btw if you live in the midwest (a region where a lot of the states are going to have trigger laws or ban abortion completely it looks like) and if it’s possible that you can leave ur state, get to illinois. Illinois isn’t just a state where abortion is permitted, in illinois abortion is strictly a protected right. illinois’ right to abortion is permanent and isn’t going to be changed anytime soon. in illinois your abortion rights are completely confidential. illinois is one of the easiest states to access abortion in and the process is fairly simple, and it’s going to always be legal to do so even as the right to abortion is overturned in other states. it’s very much a safe haven to anyone who needs to flee their state right now. if anyone can provide any resources and links that would be greatly appreciated.

Just to mention it, as I’m sure others have, as of 6/1/2022 all minors can get an abortion in Illinois without parental consent or parental notification (previously, you had to get a court order to skip the notification). Also, Midwest Access Coalition is a group dedicated to providing funds to those who need to travel here to get an abortion. Please do pass this info on to anyone who may need it.

Even if Kevin Samuels didn’t die, what the whole fiasco shows me is a lot of black men expect you to coddle them and exalt them simply because they are black men regardless of the fact that they did evil things to they’re own people.

the best thing that we can do right now to fight for abortion rights is donating to your local abortion fund, especially in states with “trigger laws” or laws that will immediately take harsh measures to shut down abortion rights as soon as roe is overturned. If you don’t know your local abortion fund or states with trigger laws, here’s one in Texas, one in Louisiana, one in Georgia, one in West Virginia and one in Mississippi (all states with such “trigger laws”). There’s so many more beyond the handful i just listed here but times like these are the time to donate and support the incredible work that these organizations do for their communities.

i actually think it's p disrespectful to reblog someone's fanwork with "#dumb fandom stuff" or "#[insert fandom] trash" or "sorryyy to my followers for posting cringe" or other things along those lines. like. someone cared enough about that to make it lol. and they can see your tags! not everyone feels shame over their interests or wants to have yours associated w their work!
