MY GIDEON THE NINTH POOL SCENE FANART ABOUT WHICH I AM VERY VERY EXCITED
Next time I gotta start with a better sketch and exaggerate my poses a little more, but I’m just returning to art after several burnout years and overall I’m very pleased!
Edit: thank you everyone for your kind responses 🥺 I really just made this for myself and my friends, and it’s been so surprising and gratifying to know that the love and care I put into their designs and expressions came through and was meaningful to so many other people who read the books
Melted steel. Mingled blood. Harrowhark-and-Gideon, Gideon-and-Harrowhark at last.
I miss them so much
normal griddlehark cus im sorry for last post's devastation

It's crazy that these strikes are happening given that all the writers and actors are asking for is less than 0.3% of the revenue these studios make.
This is what gets me. The writers and actors aren’t asking for much but these CEOs are digging their heels in
It's because it sets a precedent that the CEOs are terrified to set. That they will acquiesce to worker demands if the workers are resolute enough.
Because in an ideal world for these rich fucks, the workers give up, and the CEOs win, and its reinforced in the collective public mindset that all a strike does is "disrupt the economy, deprive people of valuable products, and waste people's time". The goal is to maintain the assertion that Strikes Don't Work. I don't think they genuinely give a shit about 0.15% of their revenue. What they care about is the OPTICS.
They cannot back down, for the exact same reason that WORKERS cannot back down. Because if the workers win, it shows people just that bit more that The Poors have power and ultimately we can make the rich do what we want if we put our fucking minds to it. And that, to the rich, is bad news bears to the highest degree.

gideon! gideon! gideon!
the progression from "but i don't even remember about you most of the time" to "i must no longer accept being a stranger to you" to "you are my only friend. i am undone without you" to "i cannot conceive of a universe without you in it" is never going to leave my brain. i'm gonna be 80 years old in a retirement home staring out the window reminiscing about griddlehark like they were a long lost love of mine
there are like five rules to life and those rules are
1. eat 3 meals a day
2. always have a non alcoholic drink with you
3. never trust anything you think about your life after 8-9pm
4. do a little something for urself every day
5. interact with a Beast at least once a day (human, feline, canine, lizard, bird, etc)
and the secret 6th rule:
6. if you can't do all of those rules, just do the ones you can
i had the pleasure of collaborating with Kalamity Music to make an epic, orchestral cover of “warriors” from she-ra! i hope you all enjoy. 🗡🏳️🌈✨
reblogs are appreciated
Had a revelation recently and thought it might help other people too.
There is absolutely NO shame in having a ton of projects on the go and switching between or even dropping them on a whim.
Hobbies are meant to be FUN.
You can have 20 writing projects, or knitting, or whatever your thing is, and putting them down for a bit or abandoning them is a-okay.
I personally would never think that someone who started playing a video game and then decided to play another before it was finished was a quitter, so why am I so judgemental towards myself?
Doing your hobbies in a way that brings you joy isn't selfish or weak, it's...literally the whole point of them. Go nuts!
This is an extremely well-put take, and I've been thinking the same thing more and more. It's so obvious that we shouldn't have to conform to "normal" (neurotypical) standards in so many other different areas, why is this so difficult?
Another example is Doom Boxes.
(i.e. when you're organizing, you gather the more difficult stuff in one place so it doesn't slow you down.)
We all figured out we do the same thing, and now it's all over the internet with a catchy name. But so much of it is self-critical, even jokingly. I finally got tired of that, and now I'm using aesthetic bins and baskets to set up doom boxes in every room of my house as a permanent decor fixture. That way I can preemptively gather the difficult stuff before it contributes to bigger messes. It's a good idea and it fits how my brain works. Why would I view it through the same lens as forgetting to do the dishes?
It's my life. I get to decide what's "typical."
