Explorer Zang

Explorer Zang focuses on the famous Zig-Zang Fangs (a team of explorers centered in rural Commerce Town). Years after the disappearance of the Blue Rescue Team, life has calmed and the pillaging of mystery dungeons has reached its peak. With the Zig-Zang Fangs as one of the top explorer's guilds, its members should lead a happy, prosperous life. Unfortunately, something dark beckons them from Mt. Steel, and soon their tragic fates shall be seealed with those of the pokemon world.

Chapter 3, page 19 [basic lines]

Still working on Chapter 3.5! Work has been paused for schooling and a heavy commissions load, but you should expect more content shortly.

Updates

The second half of Chapter 3 is in its final drafting (right before I dump color on it). It’s a total of 30 pages (making Chapter 3 ~48 pages in total). The end of the chapter marks the half-way point for “Shadow’s Journey” is sure to raise more questions than answers.

New Chapter Update

Chapter 3.5 (”vs. Flygon”) is well underway. My masters thesis is cutting into my drawing time, but summer break is almost ready to add much more time back to my schedule. 

In the mean time, click on over to Deviantart to check out related art and reposted chapters. Tapastic’s been my go-to platform for posting chapters, but I always meant for the art to be taken in one page at a time (rather than scrolled through). You can also pick up .pdfs of the chapter from my Patreon page for a nominal fee.

Progress is a bit slower this time around due to me being a TA during finals. The chapter’s well underway though!

Status Update:

Sketches are done for the next chapter! Though, I’ll be splitting the full story into 2 parts. The break corresponds with a break in the written version, but it’s also a matter of length. After getting half-way through, I found myself landing on Page 17 (before transition pages and extras). There’s a ton of story and action in the second half, but I’d hate cut pages from what I already have, and the rest of the story’s going to be at least 20 more pages...

Anyway, keep checking back for more updates. I’ll have the first round of chapter illustrations and story previews posted soon!

Chapter 2′s almost done! All of the clean, vector line art’s been rendered and the page layouts are finalized. What’s left is a few more button clicks for color and some artsy shading.
