⟢  "...The land I'm from is called Crispia. We cookies live there." she gestures to herself. Thoughtfully looking up at the star. "...Stars are usually in the sky are they not? Then.. it's possible you probably have not heard of us." This little cookie is just accepting the other was a star that easily huh?

"...Witches are, what we would consider gods to cookies— Atleast, a majority of cookies do atleast. Some are atheistic..... They are a lot like you, in size and extremities.... Yet they have different faces."

“Why shouldn’t I? It’s not like it’s any worse than the time we were in that swamp.” Pure Vanilla made a face at that. “But to your point; yes. Sometimes I find its easier for me to sleep. It seems my poor sleep schedule hasn’t fixed itself in the intervening years.”

If anything, it simply got worse.

“Ah – he ate something of yours?” Pure Vanilla fixed the cotton-candy sheep a stare. “Drizzle... what am I going to do with you? I swear, I can’t look away for five minutes before you’re eating something.” He reached out and lightly squished the sheep’s face, wiggling it a little. “Gluttonous beastie.”

Pure Vanilla’s tone was fond, as he looked to White Lily, “It wasn’t anything important, I hope? I can recreate it if I knew what it was.”

⟢  At the mention of that horrid swamp from ages ago, she made a small face. Though it had been her idea, it still was unpleasant to sleep in mud. Still— it was better than the other options at the time. A slight worried look was given to him at hearing of his sleep troubles. Nevermind her own sleeping habit were horrid that wasn't the focus of this discussion. "Do you need help with that..? I have some spells that could help regulate that cycle."

  A beat, considering the other question laid before her. Mulling it over for a few moments.

"Just... something I was writing. Nothing you could recreate." A small sigh. Her hands gently rubbing the sheeps ears as well. It had been the obvious conclusion to where her letter had gone but... what if it was just out there? Floating around for anyone to see? She had a slightly troubled expression.

They stared at the cookie in silence.

For several seconds.

And then, ". . . Yeah and I'm a star," they replied, sarcasm poking through their bewilderment.

Slowly, they shifted into a crosslegged position on the path. "Being a living talking being isn't normal for either of those things." Then again, they didn't exactly have a term for what they were outside of "star." Maybe this cookie didn't, either?

⟢  "...Being alive and moving is quite normal for me," A star? Could such a thing be truly able to come down to this world...? The world of witches... had a lot more than they knew. It disturbed her, scared her that this fact— so obvious in itself— was presenting itself so apparent to her. Still... the other wasn't a witch, but that didn't mean it wasn't dangerous for her.

"For me and all cookiekind... Being alive is quite normal for 'us' I... never heard of a talking Star before when researching the Witches."

~༺ :||  A smile would grace his features. That sentiment was mutual. Her hand in his, he brought it close as if outwardly expressing how he cherished her concern.

"I do not regret. Should time repeat itself, my actions would not deviate from this course I chose and I would gladly give my life again."

He lifted his crowned head towards the sounds of voices approaching. While they may not have been able to perceive this form, it would be be less concerning if they should not see White Lily conversing to herself, and he began leading her away from what would have been concerned eyes.

"I suppose... if there is but one. I would have enjoyed time alone together upon seeing you wake after all this time."

⟢  She followed him readily, not questioning where they were headed. Her fingers interlacing with his, allowing him to feel something again. This was something only she could give him. Something she was happily ready to give to him.

"...We can spend some alone time together, right now, you aren't fully gone." a slight squeeze of the spectral hand "I... was hoping for the same thing after all, when I awoke again."

“Why you –!” Teeth snapped at the other cookie dangerously as he leaned back into her space. “You think you know everything, hm? Think you know your precious. Pure. Vanilly so well, do you?”

Shadow Milk didn’t pay attention to the fact that the sheep had meandered over to a particular stall; how they collectively started messing with the padlock. ( Really, why did Pure Vanilla forget to keep it locked when he wasn’t there? Or, perhaps, the cookie had simply stepped inside for something. No matter. ) Nor did he catch onto the fact that the gate holding a particular, ornery cotton-candy sheep had silently swung open.

Instead, he jabbed White Lily with his staff, sprinkling a bit of levitation magic on her to pull her up off the ground by a few inches. “Think you know him better, hm?”

⟢  "You walked into that one you know? You shouldn't get so upset," a soft laugh. Her eyes that once were cold now flitted with the slightest of amusements. Mostly making fun of him but— it was the closest he's seen her be amicable towards him. Though she did snap back to her annoyance as she was lightly lifted up.

"Hey—! Let me down this instant—" she began yelling before she saw the flash of something behind Shadow Milk.

~༺ :||  It was not a matter whether he did or did not. Now that the Beasts were free, it would only be a matter of time before they would reclaim enough power to prove a greater threat. At least the Silver Knights would be close at hand should trouble brew too soon.

The spectral faerie sighed. He would not bar her from doing as she wished, but what truly troubled him...

"I am... learning. There is little I can provide as I have become, yet traversing the kingdom offers limited peace. After Shadow Milk Cookie exacted chaos upon my people, seeing them safe comforts me. Even as they prepare for the battle which lies ahead."

⟢  Her apologizing would only be a blow to him and his situation. To the sacrifice he made for her to be here, standing besides this spectral figure. Quietly, she looked at him, compassion tugging at her soul. Guilt keeping her in place.

"... Don't negate the sacrifices you have made, you have given all of yourself to this kingdom for the sake of them," her hands reached out, holding one of his "You... Are truly admirable. I'm certain of this fact."

He sliiiiiides in close enough to be in White Lily’s space. “Friend, is he?” Shadow Milk asked, giggling. The serpent vanished – for now. “The way you hesitated tells me something different! Are you two kissing and telling? Oh! Tell me, tell me! I want all the juicy gossip.”

( Drizzle, meanwhile, had taken one look at the floating cookie and had other plans in mind. Pay not attention to the other cotton-candy sheep that were starting to move about in a slow manner; as to not catch his attention. )

Shadow Milk pulled back, “He’s horrible at it.”

⟢  Oh! A glare is earned finally. The grip on her staff somehow being even tighter than before. Had the two...? Knowing the state Pure Vanilla had been in the Spire... She didn't think it would be the most balanced event to occur. This only pissed her off even more.

"Well, we can only be as good as our partners. Hardly can blame Pure Vanilla for that one." Her voice was cold. Dangerous. "What a pity you weren't up to his standards."

Elder Faerie looked over to see @fadedlilium approaching as the moon began rising over the forest trees. "I will be monitoring the parameter of the kingdom this night. You should stay within the veil and rest. It will be safe."

⟢  "And leave you out here all by yourself? Don't you want a conversing companion?" She gave him a gentle smile, stopping by his side. She was tired, yes, but... she could never get to sleep nowadays. The cookie also was barred from the library by Silverbell... So, when she had spotted the spectral figure, her feet took her to him.

"...How are you?"

“I. Don’t. Want. To see him.” Shadow Milk hissed out, baring his teeth at White Lily. “Not after that stunt he pulled in my Spire. I only wanted to poke around and see what was so important to him.” And now he could see that it was a whole lot of nothing. Just some stupid, stinky sheep and a half-baked cookie who could barely keep her head above water.

Disappointing!

Shadow Milk opened a portal and yoinked out a serpent, letting it coil around his hand thoughtfully. Mis-matched blue eyes studied it for a moment, then Lily. “So what are you here for then? Hoping he’ll let you worm your way back into his good graces? Surely you’re not that delulu, Lils.”

⟢  The sight of that serpent put her more on edge, she felt the hair on the back of her neck bristle. Ruby hued eyes trained more on it than Shadow Milk now. The reminder of that she wasn't in the spire rang through her head, her souljam gently reassuring her. Though, she wasn't only worried for herself— Drizzle was also in this flock and she didn't want them or any of the other sheep to be hurt.

  Briefly wondering if he seriously just said delulu out loud— The cookie stayed on her guard. Frown deepening some at the accusation, she took in a small breath. "I was invited here to see how the kingdom was fairing. Pure Vanilla is my—" she paused, taking a beat as her eyes shifted slightly to the left. "— My friend."

“Oh me oh my! You really don’t pay attention to what I say, don’t you?” Shadow Milk said slipping into a position so that he was dangling halfway upside down in front of White Lily. “I already told you. I have no reason to be here. Can’t a cookie take a look around? It’s been eons since I’ve actually been out and about – you know.”

Shadow Milk grinned again, “After all. With all the talk of the Vanilla Kingdom – I just had to come and see what the hubbub was about. You wouldn’t deny a curious tourist, riiiiight?”

⟢  "If anything, you're not a simple tourist in the slightest." Controlling her expression, she remained relatively neutral as she looked to him. The burning fire in her own eyes giving away her feelings on the matter at hand.

"This isn't even really the kingdom— Just sheep pastures. Which I happen to be in." her fingers tightened on the staff in her hand some more "...I won't let you see him."

There was a jolt and she moved quickly away from the other, holding up her staff defensively. "You— what are you doing here?"

GIGGLES!

The Beast merely smiled at that, head popping off as he gave her a wave, “What, can’t I come and visit a dear old friend from time to time? Still mad about the whole Spire business? I don’t blame you I, thought that was a masterpiece.” Shadow Milk’s head returned to his body, the cookie now lounging in the air.

“Alas! I have no reason to be here. Not unless you’re willing to divulge a few secrets~”

⟢  "There's no reason for you to be in this part of Crispia, how did you even get all the way out here—?" She would expect to end up running into the other in Beast Yeast but... this close to the Vanilla Kingdom? Had he followed them when they came back? Why was he bothering her out in the middle of a sheep pasture? She gripped her staff and stared at him, not backing down.

"State your business. Now."

There’s a bit of a – giggle.

“The sheep are great for napping, I have to admit. Sometimes I come out here in search of relaxation.” the wind was in his ears today, he could feel it dance against his skin as Syrup nuzzled his hand for more attention.  Pure Vanilla resumed his petting, humming to himself. “You couldn’t ask for a better pillow, either. Was Drizzle causing you grief again?”

⟢  "You still come out here to sleep? I thought you'd grow out of that habit by now, Golden Cheese will have a fit if she knew—" her words stopped and a troubled look passed over her face. Reminiscing always put her in an odd mood... Being as she couldn't find all the pieces of the puzzle usually. Not to mention, she still felt horribly guilty for... Nevermind, she wouldn't think about it. Not right now.

"Oh! Yes, but a little bit of trouble never hurt anyone... isn't that right Drizzle?" she gently cooed at the sheep, sneaking another fruit piece for them "...They stole something of mine, but I'm pretty sure it has been eaten by now."
