Summary: An accidental glimpse of Byzanti's training regimen with the new Praetorian guard contingent causes Yvgeny to start questioning whether or not intimacy of a particular sort is just another facet through which Chaos Marines reject the expectations foisted upon them by the Imperium of Man. This would be fine, if his curiosity didn't lead to him actually fucking asking about it.

Xestephi had probably the best relationship with her father, Xesvotekh, out of all her siblings, which kinda sucked when she had to off him and take over after he got scrombled by the big nap. she kept his head, which is normal and fine. don't make it weird. it stays tucked away in her personal storage and she only hauls it out when she needs to stare at it and dissociate for a few decades remind herself why she needs to Fix Everything.
Tyrtrakh presumably has no opinion on this, because a sword does not weigh in on the matters of the hand wielding it. it just cuts.

Thanakar dynasty Phaerakh Xestephi (shess-tefi, she/her) and her extremely cool vargard Tyrtrakh (teer-trakh, she/it)
their relationship has always been overly familiar but post-BT it skewed wildly inappropriate in the sense that Tyr has been granted a ridiculous amount of direct access to Tephi's internal systems/mind. anyone else could probably use this to straight-up mindshackle and puppet her, but they mostly use it as an Affirmation Hotline. Tephi relies on Tyr to pull her out of dysphorakh spirals and remind her that her heka is exactly as powerful as she wills it to be #manifesting #girlboss #thesecret
Tephi was the family baby of 5+ siblings with a distinct lack of bloodlust ambition, assumed by her siblings to be an easy target. Tyr was the noble daughter of a successful family of military commanders, but more interested in becoming a living weapon than assuming command. Both their fathers independently went 'hold on this might be a good arrangement for my beloved child who sucks at what they should be doing' and set Tyr up as Tephi's vargard when Tephi hit the age of majority and became a viable target to her siblings. A few million years later they are still going strong, minus the part where their dynasty kinda imploded on itself.
Tephi hated BT because it immediately escalated her to 'actual threat' and her siblings stepped up their murder game and rendered her previous interests (necrontyr noble geneology and several thousand years worth of memorized honor duels) even more useless. Tyr loved it because it was already attempting to be a weapon made manifest and BT made the metaphorical literal.
