Hey, I’m not very active here aymore and I don’t have a lot of followers but I’d just like to make it clear: 

I do not support Scott Cawthon. 

I will not be supporting FNaF financially anymore, and I will block anybody who has defended his actions. 

I’m going to keep this blog up since frumbos is a huge comfort media of mine, fnaf is now being handled by Steel Wool, a majority of the fanbase is lgbtq+/is actively redesigning characters to be more inclusive, and it’s SUCH a fandriven community where a majority of the good content is very divorced from the source material/has to actually build upon and actively fix issues with the source. 

However, I just wanted to make it clear I do not side with Scott Cawthon, I do not support Scott Cawthon, and while I don’t think its surprising he turned out to be this way I (like many other people) wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt especially with how he seemingly has been in support of the lgbtq community in the past. 

I don’t care how much “good” he’s done, and if the good has outweighed the bad. I will not Thank Scott Cawthon for all he’s done. Good people don’t donate to fascists. That is all.

I am of the strong belief William has absolutely no reason to actually stab anyone. He doesn't have a tragic backstory, beyond whatever normal stuff a british white man would deal with. He just woke up one day and was like "lmao what if I stabbed someone" and then he did and didn't regret it and was like "aight Imma do this again"

Man, initially I was super pumped for Security Breach but the more information we get about it the more worried I get. First the funko leaks but like... That wasn’t Scotts fault, but it did kind of ruin the experience by spoiling the designs. But like... For the game itself I’m worried. (Spoilers ahead). 

The Vanny and Vanessa thing is very troubling. Either A. Scott is using the same name twice in the same game for two key characters?? Like... We already have 3 Jeremys and 4 (if you count Michael Schmidt and Afton as 2 different people) Michaels. That’s confusing as is. WHY would you use basically the same exact name for 2 different characters. The more likely option B. Is that they’re the same character. However not only does this feel like a massive spoiler but we’ve also already gotten a physical description in AR and this contradicts it. Why give us physical descriptions that is kind of a nod to fans but then throw it away? Not to mention Vanny’s design change. Not only does it look worse but the white suit makes no sense. What’s she gonna do if she gets blood on it hfjdkslhjk

Then we get to Glamrock Freddy and Gregory. I feel like the only one that feels like the premise of GR Freddy is... Really dumb? Steel Wool managed to make fnaf actually frightening again with VR, so I was kind of hopeful that the new installment would help make the animatronics actually scary again. This feels like,, the opposite of that. It’s been kind of a problem witht the recent games that the animatronics don’t feel scary as is, and not to make assumptions but I’m really getting the impression that it’s to pander to kids like the games. However, this obviously wasn’t the intention of the older games which makes the new games feel incredibly silly in comparison. Instead of actually making them scary again they’re taking it a step further and actually making the animatronics (or at least Glamrock Freddy) your friend. Hell, Vanny sounds and speaks more robotically than GR Freddy does (and again revealing that that IS GR Freddy also feels like a massive spoiler on Funko and Scott’s part??). I feel like I’m the minority here in thinking that this is a very very silly concept, but I know at least some people are still invested in the horror aspect of the games- what they’re supposed to be- and this feels like a kick in the face. 

Also this is a really minor thing and I’m sure it’s just a coincidence and I’m not accusing Scott or SteelWool of any foul play but... GR Freddy’s design REALLY reminds me of a certain popular fan design that was going around a while back which just rubs me the wrong way. From what I’ve seen they haven’t mentioned anything about it and they’re still very invested in the fanbase so I’m sure they think it’s just a coincidence too but I just... Don’t know. It feels weird to me. 

Anyways rant over. I’m not going to judge how good the game is until it actually comes out, but I’m just. Worried. I hope it ends up being better than it’s making itself look rn. The teaser trailer still looks sick as hell, I love the look of the game, I’m glad it’s getting a soft reset in terms of story. I just hope the pros outway the cons and they explain some of the issues listed :<
