Just a man taking care of the trash that's bugging his wife, nothing to see here.
I'm extremely surprised a josei/mature manhwa is this interesting and suspenseful for a female lead manhwa. The female lead has a interesting job that I haven't heard a lot about so not your default secretary or business woman we usually get as an occupation. The FL is a tree doctor with her own company of only two. She has flashbacks of her life throughout season 1 but never reveals everything about herself so she is also the focus of that suspense not just the ML. We know nothing about the ML aside from hes a rich murderer with amnesia and we are pretty much on the same boat as FL. This really can go down a dark path if they really wanted it to which I think makes it even more fun to read. The chemistry between the two leads is slowly climbing and they are both attractive! Shoutout to the ML looking like an old school bishonen I love that so much. Both smart, attractive, I love the over exaggeration from FL because honestly is she really over exaggeration or under exaggerating the ML could snap on her or his family could probably make her disappear WHENEVER. Im looking forward to this and I hope it gets season 2.

Ashes of Rage is incredibly scathing in its criticism of the treatment of women in just the first 10 minutes or so tbh.
The fact that birth (literal and metaphorical) plays such a huge role and itâs directed to the women, the emphasis on how a woman can gain power without giving birth if she takes another personâs child, the refusal to let a child be without a guardian, the fact that mice (a prolific breeder and oft-considered vermin yet a necessary part of the ecosystem is juxtaposed with âgirlsâ when Kon listens at the beginning), the use of âseedâ as both a destructive and renewing force (a lot of wordplay there), etc.
And also the consistent criticism that is woven into the movie itself of upholding the status quo (the music that combines modern sounds, especially things such as rap, with Japanese musical qualities; the manner in which Kon dressesâatypical of the eraâthe fact that Sakashita, no matter how nice he is, is *also* part of the system that holds up the Ćoku, the women taking part in the system, the inherent fact that its an outsider, Kon, who saves the Ćoku, Tenshi as a figurehead, etc.)
Not to mention how fire is used as both as a destructive and renewing force here + the shots that intentionally focus in on the white horse. One of the first shots you see of that room is the horse (virility, a ward against evil spirits/harm, a mount for deities/connection between the divine and mortal realm, the practice of Shinme [especially with the last movie being about water/rain and an umbrella], etc.)
And Kon is so delightfully theatrical as always. Heâs characterized very strongly by his actions and mannerisms, and the animators and script writers did a wonderful job conveying his character + cementing him as someone different from Ri.
If taken as criticism of Japan and its current sociopolitical sphere + birth, its *very* sharp.
Maomao sketches

maomao and her dedication to never discovering anything about jinshi's personal life
fake idgafer final boss
âapothecary diaries is a romanceâ âapothecary diaries is a court dramaâ wrong. jinshiâs apothecary diaries is a first love romance and maomaoâs is a workplace drama. her biggest problem is being fired via execution and his is falling behind on work worrying sheâs taking the wrong man home
From the audience perspective, it's a murder mystery.
