I'm a new F1 fan who hopped in the fandom after Monaco 2024

I've never been a sports fan before and I don't really understand why I should hate any competitor of my faves haha

So idk I really like everyone and reblog everyone and also my heading and pfp are just kinda random

I also block people who hate on certain drivers but that's not personal, I just wanna control my TL

Anyway my current faves are Max, Oscar, Lando, Kimi A., Valtteri, Daniel, Seb, CharlesCarlosIsackLewisTheOtherKimi idk I just love everyone fucking sue me

IRL I'm a 30yo social scientist specializing in peace research and yeah I have opinions on some of the FIA choices in the countries we are racing in but I'll mostly keep them to myself

my proposal to make monaco more interesting is we write down several dozen different proposals to make monaco more interesting and write them down in a randomised order and seal the list away to be accessed only by the most senior fia officials and every year we do a different one kind of like the quarter quells in the hunger games but ☝️ the actual teams and drivers only find out what the twist is on saturday afternoon after qualifying so they can't try to game the system by e.g. prepping their cars with a wet weather setup to deal with george russell's trackside sprinkler system

some of my suggestions:

last minute announcement that the drivers will instead be driving f3/f2/formula e cars (ie. something that can actually overtake around monaco)

as above but the drivers all have to pick one of their road cars and drive that instead. the handful of drivers who don't live in monaco have to either beg the rest of the grid to share one of their spare vehicles OR run to the nearest car hire place asap

keep the two mandatory pit stops but the driver has to get out of the car and change all four tyres by himself. the mechanics are allowed to help by getting cars up on jacks, but other than that are only allowed to provide verbal support and advice

literally just george russell's sprinkler idea

one (1) randomly selected driver is told immediately before the race that he is allowed to cut the nouvelle chicane whenever he wants and not get penalised. whether or not the other drivers notice & figure out they're allowed to follow suit is down to their observational skills and those of their team

an extra 10 championship points are on offer for the driver who completes the most on track passes (overtaking lapped cars counts to make it fair for drivers who qualified high BUT it's indycar rules where the lapped drivers are allowed to defend)

the traitors rules where three (3) randomly selected drivers are informed their job is to safely ruin everybody else's race. if all three traitors make it to the podium they receive double points. if all 3 traitors DNF or get DSQ'd then every faithful in the top 10 receives double points. if a faithful incorrectly takes out or snitches on team radio about another faithful they receive a one race ban

finishing order point/position relationships are randomised. now everyone is fighting for specifically P7

we should have fuck ass random rules for more races. you have to parallel park into the pit box in baku. if you don’t overtake anyone in interlagos you’re disqualified for being shit. odd numbered finishers get half points in abu dhabi so everyone is trying to overtake all the time. these are so bad but so was monaco. i could go on
