Omggg middle of the night posting??? Yeah that’s not a shocker anyway I decided to make reference sheets for my Transformers HTTYD AU to put onto Artfight since it’s allowed!!
So here’s Ratchet!! Ngl I’m actually really happy with this since I’m not the best with like organizing the reference sheets but this is the format I’m sticking with from now on
No one was getting my vision so i'm doing it myself
SG Ratchet for me isn't just some maniac that for the love of sadism tears people down, for what i've gathered, he's not really a bad guy and even can sympathize with decepticons, however the moment you get on his workstation, that's it, almost completely disconnected of their patients as people and manipulating them simply as projects
There isn't much about Drift but I like to lean a lot in how he's pretty much like Deadpool, so I even decided to give him the same healing abilities. The circle of wrath (light) kidnapped him and modified his frame as they pleased, exploiting his abilities and making him a living weapon. Drift tries to cope by acting as the insane killer everyone thinks he has become but he's actually seething with rage and deep humiliation, constantly tearing apart his own frame in disgust even after being drastically changed the way he asked to feel like he holds some control over the whole situation
They have a delicate balance, Ratchet uses Drift to excitedly test pretty much everything he can think of since he can endure it and Drift lets Ratchet do whatever he pleases with his frame because he trusts that any changes that might be done, they will be beneficial. It's freeing to let someone take the lead and, if anything happens, the doctor will always be there to pull him back together, even if that means shoving 3 different weapons in a new limb because it's possible
Both are madly obsessed with the other, Ratchet will do anything to keep others away from exploiting Drift (he's the only one allowed to do that, that's HIS valuable experim- friend.) and Drift will go hunting whoever threatens Ratchet ("he's the best medic around" <- definitely not possessive at all, definitely not offlining everyone in the vicinity with the upgrades HIS. Ratchet did)
