To me Catholicism has never been about blind faith. God gave us free will so that we can experience all that life has to offer - good or bad. In my lowest moments I often asked God, “Why me?!!!!” This answer to this question alluded me for so long that I rejected God and Jesus’ teachings and rarely prayed for maybe a decade or so. When I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, I was so confused because no one in my family had had it. I sometimes was in so much pain during COVID that I could barely move. Then, I started leaning back on the lessons I learned from Catholicism, most importantly that God is Love. So as long as we always act out of LOVE, we are following God’s teachings.
