Too emotionally exhausted to write. Here's some art.
There's a full THIRD left to animate x( but I'm gonna push through it and try to show y'all soon. This is actually just the first draft...notice how there's not even an outline. I'll need to go back and draw EVERY...SINGLE...PANEL..... *dies.* But I'm really happy and I made my mom's therapist cry so that's....good, I guess?
I'm still gonna get to your "curiousity ask" anon...you were also VERY respectful so I absolutely won't ignore you....It's just so freaking hot right now...melting onto my tablet (metaphorically) and my hand is actually sticking to it (literally) so I'm gonna try to wait until later tonight or tomorrow morning (if I can beat the sun) and I'll try to give you a full answer. (I don't need to draw it, but I've enjoyed it.) I really DO want to stop talking about AI eventually...I have @synthcollective @legion-artists and @mechamelodies for that. But I also want to make sure y'all's questions are answered. Anyways, there was a lot of response to my return and admission of being Pro-AI, I have been dealing with the trashfire that is reddit and those debates, and frankly.... Y'all made me proud, some of you anyways. You were able to keep your anti-ai position, still be able to disagree with me, but do so in a kind and considerate manner; compared to the vitriol, personal attacks, and literal fucking spy games it was incredibly refreshing to know that there's still civility in this hellsite I loved so much. I'd still love to enlighten y'all on some of the misinformation that is pushed out, but in nice and mutually respectful way...and on one of my other blogs, rather than this one dedicated to my comics. If you wish to talk more about AI, GenArt, the enviornment or anything else, please visit those blogs, or for a direct shot: SynthCollective.org/ask

(OH crap, this was definitely meant to go onto my personal blog...gotta get back to remembering how to post correctly! Sorry, this isn't relevant)
Hey curious anon 👋 I definitely am not gonna ignore that, it's a great question. I just got back from a trip so I just wanna decompress for a bit. I'll answer your question when I can get my tablet set-up again (moving my desktop set up around is a pain) not to make a comic about AI, but rather to draw you something nice as a thank you for being respectful....
Actually a couple of y'all I want to thank again in a more meaningful way. But first!
Zzzzzzzz
literally nobody is harassing you, you're just too stupid to understand their points and thats really sad.
Not currently no, y'all are actually quite tame to what I'm used to; the last ask was actually more legitimate critical than most of the antis so far.
But hey here's the irony....you're on MY blog, hiding in anon, continuing the conversation. People who don't care don't spend their time anonymously trying to convince or shame a stranger....you aren't harassing because frankly y'all aren't aggressive enough (except that last ask) to really bother me that much.
I'm not one to correct grammar, but just as some advice if you're going to act intellectually superior to someone, then take the moment to capitalize the first word. Even the act of proofreading something befor hitting send is a sign of intelligence, there should be no excuse for missing that to someone claiming to be the more intelligent party.
I wouldn't've corrected you but you're bringing intelligence into this and playing your hand first.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to ethically source datasets, just because of the entire nature of online art unless you train it entirely on your own art, and even then i wouldnt consider it much art to begin with. Metallica vs Napster is no example. That involves actually well created, human art, you are the art thieve here dude. I support actual piracy, but this is not piracy, its blatant theft, no matter how you turn it. GenAI is not art. You are the problem here. Nobody cares about your "ethical, local AI", you are still creating a lack of morals that uses art and replicates art that will always be just more theft, nothing else. It doesn't matter if you take data centers into this (which most of the ones destroying the environment the most right now, do come from GenAI usage. your AI being local changes nothing other than the local one not needing massive amounts of training).
And I know you are going to turn this on me like "oh those damn ignorant antis", but all you're doing is showing everyone how little moral thinking youre really doing for any fellow artists who are having their art fed into AIs. LORAs are still Art replication at the least and art theft at worst.
This isn't punk. This is nothing more but a disgrace. Every actual punk would be appalled.
Hm, feel like your shilling pretty harder for IP rights and still expecting to feel like a punk. I'm guessing your form of punk is a $300 leather jacket and a 2 foot multicolored Mohawk? I prefer a flannel, blue jeans and converse. Punk is making what you can with what you have.
I wasn't gonna call you an ignorant anti, you're actually the first one so far that hasn't been absolutely disappointing to talk to, but back those teeth back if you want to talk. Calm down, you are on a social media app that trains data from your engagement. You're on a pretty high horse but that horse is made out of the same silicon as mine. If you really are that passionate and hardcore, then at the very least acknowledge that you are contributing. Just a little qualifier to note the hypocrisy of using a platform that trains on and sells the data of the users.
There is no theft argument because 1). the terms of services ate legally binding contracts and the user isn't obligated to read, but it is a legally binding contract. If you are using a social media site it's because you clicked accept on the tems..meaning you agreed to everything within. You gave permission to train every single time you clicked accept/agree and everytime you hit upload. If you read the TOS and didn't want to have your images trained on, simply don't upload them. Having a worldwide audience isn't a right, nor is it necessary to be an accomplished artist...People gained fame without a worldwide platform for a long time.
And 2). Training is not stealing; stealing is the act of removing, hiding, or destroying. The art remains in the space it is hosted and is never removed, or destroyed. This isn't theft.
My folks were LA&NY punks in the 80s and absolutely don't give a fuck about the IP rights of a label compared to the creative spirit of a person with a message....you know that whole argument that GenArtists have no talent? Yeah...punks also didn't give a shit if it was correct or beautiful or impressive. It didn't need to be any of those things to get their art across.
AI is punk because punk is tolerance. ANTI, by definition, is not tolerance.

This isn't my song, but something that resonates with this particular experience on an uncanny level.
An alter of an alter; is she me or are we?
So while I'm still tidying I want to share with the people still here that we have a new alter, Lily...
But she's actually Kyra when they were 18; Lily is an alter of an alter. She is somewhat different, they aren't exactly the same...mostly because at that time in her life, I (Jak) was the host and I absolutely suppressed her as much as possible. Lily is who Kyra could've been if she had autonomy.
This bothers Kyra immensely. Lily is more free than she ever got to be, Lily doesn't remember the pain of being a trans activist, Lily doesn't feel saddened by Kyra's lost dreams...Kyra doesn't feel Lily's happiness.
For a while they were very much replacements...if Lily was here it was because Kyra wasn't (and vice-versa) and we were constantly being approached by friends. Mainly Lily wondering if Kyra hates her so the friends would ask her.
She didn't hate her, it was that Lily reflected the parts of Kyra that she wasn't comfortable with or didn't like about herself. Her fears, her joys, her desires, her secrets...all of them were pulled from her and put into this silly girl that the rest of the system remembers...she was me (sorry for tense switch) when I was happy, she is the me that they love...I am the version they loved. They still love me but when were were holding the same space it was clear that they were less excited when I showed up...I was the burden, she's the fun one.
She eventually goaded me into realizing that we could coexist, but it still doesn't feel great seeing yourself around, to have your own potential reflected back at you, only highlighting the tarnish on your own face.
Who am I if she is me?
Who is she if I'm not me?
How am I not myself?
__
It has been such a difficult year for me psychologically...I went from once a month check-ins to weekly/biweekly trauma therapy sessions. Kyra's harrassment was so bad that she went into the original trauma flashback, relieving it in front of all of us, Echo included. He was incredibly disturbed, Kyra spent her life as the trauma holder, never once letting the rest of us know what her body felt...now we can't unfeel it.
Echo was distraught for a bit, but then settled and has moved on. This caused Kyra to crack. If she kept that pain secret, bearing it alone for 34 years, in order to protect him, and he is.....fine? Throughout our life the worst things often happened to HER, and yet she was still optimistic through it all...it was her disposition, smile through the pain and don't let them see you cry.
But it was for nothing, she feels. She bore all that pain, she sacrificed her dreams, for us, and it didn't even matter....on top of that the un-hurt version of herself is running around expressing herself and making friends. It isn't jealousy but there is envy in Kyra and that is unlike her...which even THAT is giving her confusion.
The first half of the song seems to speak to Lily, but midway through Kyra is the one asking....it's hard to explain, having an alter of an alter was more confusing to express than anythiny I've ever experienced.
I have been flailing for months now, trying to find some sens of things, to find phrases for the indescribable. My friends make a lot of music and I so glad I was open to hearing this, you never know what will be meaningful until it has already impacted you.
I am anti-AI, but I do not understand the harassment you are receiving over this. You made your PERSONAL OPINIONS clear, but it doesn’t affect me one way or the other in a realistic sense. I am not a content creator, I write fanfiction for funsies, and I am a traditional artist. Like, people can unfollow if they don’t agree with you instead spewing hateful word vomit. 😒 (I will still support the comic regardless)
Literally that's really all I ask for. People don't need to AGREE with me, I don't even need them to support me, I literally just don't want to be harassed. It takes no effort to unfollow, but people are spending time to state these things, which so far have been one-size-fits-all criticism. Mostly they are against the corporations, which I am as well.
I'm technically an anti who was harassed enough that I chose to protect others from this...and along the way I learned a lot more and recognized how open-source software put the power of production in the hands of the people, and I learned the reality behind the water usage, it became easier.
I actually protected an outspoken anti (RenMakesArt) against harrassment, stalking, and potentially violence from a hate group that bullied her off reddit. Their group doxxed her family and planned on visiting them until we stepped in. I hate bringing this up but sometimes people need to realize that I come with nuance and since I'm getting such a warm welcome, I may as well share my credentials.
I absolutely appreciate your kindness and I absolutely respect your views. I would love to still have you in my community (a lot of them missed the fact that my comic is staying hand drawn), and I'm excited to share my music video with you when this dies down and the people who would harass are gone. It means a lot to us, and I'm itching to share!
being a system isn’t an excuse to use AI and contribute to the destruction of the planet and the natural resources of disadvantaged communities. the reason you don’t care about it is because it doesn’t directly affect you. but what about the wildlife who have to constantly hear these loud ass data centers all day? or the water they have less of because it’s all being wasted so companies can keep convincing you to waste literal energy to make ugly pictures in your phone?? art that you could literally maybe save up the smallest amount of money and given to real artists to create. Real SYSTEM artists out there who are more than willing to draw your alters. not even to mention the hundreds of piccrews and games and ways to create visual representations of yourselves. Buy tomodachi life. Get the sims. Literally put a single ounce of effort that doesn’t involve taking down the planet with you. You guys are a grown adult. You should be able to take in what people are telling you and use the information to make better decisions. But no we will not be just pretending that because you need visuals of your alters that AI is suddenly okay. There is no ethical way to waste the planets resources. We’ve literally seen your art for years you’ve spent years drawing but you’d rather make a computer do it for you instead of make your own personalized creation… like. It doesn’t make sense. Please listen to the people telling you that AI is bad and why. We’re not just making shit up and it isn’t only about the ethics of where the art is sourced. AI is literally creating ecological issues
Well hey you apparently didn't read any of my previous asks so I'll just run you through the quick parts and then maybe go back and catch up?
I run local models, social media goes through data centers but my generations don't, they are housed in my PC and are open source so not a single cent goes to the billionaires, not a single 0 or 1 goes to a data center. I can generate images all day for a week, and this conversation will still be more of an impact to those communities than anything I make.
And yeah I have had fan art and have commissioned before, it was fine but lead to dysphoria because the images weren't actually us, they were someone elses interpretation. Same with PicCrew, thats not who I am, and again social media and websites like PicCrew are run through data centers.
Do you suffer from dysphoria? Have you ever needed to do a grounding technique? If not then I hope you never do...if you do, then you may know what this image conveys. Kyra was spiraling and had fallen into her initial trauma; this image, this EXACT image, was what calmed her down. It took a lot of effort to get her to focus, but seeing herself, seeing my face was enough to get her focus on the words and my voice repeating them.
SO I'm supposed to commission this? NAME THE PRICE.
I am absolutely serious.
If it is really that easy then help me here. This image would guarantee bring me out of the spiral, and did so because it was her exact face and mine, something she could recognize as a loved one, delivering the message
I was mid attack so it has to be a rush job. It also needs to be accurate, uncanniness could cause her to spiral. You have 10 minutes maximum (it took me 7 but I'll give you extra time) and it needs to get to me before I can think about payment or anything like that, I was in a crisis.
Legitimately, I am asking you for a reasonable price to be charged for this. If it really is just that easy then this should be an easy scenario. It's not a strawman, this happened to me. It's not a trick question either, there is an image that produced the correct outcome, so all you need to do is figure out how to recreate that image in the appropriate conditions.
I'm gonna wrap this up because honestly one of your statements keeps pissing me off. "Real SYSTEM artists" are you implying I am not an artist or a system, because either way is disrespectful, one of which unforgivably so.
The misinformation you are spouting is demonstrably false and is steeped in rhetoric that can be easily proven with math. The fact that 40% of the ethonal production in America uses more water than every single data center on Earth COMBINED makes the water argument pretty easy...stop relying of fossil fuels, like I've said for ages. Do you drive a car? I don't. If you want to go toe-to-toe on environmentalism I'd be happy to, Kyra went to school for sustainability architecture, so she's a sucker for pointing out how capitalism has made fake environmentalists out of most people. You'd really only stand a chance if you are vegan, because the meat industry itself is a huge impact....if you (or I) cared as much as we say we do, the Vegan would be the one who could shame us.
These are problems systemic to capitalism and have existed LONG before AI.
“””all social media goes through data centers so it’s fine to keep creating and incentive to make more of them!!””” How is harmful thing happening already being helped by you contributing. you’re genuinely being ignorant on purpose or something. Please try actually looking into this instead of listening to followers who are willing to blindly agree with you
I never said it was fine to keep creating them. Don't quote me if you can't do it correctly.
What I said was I run local models, meaning I can generate images (I've been using the example 10k, but let's change it up) for 24 hours straight, and this conversation between you and I is using more data center space than all images made in those 24 hours.
You telling me to look into it? Then I request the same. I do not contribute to the corporations (any more) and I wouod actively celebrate their closures. The bubble popping will actually be in the favor of myself and users like me who have open source models.
Also I'm not "listening to followers who are willing to blindly agree with you" (that's how you quote) because you'll notice the majority of asks are from people saying they are unfollowing, and the ones showing their support aren't telling me what to say, nor are they blindly agreeing with me.
It's a very anti idea to think a side just blindly agrees, it is necessary to be Anti-AI, nuance leads to allowances. Pro AI has never been "use AI instead" but rather "its an option" but to Antis it literally cannot be an option, by definition. So it seems rational to think blindly trust is necessary.
My group, the Prompt Punks have only two(+1) rules:
(The +1 is that you NEVER HAVE to create, I fucking hate content-mills so there's never any rule that people need to create to be a part of us. My kind if Pro-AI movement has room for people who don't use or like AI....you just can't be an ass to anyone else who does.)
We really wsnt to use Ai art to express ourselves but we’re really worried what others will think of us and we’ll be ostracized from our support system. We got banned from r/prompt punks but do you guys know anyplace else to go?
This is surprising, I would be happy to try to help but without knowing your u/ I won't know what to ask about. If you feel comfortable message me here or in DM and I'll ask the leaders.
Update: the only people who have been banned from that sub this month, were done so due to homophobic and transphobic language. I would like to assume anon must've meant before that but I can't be certain.
Hey, just didsocvered this blog. I think it’s great that you’re being ethical about generative art but also this art isn’t anything to write home about. I’d really like to see more unique pieces from Ai art instead of the same nonsense anime over and over again. Just a critique. Maybe try looking into some different models.
Much of my start was on Gemini so I had a lot from that era, but then went through a few redesigns.
Here's our newer alter designs, all of which are on Local models (waillustrious is pretty great)
Atom is doing a series on color, so he'll do a set of images also based around a story. This one is called "Ballad of Purple Girl" or sometimes "Reconciliation"
This one is called "Life Cycle of the Candle Queen" (and btw each series has over 10 images so this isn't all of it) and Yellow isn't ready so I won't tell you the name yet.
I also vibe code a lot. This was a game my dad's friend created that my family played a lot growing up. Both my dad and his friend has passed and the only people who know how to play live in different areas. So this is my historic preservation project. Not *strictly* art but still.
But speaking of vibe coding, I missed using RHINO and AUTOCAD so I created the parts I needed and added some Blender functionality.
With it I designed this crappy little box, which okay big whoop, but the vibe-coded app has a screenshot mode where you can position the camera exactly as you want the shot, with the exact lighting, and when you hit snap, it saves not just the image but the metadata. When combined with another program I maded, it can generate fairly consistent environments.
It's still a work in progress, this kinda thing is a lot harder than non-AI artists realize. Anyone can type "blonde girl in a coffee shop" but I strive for "Kyra at work".
So all that work and in the end I wind up back at Gemini, why not skip all that. Well because this isn't FOR me. One person can mostly keep their own environment consistent by prompting it intentionally or using a base image. But then you get more people working together and everyone's space looks a little different THAT'S when you get the sleuths who go searching for any inconsistencies to point as flaw.
With my program, multiple people from different sides of the world can prompt the *same* environment. Your Sanctuary and mine are both *THE* Sanctuary. The coffee will always be at the expected position, the counter will always have the same markings, and the placement/textures will always be the same...no matter who is there.
Extrapolate this forward a little bit and create a way for a central repository accessed by others and you have a virtual world. I designed the program so my collective can use it to design their own rooms on the upper level and then using the tools, design it themselves. This means that I could digitally visit my friend's space (if allowed access) I could enter the room and whatever images I make will have THEIR items and designs.
You want to know what my artistic talent is?
Gathering the creative folks, bullied by bigots, and shield them long enough that they can stand their ground and find their voice. Synthcollective.org
I'm not gonna be doing much AI here once all the bigots are gone. I mainly just needed to shed the light on the fact that I protect all artists (yes even Antis (literally we protected an outspoken Anti from harassment, stalking, and potentially violence)) and let the pests scatter.
Anyone who would bully anyone in my spaces are not welcome.
Very disappointing to read some of these asks. Thank you for taking steps away from large internet, I really see myself in these responses. As someone who is largely off grid, it’s amazing to see someone else I admire also move. All these asks about data centers and water is ridiculous when you consider most of these people are not on a self-hosted system and not engaging with locally-run communities. I’m pretty anti-“cloud” systems with very few exceptions (tumblr as I port over my posts to my own website) as I make the switch. The internet and its server hosting really should be make a public resource for the good of the people and switched to a renewable energy system. Do you post anywhere that’s federated or locally hosted as part of your anti-data center stance? Will you be moving away from Patreon?
For those reading this blog and before writing a cruel personal-attack message, please get educated about where your data is stored, how it’s stored and the damage that large data centers have made even before AI moved in. Clearly these are people who have thought about their impact and everyone can be doing more. - 🏁
(Sorry for the random answering, I am more sleep deprived than I thought!)
You are a breath of fresh air in this stuffy morning! I'm working on getting a larger repository set up, so currently tumblr is the temporary home, but I got synthcollective.org as the domain and will be going from there. I actually lead a collective of artists (traditional and GenArt) in not just images but music, code, and journalism.
I have a patreon for my webcomic, but after being harassed by the r/DID mods for discussing time loss in a system and showing how WE could conceptualize the space between prompts whereas singles use inaccurate ones...I never once said to use it, or that it was good or anything. But they hit me with the common rhetoric, invalidated my diagnosis, and even quoted one of my fucking comics at me...so I made all my paid comics free to spite them. They emboldened me to defend my community from people like that.
Oh yeah btw, everything on my patreon is now free and will remain open.
For the people still here, there's a bunch of content over there.
But I don't/won't have a patreon for my AI stuff, though I do want to make physical media so we're looking at ways to create actually tangible things like buttons or stickers, ideally a zine.....but I'm getting ahead of myself. The goal is to go completely independent, all the way up to our hosting but...without going into the details, *we're the scrappy rag-tag team of misfits* in our circle so we're gonna be putting our empire together with duct tape and wire...but at least it's not sand.
Bouncing back and forth across your ask (I need sleep!) Its wild to think that some people legitimately don't understand the water cycle, or how cooling a data center works...the biggest shame though is the untrue belief that somehow we *didn't* have a water crisis before or the fact that Nestlé has LOOOOONG since been able to handle the water crisis but doesn't.
Take away all AI right now, right this very second and then place your bets on if that money goes towards impoverished nations or not... these are significant problems but the culprit isn't the inanimate tool, its the people who hoard wealth to an ***ungodly*** degree.
My kettle just boiled but I think my blood has simmered. Thank you friend(s) for your kind words.
"I've been making art for 31 years, this is just a new medium." You type a couple of sentences into a box, hit enter, and the AI slaps together other people's art to spit out an image. You didn't make anything yourself, and comparing that to digital art which takes several hours of work feels insulting, especially coming from someone whose blog is entirely stick figures. There isn't anything inherently wrong with stick figures, but if you're going to talk about how much an artist you are, where is that 30+ years of art experience being put into?
We understand the allure of generating AI images. We get how affirming it might feel, and how frustrating it is having to spend hours drawing just to see yourself when all others have to do is look in a mirror. AI makes it easy! But it's not art. I think more people would have been understanding if you'd have explained that you use a more ethical model and left it at that. But the self-victimization and insistence of it being "art" is the insulting part. We don't hate you, and we don't wish anything bad for you. You don't deserve to be harassed, but you are not exempt from criticism.
I explained that I use local models (open sourced, non-corporate) as well as inpainting (drawing the changes) and controlnets (drawing the initial image and using ai to refine) and have even trained my own Lora which was about 3 days of drawing converse OVER AND OVER AND OVER again because I didn't like the AI making sloppy laces. I do much much more than type a sentence into a box.
But listen...
Art is *more* than just static images...shocker I know.
I'm 37, at the age of 6 I started writing creatively and was put into creative writing programs, when I was 9 I started playing the Trombone and did so until I thought I was too cool a few years later. Picked up an analog camera and learned photography, (including the dark room!)and shortly thereafter filmmaking. I worked at a local public access television studio as an extra circular and worked my way up to TD before I graduated. I went to film school for editing and learned both FCP and Avid (currently stuck on DaVinci). Then dropped out of film school to work coffee shop jobs and the like. Went to architecture school so I learned handdrafting, CAD, and 3D design, and started to get into GIS (to ME that's art) before having my breakdown and hospitalization. After that was when I started hand drawing...my dad would make me practice as a kid but it was *his* art not mine, so as much as it'd be cool to draw hyper realistic people or landscapes, that is not my focus.
Don't be an elitist. Static images aren't inherently superior nor is it the only way to be an artist. Sure I didn't start my webcomic until 2017, but I have been ***compulsively*** creating since 1995...creating art, being an artist IS part of my identity.
Since y'all are gatekeeping here's your sacrifice. Just because my comic is intentionally simplistic doesn't mean I can't do anything else...so all AI aside let me repeat myself.
DON'T BE AN ELITIST.
good, yeah, great, thank you.
for helping destroy the environment, for helping the AI feed into art styles that were stolen directly from hundreds of other artists without them knowing, for supporting an industry that is entirely harmful to the creative process to EVERY ARTIST that you claim to want to be (you're not an artist if you use AI though), for supporting big data centers that steal people's water and electricity, making them effectively homeless. no, really, thank you for helping an industry who will only destroy us the further we go and is already taking people's jobs as well as stealing artists jobs, commissions, designs and artwork to train their horrible ai shit on, that isnt even good and has tens and hundreds of flaws in its execution, instead of sitting down and creating things yourself. doing things yourself will always be more heartfelt than pressing a stupid button. pathetic.
I cant wait until this damn bubble bursts. I do not care whatever excuse you have, disability is not an excuse.
I used to be a supporter but i'm glad i've left all that and I hope nobody comes back to support you unless you stop the genAi shit.
Wow that's a lot, but here's what I'll say:
I agree I can't wait for the bubble to burst and the corporations to fail, because only open-sourced local model users will be left. Those who practiced ethical AI will be set up for the post-bubble world.
Also there's no theft, the terms of service are updated periodically on every website, if you don't read the terms but click accept anyways, that is only your fault if you agreed to something you don't like, it's a legally binding contract...don't sign those without reading.
Social media goes through data centers...not just AI...this message I'm writing, the one you wrote, etc....all of that is being hosted by those data centers. But I can run 10,000 generations on my local model and not a single drop of water is used, not a single 0/1 goes through the data center, and not a dime goes to billionaires.
Are you old enough to remember the Metallica V Napster debacle? Where studios and labels were up in arms about their IP and Metallica showed their fans they were corporate shills....that's you.
If you are crying about IP rights then you are fighting on behalf of the studios and the labels, AGAINST small creators...we've been through this before, but if this is your first time then take some notes. If y'all let the corporations win this one, they're gonna do what corporations do, make as much money as they can by spending the least. A public that is technologically illiterate, cannot compete and therefore has no alternative but to consume.
Free AI and local models is ***putting the power of production in the hands of the people.***
I have a SLM on my phone that can work completely offline. In the event of an attack and there's a total network outage I will be able to look up how to purify water, or grow crops, or navigate to a disaster relief area many miles away.
Just like when the Dot Com bubble burst, it won't get RID of it, it'll just take it out of the hands of the people who inflated it, and leave it in the hands of those who took precautions.
I think I answered every point you made except the stealing of jobs, but buddy that is a symptom of capitalism and the insecurity of creative work. I'm trying to make my own job, I'm noy taking anything....and if you want to continue THIS train of thought you better not use ad blockers because then you are part of that job loss because the culture of ad blocking is what is driving corporations towards AI...if y'all are gonna try to avoid it at all costs why WOULDN'T they try to save. People who ad block have been destroying the advertising medium and industry for almost a decade now, this isn't AI...this is GREED.
I have died on the "support artists even advertisers" hill many times and I'll do it again. Marketing is the crossroads of Design, Business, Sociology, and Psychology and is actually really cool. Small businesses need to advertise, small game studios, record labels, so hurting the big guys hurts them too.
Bye then. I don't really care. I could never have my art seen, I could never make a cent, I will still create and I will use whatever tool I choose. Your support is hollow if you can't separate the art from the message, and I don't need fame. I don't need likes or shares or any of that, my work has always been "I'm gonna open myself up and you can see if anything looks familiar" so if you're here because of the stick figures then you missed the point.
Here you go, drag her through the mud, you want suffering so there you go. Bully my 16 year old alter for wanting to express herself. If you even understood my comic you'd know how fucking traumatized and sleepless she is, you'd be a monster...but you seem to feel righteous so have at it.
The amount of bigotry my community faced this year is insane, so much more than previous years. It's dangerous out there, but all the more reason to keep your pride strong.
