Being abroad for the past three years has caused Ezra to come back to the States entirely confused and baffled by all of the things he’d missed. Like memes? What the hell are those? He was barely able to keep up with Vine, and even then... God, how long has Vine been down? For the new year, Ezra is trying to step out of his comfort zone. He doesn’t need to be the cool kid, but he wants to at least seem like he understands. What does that even mean? It means Ezra is trying new fashions. He’s branching out to new locations and new types of activities. Most importantly, he’s trying to be more forthright. Ezra Donahue has always had a difficult time saying what he wants. Selfish acts were never his forte; it was always giving back. Now, back home and pining after the woman he confessed his feelings to before leaving overseas has him craving more. He wants her. Most importantly, he wants to be certain that she knows it. For Ezra, it doesn’t matter if Elayne reciprocates those feelings that he’s harbored for her for nearly six years now. It’s the what if that gets to him. What if I spoke up? What if she still felt the same? For once in his life, Ezra is trying to be a bit more selfish.
Sunday Stand Up 1/19/20
Growing up, Ezra was told to keep quiet about things that weren’t in his parents’ interest. Coping with his silence was always a struggle and as the opinionated child turned into an obstinate young man, Ezra flocked to pursue his own passions. What he cared about were the people and what started off as light charity work at food drives or soup kitchens eventually turned him to Habitat for Humanity. Upon graduating college, Ezra founded his own nonprofit organization in support of building better communities for the people. Extend Nest started off as a building project; fixing up homes, rebuilding, and ultimately building from the ground up. Extend Nest’s first main project was their official community which is what donned the Ezra Donahue Foundation with its new brand name: Extend Nest. The organization officially began on the outskirts of town on a 16-acre lot. Private homes were built and established and Ezra became the landlord of a low-income housing community. Because of Extend Nest, many formerly homeless people have been able to get back into the working class of society. Single parents have been able to afford rent and keep their children safe and educated. All they needed was a little help and a community that believed in and supported them.
