parents,

don’t pre-mourn the trauma you’ve inflicted on your kids, especially if they think they’re still OK while growing up. you’re not helping us by telling us that you did us wrong, you’re just indulging in self pity and placing the burden of sympathy on us.

by the time we're finally in a place in our lives where we can understand how the things we went though effected us, you’ve already proven yourself to be untrustworthy. 

we can no longer hope for your help while we go through the process of recovering, because you’ve already proven that you’ll make the traumatic experiences we had all about yourself instead.

Anyways; fruit cats!! Been looking at a lot of pop surrealist/lowbrow artists lately and its been quiet refreshing

Me: I am literally sitting at home doing nothing. My only obligation this evening is to take out the trash. Work went well today. What exactly is the problem????

Anxiety: EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING ALL AT ONCE

Me: But nothing is happening?

Anxiety: TOO MUCH

I will, until I am blue in the face, defend any adult’s right to enjoy whatever silly, all-ages thing they like without being hassled for it.

But there’s a flip side to that right: As adult fans it is absolutely our responsibility to make sure our enjoyment of that thing does not interfere with a minor’s ability to enjoy the same thing in a safe space.

That means putting warnings on fics that have adult themes, that means not posting porn in the main tags, and it absolutely positively means not having any inappropriate interactions with minors you meet on this website, even if it’s their idea.

This is the basic price of admission every adult has to pay for entry into an all-ages fandom.
