hello! please don't look at the spiral below just yet. i am working on something. i've recorded two short rough music tracks, and i'm curious what you think of playing them while looking into the spiral.
you certainly don't have to play them all the way -- if you could just test for a moment which you like more, or how each feels, and tell me, that would be perfect. you could click around on the player thing to hear different parts of each track, or you could click back and forth between the tracks to compare them closely -- whatever you like.
the tracks are a little rough with an odd note here and there. all i really want to know for now is what you think of the idea as an idea.
the audio just below this text (though above the spiral) is just over five minutes slowly and sort of meditatively playing on a g chord.
the one below the spiral, above this text, is faster, an e minor chord, playing mostly the deeper strings.
so -- what did you think?
oooo, you're all hypnotized & you feel like telling me at extreme length what you thought of this.
it's almost like you can't stop typing til you're exhausted -- if you start.
ok -- you can click reblog or reply now...and start!!
It's hard to describe precisely because I'm not a musical expert. But the upper melody seems decidedly soothing, with the sensation of getting louder and louder, although it doesn't actually change. And for me personally it gives easier defocusing, probably because it is very easy to hear the cyclical nature of the melody
The lower melody is associated with some kind of tension, like a constant expectation of something, although in the end it echoes less loudly on the ears, a strong contradiction. In the end, I like both melodies, and they rather depend on my mood, which can change very easily, and listening to music can quite influence this. Phew
