conclusions. You’re so close, yet so far off the mark.” Nym-yrean had mused. He knew how this could easily end — blood spilled against soft grass, his tainted life essence staining both the blade of the dagger and the lush green under his boots.

There had been no plan — no forethought towards a direction. The drow’s mind often worked in calculated motions, approaching every scenario with the same precision as a swipe of his blade. The waters that he tested were ones that he knew the varying outcomes off, invoking rage in the vampire may not have been his smartest choice. But it didn’t mute the flicker of amusement, the twisted sense of excitement at being dangled over an edge.

Death was such a beautifully ghastly subject, one that he knew better than to indulge in the ways that the sickening urge cried for. Walking the line of his own mortality left him unfazed, further challenging the elf. Though an inkling of surprise had etched itself on steeled features as he had been dragged down, the stutter of his heart pounding against his chest only featuring until he had slowly inhaled and exhaled, a quiet laugh pushing past his lips as he kept his eyes on the rogue.

He had to give it to him — of all the things he had been expecting, this wasn’t on the list. Though it just meant that there had been an escalation within the game they entangled themselves in.

The drow wasn’t too fond of their current position — the elements of touch as Astarion had crawled atop of him once he had been forced down. The only thing that had stopped any brash movements was the fact now he had to be more strategic, violently aware of the cool metal that made its home against his own flesh. “There’s plenty of ways to get what you want. Threats though? Well. It would have worked if you were dealing with someone who would fear the current predicament.” He hummed, followed by a careful shake of his head.

“You can ask nicely, please included. Or you can tell me why you’ve got such a vested interest in it. I mean this is.. certainly a choice over some words on a page. I know why I stole it. And you can try lying, but it won’t get you far.” He’d burn the book before letting the elf get his paws on it if that had been the taken approach.

Spite had been a language that Nym-yraen was very familiar with. He still hadn’t had the chance to digest the information inked on parchment, but… well. He didn’t care.
