Admittedly, I am not familiar with the fandom / character [ like,, at all /sob ] but (!!) I’ve seen your Mephisto around & I just have to say — the presentation alone is stunning. Your graphics are cohesive, & immediately set a tone before a single word is read; & then the prose ... delish, I'll take two more! There’s a confidence to the way you write him that feels effortless, like you fully understand his cadence & presence. Even from the outside, it’s clear there’s care behind every detail; we haven’t interacted yet, but I’m genuinely looking forward to it — your portrayal makes me want to step into the space [ & beyond Hazbin / Helluva ] & see how it plays out!!!

i see all your heart, your passion for your muse and writing, and i'm totally inspired! everything you've built and all that you come through with has been not only in character but super interesting. I admire how expanded he feels compared to his in-canon counterpart and i've completely fallen for this muse from absorbing all of that passion! and you! you're an incredible person! it  had  me  thinking  ...  mephisto  appeared  incredibly  hypocritial  toward  rin  in  the  early  chapters / episodes  of  the  series.     he:    told  rin  that  they  can't  allow  the  son  of  satan  running  around  assiah   &   therefore  he  needs  to  be  put  down     ( he  says  this  as  a  demon  &  son  of  satan  running  around  assiah  himself ),    &  then  laughed  at  rin  wanting  to  become  an  exorcist  to  avenge  father  fujimoto  after  satan  killed  him    (  mephisto  has  been  working  with  the  vatican  for  like  200  years  at  this  point  &  was  part  of  the  reason  humans  got  the complete  knowledge  to  fight  demons.  )

hypocrtie,    right?   well,   let's  peel back  the  layers  because  nothing  is  ever  simple  with  mephisto.    mephisto  is  the  king  of  theatre.   

he  had  to  say  that  all  to  rin.    if  mephisto  immediately  protected  rin  then  the  grigori  would  have  suspected  bias.    mephisto  positions  himself  as  cold,   pragmatic   &   rational.    " we can't have satan's son roaming free. "     that's  the  politically  correct  stance.     it  allows  him  to  keep  in  control  of  the  narrative.       but then he flips it!    --    he  proposes  the  exorcist  trial  instead   because,    what  he  really  wants  is  entertainment.    possibility.    unpredictability.      but  he  laughs  at  rin.     yes.    when  rin  says  he  will  become  an  exorcist,    mephisto  laughs.    not  because  it's  entirely  impossible,     but  because  it's  deliciously  ironic.     a  demon  declaring  war  on  demons.    satan's  own  son  rebelling  against  him.     it's  not  hypocrisy  to  mephisto,  it's  drama!   

the  key  different  between  mephisto  &  rin:    mephisto  never  denies  what  he  is.   never  denies  he's  a  demon,    that  he's  the  son  of  satan.    he  plays  with  it.    he  enjoys  it.    he  never  struggles  with  his  identity.    rin  does.    rin  holds  his  part  humanity  in  his  emotions.     he's  emotionally  raw  in  grieving,   anger,   pain  ...  &  mephisto  finds  human  conviction  extremely  amusing.    does  it  feel  cruel?   of  course.   rin  just  lost  his  father  figure  &  also  found  out  he's  only  half  human  &  everyone  around  him  hid  that  from  him.     mephisto  showed  zero  softness  in  that  moment.    he  never  comforted  rin,    didn't  validate  his  grief.   he  more  poked  the  wound  to  see  what  might  happen.    he's  a  total  bastard  but  a  calculated  one.    he  knew  rin  would  want  to  become  an  exorcist  &  that  concept  in  of  itself  is  going  to  shake  the  very  foundations  of  things.    satan's   half  demon  son  declaring  war  on  him ?   becoming  an  exorcist ?   oh,    the  theatrics  &  fun  will  thrive! challnging the system? mephisto is here for it. remember, mephisto plays the long game. he knew what would come of the twins' birth. he knew the chaos it would cause.
